Missprincess: Ab Jam is a work out in a DVD set I have called Turbo Jam - most of the set focusses on cardio workouts, which are pretty fun, but since going to the gym, I haven't needed them as much. But I don't get much of an ab workout on the treadmill, so I still do this one at home :) 10 minutes standing ab workouts to get you warmed up, and then 10 minutes of intense floor exercises - I still can't get through the second half without a short break!

Food:

- tuna sandwich: 350/30
- chicken caesar salad: 450/20
- 6" pizza sub: 400/20
- 2 granola bars: 300/35
Total: 1500 calories, 105 calories

Exercise:
20 minutes eliptical: 150
Total: 150

Water: 2.5L
 
can you get just the abjam?? I would love to be able to do more of that stuff at home :)

As far as I can tell () you can only buy them in bundles, but if you promise not to tell anyone, I could probably burn a DVD copy for you ;)

LOL, okay here's the whole Turbo Jam set that I have:

DVD 1:
--Learn & Burn (intro cardio workout, about 20 minutes long)
--20 Minute Workout (high-speed cardio, about 20 minutes long - very intense)
--Turbo Sculpt (resistances/weights, about 45 minutes long)

DVD 2:
--Ab Jam (abdominal-focused workout, about 20 minutes long)
--Cardio Party (cardio workout, about 45 minutes long)

I would recommend any of these workouts to anyone that can handle them. I will say, the cardio-based workouts are fairly high-impact. They have a couple of the girls doing "low-impact modifications" but even those seem impacting at least a little - so those with bad backs or knees may want to stay away from those ones.

If anyone wants one or some of these, I can get copies burned and mail them out to you, just send me a PM. However, I should say that you should support Chalene (the trainer) and buy the set if you want all of them - she put hard work into designing and implementing these great workouts! I just don't agree with forcing people to buy 5 workouts when they only need/want 1.

So yesterday was kind of a crappy-food day, but I didn't really eat that much. I had a 2-item chinese plate with chow mein noodles and bourbon chicken, that I can only estimate at at least 800 calories, and probably 75 carbs. Before that, I had a granola bar in the early afternoon, which is about 150 cals and 20 carbs. When I got home from work (an HOUR LATE because of an escalated call I had to take) I had about three bites of a pasta, broccoli and cheese salad before going to bed.

I got no formal exercise in either, since that late call meant I couldn't go to the gym after work as planned because I would have missed the last bus home. I was on my feet for almost 4 hours, but it was just casual walking around the call center helping other reps.

Ugh, at least I'm back to 184, but I could have been to 183 by now I bet. Also, sorry if this is tmi, but I'm being really disappointed by this supposed cleanse I'm working on because its not working as well as I'd hoped; probably because I forget to take the powder all three times a day, and usually just twice, or even once a day... I would have expected at least some improvement but I'm not noticing any change at all.
 
Mornin' Beagle! Don't sweat yesterday just do as good as you can today :D As for the cleanse, it is important to use it exactly as many times a day as it says or it wont' work (that happened to me on my first one) even if it means setting atimer or something to make you remember. They do wonders when done right :D

What kind of cleanse are you doing? Are you drinking enough fluids?
 
MJ: I was doing the metamucil one you suggestion, and my water intake seems to go up and down from almost 3L a day to maybe .5L (usually on those days I'm replacing water with diet soda which is just as bad as not having anything :()

Anyways, I think I'm going to have to leave the community for a little while here to get my act together. I had a bit of an epiphany tonight that I am a big fat liar (in both senses) - I have been fudging my journal almost from the start despite all of my psychobabble bullshit about being accountable to yourself, about doing it for your health and not for anyone else, blah blah blah. You guys, great as you have been, have been cheering me on for trying half-assed to lose weight, and congratulating me for lying to you all. The days when I don't post at all really mean that I ate so damn badly I couldn't even think of a good enough lie to tell and didn't want to because I know that it's bad.

Everybody here has been absolutely fantastic, and you're all awesome. I hope once the words coming out of my mouth are as good as the food going in (and both need considerable improvement) that I can come back and do this right.

Don't leave us Beagle, just stop assuming we're going to judge you. We're here to encourage you, and give you advice when you blow it. If you can just bring yourself to admitting you blew it, you're much better off. The important thing is to lay it all out, and just say, so I'm having trouble, so I slip, so I fall, so what. Being honest is what gets you useful help. If you're doing so great on your own, you're gonna get a bunch of cheers & congrats, but if you need help (and your post says you do) then you have to SAY SO! We can help, we will help, we will be a real support system, but we have to know where you really stand. Don't go away, just turn over a new leaf. Start a new journal, make the rule honesty from post #1, even if it isn't pretty, and isn't happy. If you can't bear to post something, just make an entry that says, "I'm feeling really bad about yesterday and can't post the details, sorry." and get over it. An "honesty rule" is the best way for your journal to be a useful tool. Make your journal visitors be honest too. If they're jealous, or moody, or not feeling it, then we should all say so too.

My advice, take it or leave it.
