hi... count me in too.. im just a little overweight... please tell me how i can start off.... i too want to loose these extra pounds..

First off, let us know your stats- how tall you are, your sex, and your age
Then let us know what your weight loss goals are.

From there we'll be able to give better advice. :)

I too weigh myself daily but I let only my weekly weigh in on Thursdays, 'register' in my head. I think for me, a month is a little too long a time to go by, if a little 'course correction' is needed. Feel more in control this way.
But then, I think this is all in our heads. Each one knows what works for them. So keep at it and you will surely succeed!

Hello everyone, it is okay if you don't lose one week. from the last time i had recorded i never lost any pounds. but i am positive i lost inches i see it in my clothes. so i am not going to let it get me down. I have so much more energy since i started my journey, because of the excercises. Take care everyone keep up the great work, even if you don't lose one week, two week don't give up.

Another successful week! I actually lost 3 pounds this week... well, almost. I'm short 0.2 for the whole three pounds. One thing I find interesting is though my weight is down, my BMI is up. Why is that?

Starting weight: 253

First weigh in: July 11, 249.4 - BMI 36%

2nd weigh in: July 18, 247.4 - BMI 34%

******** two week screw up period **********

3rd weigh in: August 1, 247.4 - BMI 34%

4th weigh in: August 8, 244.2 - BMI 35.4%

I don't see how your BMI could be up if you lost weight, doesn't the only thing BMI calculate is weight vs height?

I haven't lost any weight this week, but having lost 6 1/2 lbs last week I guess that's to be expected. I've been on a mini plateau for the past 8 days, but that usually proceeds a drop of several pounds within a 2 or 3 day period. I tend to lose in "stalls and whooshes".

Just wanted to throw it out there....I am dreading weighing in tomorrow, but whatever it is I will post. I have to get my butt in gear this week!!!

Whatever the outcome, don't let it make or break you. :) This is a lifestyle change - no quit-sies! lol

Thanks Stacy. Don't worry, no quitter here! I just know I did not do my best this last week. Tomorrow is a new day and the start of a new week so only good choices from here on out! :)

I know you were worried about not losing a whole 2 pounds this week, but you did lose! You're heading in the right direction. I had a setback not too long ago myself, so I know how you're feeling.

Thanks. You're right, it was better than I thought it would be. I just know I can do better than this, but at least I'm still losing. I'm kicking it into high gear this week though! Congrats yourself for getting back on track! :)

Bah, I think I need to drop out of the club. It's been 10 days since the scale moved (in the RIGHT direction). In fact it's shown a 4 lb gain (which I know is impossible given how many calories I eat and how much exercise I get). I know it's just water weight, but it's making me crazy!

Give it a couple of days and you will see a new "whoosh". Like you said yourself, thats how you tend to lose the weight.
So don't give up. We are all in this together!

True that, it just makes it impossible for me to lose 2 lbs a week, because I tend to have stall periods where I go 9 - 12 days without losing anything and then suddenly I lose about 6 - 8 lbs within a couple days. I'll then have a steady weight loss period for a couple weeks, then it starts all over again with the "stalls and whooshes". lol There is no steady weight loss for me. Since starting my new healthy lifestyle about 4 months ago this has been the pattern. But I guess I can still keep posting my results. :) I just can't really compete with people who get steady weight loss results.

Thanks for the encouragement, Sooj. :D

We'll see if I'm right on this come Sunday, but my weight has been up and down through this week, but right around last week's weigh in weight. I'm having a "stall" it seems too.

Logic tells me not to just accept it. The next three days are all cardio days, so the plan at this point is to work my butt off, keep to a strict 1,800 cal limit, and no slacking for three days straight.

Normally I allow for a little slack, but I need to hit it hard this next three days if I want to see 242 on that scale Sunday.

I'm technically obese, so it should be easy for me to lose a couple pounds right now, especially if I'm with the program 100%. (as is with anyone who is obese if we're being honest with ourselves).

So, let me be the devil's advocate, and just say try harder.

You can do it!

So, let me be the devil's advocate, and just say try harder.

Give me a break... It has nothing to do with "trying harder". I weigh 350 lbs and I'm living off of 1400 - 1600 calories a day and working out 4 days a week. I've lost over 40 lbs in 3 and 1/2 months. Anyone who knows me knows I'm an upbeat and goodhearted person, but honestly you telling me to "try harder" considering how hard I work just pisses me off! You don't know me and you don't know what I'm going through to live a healthier life style, so save your "try harder" BS for someone who isn't giving it her all. M'kay?

I am behind...

Only one pound lost last week.
But then, I have cheated(ate out a couple of times) and it was bound to happen...
This week I'm going to try harder.
