Weight-Loss Belly Busters

Weight-Loss
Hi team! M2M - I know what you mean abt. strength training. Ugh! It's my least favorite part. I still don't completely understand why it helps so much, but I know it does. Have you thought about purchasing some 3 and 5-lb. weights? Use them as you watch tv or something. There are also some good dvds that are short and sweet. Cassie encouraged me to purchase the Biggest Loser DVD (based on the tv show). It is pretty good! A bit of variety, nice length, etc. I think waiting till you are out of the 200's is a good plan as well. (You'll be there before you know it at this rate!)

As for me, my plan is to hit the gym as much as possible - 5 times is my goal. And I also need to cut my calories a LOT this week. Now that I'm waivering around 150, I know that I need to eat even less - which is so hard.

Hi, guys! I am back online for a bit. Have been drained and exhausted the last few days due to the heat wave, but I am feeling a little more peppy tonight, so I figured I would try to catch up on here. :)

Looks like we are doing a great job on this challenge. I will not have such a big week this week, since most of my loss last week was post TOM bloat loss. But I am sticking to my plan and I figure I will lose at least a pound or two! Hope you all do well, too.

Ran again today. Did the mile and a half! *does little happy dance*

Now that I'm starting to run more, I'm thinking about wanting to enter into a small marathon. Maybe a 5 or 10k run. maybe. don't know yet. Ate well today, may have a little snack my stomach is rumbling, but other than that, i did really well again today! hoping to see the scale move again soon!

Oh Xorie - I've always wanted to do a 5 or 10 K! Actually, I've always wanted to do a triathlon or at least train for one. I hope you do it!

So I'm off to a good start today! I'm off to my Group Personal Training session. I'm a bit scared since I totally overdid it the last two days and every muscle in my body is screaming out at me. I can only imagine how I'm going to feel at the end of this session. Ugh!

I hope all my fellow Belly Busters are having a good day!!

Xorie ~ way to go. Running a 5 or 10 k is an excellent goal! You can do it!

MO2 ~ I've always wanted to do a triathlon too. I have a prof who is in charge who the triathlon club at the university and they are always looking for more members. That is one of my long term goals. I already know how to swim...I'm working on the other stuff right now. I just want to be able to complete one.

yeah, going running again today! This is the first time that I have actually been really regular about it. Making dates with other people so that I HAVE to go. It's really gotten me excited! I hope to add another lap, but we'll see.

Hey There Fellow Belly Busters!

I love to come here and see all this marathon and triathalon talk! It's so inspiring!

I haven't even BEGUN to run, I'm not sure if it would be good for either my joints or my chest yet ;) I've never been a fan of running - but that doesn't mean that can't change!

I put in 4.2 miles today, I've been trying to work up to 4, and hopefully, I can work it in to 5 miles, but that's at least a week from now ;)

I have found that I am *exhausted* by 10:00 pm, stumbling down, exhausted. I've never been like that before. We had guests over last night and by 9:30 all I kept thinking was "How am I EVER going to get these people out of my house so I can slee!?!" ;)

Anyway, I hope you're all doing well!

Twin er...I mean M2M *stick foot in mouth, repeat as needed* ~ Great job on 4.2 miles. You are an inspiration to me to keep going and keep reaching for new goals.

I just finished my first 2 mile walk so far. It feels good. I did the 2 miles by myself today...who needs a walkman when I can play music in my head LOL cuz that's what I did. I actually enjoy the peace quite a bit.

I'm still going to do my evening family walks but now they don't have to be so frantic in a way, I can just enjoy a walk instead of thinking this is my one time a day where I get exercise. It feels good.

Hi Team! Really? We're in the lead? Yay! For pounds and percentage?? Wow! We are a great team, aren't we??

M2M - I wouldn't push running till you're ready. It is hard on the joints. I can only go for45 min. or so running before I'm dead tired. Walking burns more fat, I believe. I could be wrong. Walking hills is a great fat burning activity. The only reason I run is that I feel like I get more "bang for my buck" so to speak. With two little ones, I feel like I can only spare an hour. So if there isn't a class I try to get 45 min on the treadmill running and 15 min. of abs/cool down. Weights sometimes. I can't stand doing weights all by myself. I feel so weird. I need someone there telling me what to do. I'm really not very confident about all of this! I know I should probably change my attitude. I am constantly thinking I'm weak and uncoordinated. Oh well! I'll work on it.

Hey, MK. That wasn't MY 4.2 miles. That total belonged to M2M, and she inspires me, too! My longest distance so far has been about 2.5 miles. :)

Okay, I broke my self-imposed time limit. But, the kids are tucked away in their rooms and my husband is napping, so I had a little bit of free time! :D

Have a great week, team!!!

LOL  I didn't catch that...all these M's..me included. *note to self: read poster's names better*

Well it's ok, because what I said is true for both :p

ok, just got back from my run with my sister! I DID add that lap, and I DO feel so much better now! I am really getting into this!

Though, I must confess, I was going to skip on the run, but I sat here on my computer, logged on, and up pops my homepage. Which is this site. That's when I jumped up, changed into my running stuff and yelled for Danielle(my sis) I was so intent on getting to my car to get to the track that I forgot to put the ice back, and it was all melted! But that's alright, because I went out! I'm very proud of myself. Good luck everyone else! We're all doing it!

Hi everyone

I see my belly busting buddies are all hyped up about exercise! I must admit my secret desire was always to enter a mini triathlon (I guess it's not so secret now!). I could definitely do the cycle and swim leg - with a lot of training - but oh! that running I fear after 2 large babies and not doing my pelvic floor exercises when I should of, well lets just say I'll stick to walking!:)

A while ago the trainer at the gym was increasing my intensity/speed on the treadmill so that I would have to break into a run, but with every stride I was wetting myself! Needless to say, I power walk now!:D

Anyway, have a great Friday BB's, it's my weigh in day tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Hey Everyone,
It's so cool that every one is MOVING!! Xorie, good for you for putting on the shoes and heading out! And AC - I'd um...power walk too if I were you!!

I put in 4.1 miles this morning - I feel great and am ahead of schedule for my Saturday morning weight loss goal (that's when I move my ticker!)

Have a great day everyone!

still eating well up here in the north west! I have about 4 hours of physical labor, then two hours of volleyball, then I'm going to go running again. Have a wonderful day my fellow bellybusters!

Aussiechick! I have the same problem. I also have two who were large babies at birth (8lb. 7 oz. and 9 lb. 6 oz.) My doc has told me that I will need surgery at some point. Running is a challenge, but I find that if I hold back on drinking liquids before and during, I do better. It sucks, huh??? We're going to scare those who haven't had children, aren't we? (It's worth it!)

Anyhow, I am feeling the need to take a break from exercising today after 3 hard days in a row. Plus I have a sick child and I don't want to expose the kids at the gym to whatever she has (fevers mostly).

I hope everyone has a great day!
