Weight-Loss 2014 Orange and Purple Party Games Challenge

Weight-Loss
Healthlife has been removed from the forum for spamming. This means that purple team has one less player than orange.

If anyone is wondering how to fill in the scoresheet as you go along - I have just updated mine to reflect the following situation:
I have done 300 minutes of exercise.
I have logged my food for 2 days
I have analysed my naughty food for 2 days.

Someone sent me a message asking for guidance.

There...I fixed it, HAHAHA

LOL I would never say or think such a thing.

There is always a tip of the iceberg principle going on. For every one person that asks a question - another nine people are wondering the same question but a little apprehensive about asking so sitting quietly hoping that someone else asks it...

I have some excellent news! Loch is joining this challenge this Saturday at the start of the second week.

She is joining the purple team.

:blush5: At least one other. i get it now.

Welcome Loch and good luck!

The first week where we earned bonus points by logging our food and also thinking about our moods and reasons for eating naughty things is coming to an end.

On Saturday - be sure to update your scoresheet to reflect your weight and all the points you have earned by losing weight, exercising and collecting those bonus points.

Saturday is also when week 2 starts.

Many of us don't consistently get enough water each day. It's important for our bodies to be properly hydrated for many reasons. One of those reasons is that it helps our bodies to function well, helps our skin, and the biggest reason for us is that when we're dehydrated, our bodies hold on to the water it has, causing water retention, making the number on the scale higher. When we're properly hydrated, that excess water is flushed out of our systems. Proper hydration also helps prevent constipation--along with fibre.

So this week's challenge is to drink at least 1oz (29.5735ml) of water for every 2lbs of your weight. 2 points for each day. For those of you doing metric, just round down to the nearest whole number. For example, if you weigh 200 lbs you divide it by 2, giving you 100. 100 X 29.5735= 2,957.35. So you'd drop off the .35 and drink 2,957ml of water per day. Or, 1kg= 32.53ml of water.

I remember only too well how that can translate into quite a lot of water if we are on the big side.
I will therefore allow people to claim a reduced level of 1 point if they didnt manage it - but managed to drink at least 2 litres. This should encourage people to at least have some water and not just quit without trying - convinced that they could never do it...

I do however think that logging food like we have done in week 1 is very important to keep us aware of what we are really having... I will therefore give 1 point if you continue to log food in your team thread.

That makes a total of three bonus points that you can claim every day.

If I manage to drink my full allocation of water on 4 days and manage to have at least 2 litres on 2 days plus logged my food on 5 days - I would anticipate that this would be shown on my scoresheet as something like the following
22122x1 yyyxxyy

Sorry Angel.

I'm not going to allow herbal teas because it could open the floodgates to people claiming almost any liquid counted as water... Even my diet cola (and I have been drinking a lot of it) contains a high proportion of water.

I am wanting people (including myself) to get back into the swing of drinking water for a lot of the time. It is something that I did in my big project. I havent been drinking nearly enough water recently.

Thank you. That's cool. I worked it out, I need to drink 2173ml everyday. I am drinking 2250ml most days plus the teas. So I should be ok. :)

I wish that I was drinking enough to cover me already... I reckon that I do on days when I have 2 zumba classes (so this week that should be Saturday and Monday) and I do when I have Tuesday night salsa - but I will need a big change to my habits to hit my target on the other days...

I had so many good habits on my big project that I just do not do anymore...

That's a great challenge Omega! I have been trying to drink more water but have been slacking the past few days - must get back on that!

I have stayed away from flavored water so far...but if I added juice crystals like crystal lite - would that still count?

Love the new challenge! Water is something I have been working hard on, it's hard to get as much as I need in. I like the point reduction as well, gives me motivation to at least try.

Holy smokes, that's nearly 7 bottles of water. Water is hard for me, but I really do want to drink more.

As Icy mentioned, is Crystal Light acceptable? I add it to my water when I have dinner.

After much consideration - I'll allow crystal lite or a few drops of lemon juice. I want to encourage people to get the water in...
I suspect that some people cannot cope with the flavour and feel that they need to add something... I want to stay in the theme that it is water that we are drinking and not just any liquid with a water content.

1.3 gallons of water a day for me. That should suck, but I'll give it a go. It seems excessive. I generally drink a gallon a day in summer, but it's harder in the cold of winter. 1 quart down 4.1 to go.

A long time ago I counted my red bull as water. Don't worry, I know the difference now xD.
