Hi guys!
I thought I must be a little vain wanting to lose only 16 pounds but I'm only
5' 0" tall so that is a lot of extra weight. I started my journey on March 12 and I've lost 12 pounds to date. I've been exercising 6 days a week and I've really changed my diet and eating habits tremendously. In the beginning I thought this was going to be the hardest thing I have ever done but the longer I go, the more I realize it's not that hard after all. It all depends on what you want and how bad you want it. I used to be the biggest fan of junk food and now I don't touch a bite. I am eating "clean" as they say in the gym. After a couple of months you get used to it and don't really miss the bad food. I drink about half a gallon of water throughout the day and that helps. I get to eat 6 times a day which is great because I love to eat. I work out 2 hours a day (1 hour cardio and 1 hour weight/strength training). Sometimes I think that is a bit much but I'm enjoying it so much and my body is changing for the better. I am loving it! I've always had a few extra pounds but was never willing to give up the junk food. Now that I'm almost 40 I realized I needed to make a change - fast. It's hard to lose just a few pounds because your body doesn't want to give them up. The body is resistant to change. It wants to hold onto that fat in case you ever need it. I just wanted to say to anyone reading this who might feel discouraged about not losing the weight/size as fast as they would like to - keep at it - it works. It's not easy but the fat WILL come off. Do your cardio and strength training and, most importantly, don't eat refined sugars or white flour. This will help you more than you know. And don't forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day! Good luck everyone.
