Todays starting weight 94.2kg
First small goal is to get under 90 kg.
Ultimately I would love to be at 70kg.
I'm a 36 yo mother of 2 little boys.
I want to do a weigh in once a week to map progress. Since I started on a Thursday, I'll probably stick with that day.
I had one time in my life when I successfully lost weight - 20kgs before my wedding. Took me around 6 months. Two pregnancies later I'm fatter than ever.

Hi, Zuzetka & welcome to the forum. What is your plan to lose weight? Calorie counting, low-carb. IF..? Whatever it is, find something that you can sustain long-term so that you will never need to go on another weight-loss diet. I wish I had.

Hi Zuzetka and welcome! So great that you're changing your habits now that your boys are little so you'll be able to model good food habits for them.

Hi ladies. Thank you for your responses!
I think I'm going to stick to calorie counting for now because it's what worked for me before.
Sadly I must say though that today has been a waste. I find it so hard saying NO when I really crave something. I dont want to make excuses but I'm around food all day long - preparing meals and feeding the little ones. It's like torture when you're trying to lose weight.
When I lost the weight prior to my wedding it was so much easier. I prepared my meals for the day in the morning and I didnt have to handle any food after that. Now, however, I feel all of my life revolves around food : shopping, cooking , feeding the kids.
It seems that it's all I do.

I´m assuming you plan ahead for what your kids have though, right? And that you feed them mostly healthy stuff? Maybe you can plan ahead for how much of each thing you can have and still stay in your calories. It´s definitely harder when food is there all the time but having a plan CAN help.

Hello, Zuzetka! Good to meet you. :)
Sympathies on being so close to food all day. Can you have emergency snacks for yourself right close to hand at the same time? Celery and carrots are great - could you have a glass tumbler with celery and carrot sticks nicely prepared there on the bench in front of you as you're cooking for the kids, or giving them their meals?

Thank you for all of your advice. I am trying to stay on course.
One of my problems is finishing the kid's meals when they are done. I hope it doesn't sound gross but I do that often. That almost always takes me over my calorie limit. I have the mentality that I don't like throwing food away. I'm working on changing that habit.
There are other problem areas that I've noticed like wanting to eat alone. I'm trying to fix that, too.
Geez i'm just a mess all around.

Yes, I get this - but it leads to what I identify in myself as treating myself like a garbage bin, and that's not good for either nutrition or self-esteem. If the leftovers (whether on the kids' plates or in the dish) aren't good enough that you would serve it to someone else, then it goes in the bin!

I totally agree with what you're saying. Hearing it from someone else is eye opening. Thank you
Do you have a diary? I would like to read your story

I used to eat the kids' leftovers when they were little too. If what you feed them is really healthy & you have not yet eaten & then adjust your own meal it's ok. I agree with Amy though that we should not treat ourselves like a rubbish bin. We should be nourishing our bodies & respecting them.
You probably don't have much spare time, but if you do sometime I started a motivational thread years ago. You'll find it here- https://weight-loss.fitness.com/threads/motivational-sayings-and-or-affirmations.33533/
Amy's diary is at https://weight-loss.fitness.com/threads/milestones-amys-diary.106484/ Amy is very positive & helpful.

Thanks Amy. I'm slowly exploring the plethora of threads :)

So today was weigh in day.
The scale showed 92.5
So a loss of 1.7 kg .

Cate thanks.
