Amanda's Diary

Weigh-In Day

Ok well today was weigh in. I am back up to 186.2.

So I'm up .8 pounds.

I'm not really sure what to think of this one. I guess it's muscle? If I go by my calories, I really should have lost a pound. (and that's not including my exercise) I just don't know. I'm not really feeling down so to speak. Just confused. .

Well Gizmo is awake. What a shocker! :p So I'm going to go and TRY to play with him. Oh yeah today is a good day. I'm going shopping with my mom for a baby shower. I also got an e-mail today from a soldier in Iraq. I had been looking for a pen pal there. :) I'm so excited.

Weight loss will not be my main priority in life. Becoming healthier is that priority, so do I feel healthier? Yes I do. Am I happy? Yes I am. Am I blessed in life? Most definitely!

Don't let that small amount of gain get you down. It's good that you feel healthy and good about yourself. Isn't that reason why most of started this lifestyle change? That's really neat about the pen pal over seas. Keep your head up your doing great!

It could definitely be muscle, or it could have just been water retention. With how well you're doing I sincerely doubt it was real gain. Too bad Greg is gone for a week, but seperation does make the heart grow fonder. You guys seem to have a really good relationship-how long have you been together?

Oh, and hooray for Gizmo being awake! Little Rhonda likes to wake up late at night and torture the cat by making her wheel squeak. :)

.8 lb is nothing,..you are doing well and will continue to do so..but you know htat already.
And yes, you are truely blessed ;)

Thank you so much girls! You really brought a tear to my eye! Sometimes it takes those small reminders from others to make you realize what is really going on.

Funky~ Thank you for the compliment about Greg and I. Yes we do have a great relationship. He makes me extremely happy. He's shed some pounds since I started on this weight loss journey too. hehe We have been together for almost 4 years.

Yep .8 isn't bad. I think I've been doing really well. I guess I can look at it like this...I gained weight when I was sick and then lost even more the following week. :) Regardless of what the deal is, I'm going to keep going. Although hard and tempting at times, I'm loving my new lifestyle!

YAYYY for amazing people like you!

Coastergirl,
That's so sad about the antique store burning to the ground. When I lived in Ohio I would occasionally drive up to Monroe to go to the outlet mall. Nice area. Hopefully that couple will go on to do great stuff, even if it is without the store.
Keep up your hard work! You are doing this!!

Ohh I want the weekend back too! but now you are one day closer to seeing Greg again! I looked at the weightloss table, looks like you are going to weigh less than me soon! you don't need me teeling you how good you're doing, you already know it! ;) Have fun with Gizmo. We have a Gizmo too, but he is a Guinea Pig.

Hey Christina! Welcome back to the posting world. Haha :) I didn't even think of it being closer to seeing Greg. Haha oops! :p Well as far as weighing less than you, hehe I'm trying. No offense of course! Sometime soon I'm gonna be a skinny girl. HA! (AND YOU ARE TOO!)

Yeah Gizmo is sooo cool. Haha. He's little with a white body and a light gray head. He's such a cutie! --- We were going to call him Mac, but then all I could think of was McDonalds lol and I just didn't want to go that route!

I can't wait until like the end of April. Softball season! I'm so psyched because I know then that I'm definitely going to up the weight loss. Playing softball 3 days a week, plus "dieting" and maybe working out, how could I not? I don't know how often I'll "work out" though because that will be hard to do with work and ball. Oh well I'm so excited! I think I'll be playing on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Plus the occasional tournament. YAYYYYY

ok, maybe im dumb......

Hey all,
I'm new here so perhaps I shouldnt be saying anything, but.......
When I go through this diary section and see what everyone is eating and what is written down for the calories, I just dont get it. Like, 'dinner --tuna 200 cals' So you just had a can of tuna in water? Thats it??? And dessert 'fudge--43 cals' Is that like a smell? Or a finger nail's worth? I dont get it 'cuz when I eat its like ' three cups carrotts with one cup salsa '
The portion sizes must be INCREDIBLE small  How do you do it?

Sounds like you are doing great with calories. Yay about the softball. I like playing. I used to play baseball in school(with the boys :p) We have a gizmo in the family. It's funny that you guys have pets named gizmo. That is my husband's nephews nickname, LOL.

Hi there. It really just depends on what you're eating. I ate my pizza late, so I was hungry but didn't need anything huge. I had a can of tuna fish (water, not oil) with about a teaspoon of mayonnaise. So that was about 200 calories. Yes, that was all that I had. My chocolate fudge LOL I admit it is surprising that I could he 43 cals worth of fudge and be satisfied. After working on this "diet" for a while, I'm satisfied with my foods a lot quicker (like desserts). The fudge had 5 servings in the container (so I cut it into 5 "even" pieces). Each serving was 170 Calories. I then proceeded to eat 1/4 of that piece (after cutting it as well), which is 42.5 calories.

Personally, I still eat anything that I enjoy. To many, that is a dieting no-no, but to me that is the only way that I will stick to this change. The only difference is, I have to regulate my portion sizes. To me, everything is fine in moderation. :) I hope that helped

Thanks girl! I'm trying! I definitely did well, especially considering it was the weekend. Maybe I did better because I slept in, so I had less time to eat? LOL! Or maybe I did better because Greg is gone, so I'm not tempted to eat the food that he does. Could be either one, or both.

Haha Gizmo is so cool. I love "Gremlins" Well, I used to anyway...haven't watched it in along time.

Softball...ahhhh it's great. Why don't you play recreationally or something? That's cool that you used to play baseball. I played softball throughout school. Now I play slow pitch. I miss the speed and competition in fast pitch but hey I'm still hitting, throwing, and catching the ball. lol! :)

I ran on the elliptical for 35 minutes. Burning appx 420 Calories. YAYYY I think I could've stopped at the 20 minute mark. lol But I wanted to keep going! Yay for me!

I also did upper body weights. No lower body, my legs were TIRED. lol

Softball... AWSOME! I would love, love, love to join some sport. I never ever was in a sports team of any kind. I like volleyball. But I would just feel like an oaf!
My little Ally bought the movie "Gremlins" from walmart for $6 last week. I thought it would scare the daylights ouuta here but all she does is roll on the floor laughing.
Our Gizmo (guinea pig) is white with a little brown on his head, just like the Mugwai.

GOOD THING! That you did not name him mac! Totally remainds me of McDonalds. DOH!

And yes, we eat "finger nail's worth" of fudge every now and then. For some of us it's the only way to stay sane! tee hee Just enough to kill the crave! ;)

wow!

That is completly amazing! If I had 1/4 of 1/5 (or whatever) of fudge, I'd be like 'give me all! must eat all!' The only thing like that, that I can eat small, is hard candy :(
Good for you!!!! :)

That's great that you gave yourself the extra push to go to 35 minutes on the elliptical the other day. I did the same thing and I was so happy afterwards. :)

Went to the gym
Did 7 minute warm up on the bike
Ran 5 minutes but it didn't feel right (Couldn't get on the ellipticals, they were taken, so i had to get on a different one and didn't like it)
So instead I just lifted weights the rest of the time. Upper and lower both

That's great that you still exercised even though the machine you like was taken. Great job...I hate lifting weights. You always do so great on your cals.
