Weight-Loss Beer

Weight-Loss
Ok so on friday it was the opening game for the baseball team and I live across from the park so I get to enjoy the views of people watching and occasional balls hitting cars!! Anyways my friends and I like to sit out front and drink beer on these lovely summer nights when there is nothing else to do and friday was no exception. A friend of mine brought some Sam Adams I cant remember which one exactly so I thought ok I will give it a go.........I Loved It!!!:jump: I was pleasantly suprised by this because I really had low expectations about something other than Budweiser!! I think I have a new favorite now and I will be more apt to try new beers in the future. Thank you guys for the encouragement to step outside the box!!:)

I love beer! My husband & I have a shot of whiskey & a beer every night before dinner. It's our 'thing.'

(That's it though, we never drink any other time.)

I decided not to cut this out when I started losing weight & it may have slowed me down but it was a trade-off I was willing to make.

The only difference was I changed from Sleemans Cream Ale (140 calories) to Sleemans Clear (100 calories.)

This is pretty funny to me, but not in a bad way. The only thing that the Bud folks are good at is marketing. They have always had the best marketing campaigns for well over 100 years. For example, you know all of the "corporate swag", all of the little giveaways like pens or hats or flashlights or whatever that companies give away with their logos on it? Adolphus Busch started all of that. They've been at the forefront of marketing as long as they've been around. So, it's really no wonder that so many people who don't exactly know what they're talking about thinks that Bud products are the ultimate, yet they never try anything else. Getting you to think that way is the whole point of their marketing schemes, and they're masters at it. Unfortunately it's not true though. First of all, real beer doesn't have RICE in it. Think about it. It's too carbonated too, they make up for lack of flavor by adding more bite in the form of fizz.

Beer really Bad for You ???

(Ok please dont give me any crap for this your not my mother):blush5:

Sorry I have a question

Ok im not a big drinker I dont go out every weekend and get drunk. I drink ever so often not even like once a month. When I do drink though I get hammered.

I always hear beer is a ton of calories and you'll gain a ton of weight and this that and something else. But it seems like every time I drink I like drop in weight. (knocking on wood right now) just a pound or two but is this odd. I always expect the scale to go up after a night of drinking but if its not the same its lower. Is is dehydration or what IDK

Its dehydration.

Having said that I managed to lose 36kg while being a regular binge drinker.

I put it all back on by becoming an every day drinker.

Now I barely drink at all but Ive noticed when I do its BAD because you are more likely to eat high fat stuff when in a social situation with booze, PLUS you have the next days hangover which makes you (me) crave carbs and sweet stuff.

NOT GOOD.

Hi Today900...

I went to calorie-count.com... And just for an average beer it says that it has 117 calories for a can/bottle. That's not terribly bad, but it can add up if you have more than one beer. Find out how many calories the beer you drink actually carries. Go to the beer website and they'll probably have a nutritional guide. Then incorporate that into your diet, if you must have it.

I also fount this website:

Have you ever thought about switching to non-alcoholic beer?

I have actually never really had a hang over. Im still a little out of it. Like today I am going healthy had breakfast at 12 noon lol and a banana a little while ago Im not feeling very hungry at all.

Im cheap I drink Key stone light dont hate on it. There was one inccident where munchies did get control we ate like mac&cheese around 3am. But I learned from that.

I dont think I could ever drink Non alcoholic beer cause well who drinks beer for the taste.. maybe a few but Im just looking for a good time.

I did read that article thanx i hope I have that where the beer has reverse affect.

I think you need to come party with me if you have never had a hang over.

Im 19 and I drink about every weekend. It doesn't affect my weight that much. Don't worry about it. Just party like a rockstar while your still young.

Then what is the point of drinking? Its not even beer then.

It's just a suggestion. A healthier suggestion. It's obvious that she likes the taste of beer, otherwise she'd probably be drinking other alcohol as well. So if she likes the taste, then why not switch to non-alcoholic? I know it's probably not as good as the real stuff, but it's a good substitute.

:cheers2:We should deff party some time. hit me up

I tried this apple stuff last night didnt even taste like alcohol but thats the shit that will get you messed up fast.

Its not even about the taste because truth after the 3rd one I dont care what it tastes like. lol The only reason I drink a lot is because I play pong and I own the table all night. and flip cup We own that

Yea party hardy

Alcohol can not be stored as fat, so really you wont gain weight from drinking beer (try a low carb beer), but just be careful of what you EAT when your drinking.

The munchies can be a problem if you are affected by that when you drink. Worse than that for me is it impairs my judgement and it's easy to make bad food choices. I've also heard drinking can decrease your metabolism a bit since it's a depressant, as long as 72 hours after you finish and that it can also raise cortisol levels. That said I think it affects everyone in different ways. I know for me it doesn't work because having one drink usually means having ten, couple that with a normal days calorie intake and I'm way over maintenance levels. That and some people miss the next few days of excercise due to brown bottle flue, if they are excercising.

I never drank beer though, it's 80 proof or better or I don't imbibe. At least it was when I was drinking, after doing it nearly every day for 20 years I've had enough for a while.

Its dehydration.

Researchers at Granada University in Spain said drinking beer after strenuous physical activity can be beneficial for the body.

The scientists said their study found beer can help dehydrated people retain liquid better than water alone, The Telegraph, a British newspaper, reported Friday.

Not necessarily dehydration...but obviously, alcohol can affect people in different ways.

My downfall was alcopops, WKD mainly. From age 17 - 19, i gained 4 stone from binge drinking. Although by then i was drinking spirits, like rum, spiced rum, and gin, a lot more than alcopops. There is a ridiculous amount of calories in the big bottles that i used to drink, around 2000 i read somewhere (Hopefully that's wrong)...but of course, had i known this at the time...

It's obvious that she likes the taste of beer

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, drinks cheap-ass Keystone Light because they like the taste. The only thing that non-alcoholic beer is good for is when you don't really want to drink in the first place, but you want to fit in.

As for the hangover comments... a hangover is nothing but dehydration. You can drink alot and not get a hangover if you hydrate properly. 19 year olds usually don't know how to do this yet though. :) I can drink 12 shots of whiskey and get up the next morning and run 10 miles.

Like I said I hate the taste of keystone but after the 3rd one I dont really care anymore.

But yes it is cheap but i like keystone a lot better then miller. I'll tolerate miller when Im drunk but I dont much like it.

I heard that you're supposed to drink a pint of water before you go to sleep...however it's still never worked for me lol.

Unless you mean have a pint of water between each shot  lol :p
