Hello everyone! Well I would love to join Relly's support thread, what an awesome idea :). My goals are to eat more like some of the successful people on our forum such as Omega. It will be HARD to stomach a bunch of veggies and fruits cuz I've never been much into them, but I know how much better I will feel and hopefully this will inhibit the insulin hormone rise, which in turn inhibits fat burning. I just have to keep figuring out how to get off of this plateau, and this is my new thing, starting semi today and full on tomorrow. I read this ebook yesterday and will follow that specific diet, which ends up being a variation of Omega's diet. I already did my shopping, bought a bunch of fresh, organic mostly fruits and veggies, some raw unsalted nuts, and raw almond butter. I just ate the yummy almond butter on an apple. And also encompasses a lot of raw foods like Alta, who was so successful shedding fat. The plan is also to try to do some HIIT rather than stead state cardio to see if that will kick in some fat burning? Lord knows everything I've tried has failed to work so far, so will incorporate this and see. Best to everyone :).

Omega, you are certainly a hard worker and have earned it! I think you totally have what it takes to keep it off.

I had another great day yesterday, eating and working out anyways. I did upper body, a little bit of running, eliptical and swimming and lots of stretching again.

I weighed 197.0 this morning so that is 3 lbs in 2 days. LOL I wish it would continue for another 10 lbs or so but I know better. :D

I really haven't been around lately, but Relly so wonderfully invited me to join, so I would like to if its not too late.

I have been very tired lately because my part time job has turned into a full time job, not to mention the commitments I already have 2-3 days/nights a week. I need to focus a bit more than I have been.

There are a lot of things I need to work on, but for week 1, here are my goals:
-less/NO fast food.
-More veggies/fruits instead of chips
-No ice cream
-Going to the Gym when I have free time.
-Snack Less

Week 1 (monday's) starting weight: 208 pounds.

Ok so, I ate well, lots of protein no veg thou..oh not true i had hamburger soup for dinner it has a fair amount of veg in it...carrots and celery and such...cant remeber what else...I took my vitamins, went for a walk, meditated and boy it felt great! did p90x and went all day with out junk fast food or POP...Boy the pop was hard this evening, I was feeling so tired and had a wicked headache...I found somethign that I enjoy tho...I have been using the real lemon lemon juice, one cup and mixing it in a jug of 60 oz of water and some splenda, yum, it is giving me tha tedge that pop did, lol...Oh and i drank my water a cpl liters anyway

Hey all!

I'm going to come join in here as well... I really need to get myself motivated again. The past 2-3 weeks have been a bit scary, reverting back to old ways, trying to get control, losing it, trying again, screwing it up, and now I have decided to just start with teensy tiny things, one thing a week, to change my life to what I want to live.

WEEK 1:

Wake up at 6:30 am
Do body weight exercises on my mat

THAT IS IT. I did this Monday through to Thursday already, and plan to keep it up all week (including the weekend).

Next week I will pick one other small thing to focus on. I think it will be pre-preparing lunch for work, as I have been really lazy lately!

I hope you all are doing well with your goals today!

I think this is a great way to do it...add one new thing a week and are you gonna continue on with the things from the previous weeks as well?

Yep, that is the idea.

And that's why it's so important I don't add more than a TINY thing each week which takes little effort. I have ALWAYS been too hard on myself, all or nothing, you know the type (we're on a weightloss forum, hehe)

So that is why I want to "install" these new habits one at a time, slowly building up and always improving myself. I do not see an end point to any of these little things per week, and obviously, if goals change, I'll change my habits to match them. But the idea is that if I want to start running in the morning, I already have that "habit" of waking early and exercising installed.

Ugh, today I'm talking so much and really don't care to go back to edit for clarity, i hope that made sense!

Done well with my new food plan, at least Day 1 that is. You should've seen me yesterday! I really milked that "last day" mentality, mixed with the "its my birthday so I get to eat my cake and chocolates" mentality. Not great for a diet I'll tell ya! So here's what I've had so far:

Breakfast: 1 egg fried in coconut oil, 1 cup blueberries, tea w/ almond milk
Snack: 1 green apple w/ almond butter (raw/unsweetened)
Snack: nuts
Lunch: 1 egg; 1/4 avocado
Dinner: 2 servings ground beef w/ mexican seasoning; 1/4 avocado; 1/4 large tomato; onion; grated cheddar cheese

No breads, potato, rice, sugar, fruit juice, candy, cakes etc etc etc. Hey, calorie counting does NOT work for me anymore so now I'm going with food types instead. Of course these types of foods keep the calories relatively low at the same time, but I sure hope the removal of the simple carbs (even whole grains) does the trick. I am not hopeful but will just keep at it as I've tried just about everything else.

Hope everyone is reaching their goals today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLANCITA [COLOR="Black" Even though you had the *last day before the diet* Its my Birthday!!!* Mentality, you got yourself on track today. Consider it a late B~Day gift to yourself. ;)[/COLOR]

Hopefully tonight I can find my BIG tape measure and get Dan to take my measurements for me. (we will see if he can keep his mind on task.... lol, such a dog, but Iluv him)

35 minutes of interval walking and running on the treadmill this morning for 450 calories burned. I think my high was 176 and my average heart rate was 150.

And also encompasses a lot of raw foods like Alta, who was so successful shedding fat. Hey Claud, good to see ya here:)My mom has been talking to me abt going raw...Im unsure I can afford it or convince the kids to do it...food combining is also good, might bwe a thought to look into that as well, appearantly it really works, I have a book on it...

Hey all!

Well, don't know what happened this morning, but managed to oversleep by 30mins once I thought I had woken up! So there was no time for the exercise mat this morning, but I'm keen to do it later today.

I have ONE MORE thing I want to do this week, and that is a run. Any distance, any effort level, just a run. REMEMBER WHY I RUN.

I will report back.

And well done for yesterday everybody!

Looks good my dear:)Im trying to do the same thing and im in the same boat as you...im trying for no carbs...i had a bun on Wed with my soup and that is all I have had since Mon...

Thanks brazenlysweetie! I must say I didn't feel at all guilty by the 5 or so slices of my birthday cake I had! There is still one of the two cakes left, and a bit of the one I kept eating at. I didn't dare go near it yesterday though and I think I'm still feeling the effects of the sugar. I did admittedly go into this no simple carb diet with a BANG!! My poor H and baby discovered the last 2 pieces of the chocolates I scarfed down in my little birthday sugar binge..and I was glad to see em all go.

NOW! I am giving this diet a shot, like Relly, because we can never seem to shed our weight no matter what we do. Rell this is so cool that we're following the same diet. I read this free ebook, which is probably all total bull shit I realize, that says that you will not be in fat burning mode for 24 to 48 hours after eating even just 25 grams of simple carbs over the course of the whole day (but not including carbs from fruit/veggies/nuts which you can eat in abundance). The book says you will shed mostly water weight for the first week or two, and then you will start to shed one or two pounds of fat per week. The theory in the book is that the liver cannot release fat burning hormones in the presence of sugar or something to that effect lol. While this sounds hokey this is actually how things work, you need certain hormones to burn fat and certain hormones inhibit and prevent any fat burning--this is well known scientifically. So then if simple carbs cause the release of hormones (insulin being one) which inhibit fat burning for 1 to 2 days, then it makes you wonder why so many people, including myself, have lost weight eating simple carbs?! There is SO MUCH conflicting information out there gosh its hard to decipher, but I'm just trying different things and taking it all with a big grain of salt!

Rell, what types of foods are you eating now? Val and Alta seemed to be doing well on their raw diet. I know I could never keep it up, but in the back of my mind I'm trying to get more raw foods just knowing how much better it is.

I need to go on a shop but i have just been focusing on like salmon, veg, yoguart, sonny boi...
