I understand, it can be hard to do. I have not really found the answer to that, I have just kind of gotten used to not using food for fun and as a social lubricant.I was missing the fun of food I guess I need to find something to replace that.
Yes you are right, LaMaria. I think I have some ideas that will work...flavorful salads.Maybe you need some more fun in your healthy food?
You have a way with words. I was also missing the social side of food. My mind is feeling ready to get back on track so I will start again tomorrow...this time no cheating with meat.I understand, it can be hard to do. I have not really found the answer to that, I have just kind of gotten used to not using food for fun and as a social lubricant.
Now get back on that track!
That's a good idea. I bought some in the past that were frozen but I fell off track and ended up wasting them. I will buy some now as I am a bit more focused.I buy frozen mango instead of fresh because the fresh ones are usually so green they won't ripen. Still delicious either half-frozen or thawed.
Small heads of lettuce...that is really cool. I have never seen any so small. I bought everything I listed and had a really good salad for lunch.Looks like some good planning. I eat a lot of lettuce and salad, one thing I do (that my wife thinks is disgusting) is to buy small heads of lettuce and just eat them whole, kind of like a big apple. Eating one with a meal really helps fill me up, and I have come to like them. The "olives, pickled peppers and house vinaigrette " sound good too.
You are doing great, we need folks like you here, keep up the good work.
Thanks LaMaria very much. I was thinking it was all madness but now I see there was a method. I have spark people. I'll track through there.Looking at what you ate you had next to no planned protein and fat. Then you craved fatty things. As much as I love fruit and veg I'd be starving all day if I tried to have nothing else. It might be helpful to record what you have (and how much of it) in one of the many nutrition apps (myfitnesspal, cronometer, fddb) for a week or two to get a feel for what's what. Giving your body the nutrients it needs can really help with cravings.
Thank you alligatorob. I'm trying my best to press forward. I had watermelon for breakfast today, salad for lunch with applesauce, dinner was apple slices and 15 french fries and my second dinner ( there is a medicine I have to take with food) two eggs scrambled with cheese and half of a waffle ( 225 cal). I can't take the medicine at my first dinner so I try to keep them light. I'll be back to post the calorie count on all of that.Hey Xena, the fact that you are losing weight now is a lot more important than what happened in the past. Pretty much everyone here has gained weight in the past, me a whole lot more than 11 pounds!
You are doing well, keep it up and the weight will go!
I was thinking about doing this today-adding more protein but I left my cashews at home. I had a total of 27g of protein today. I usually have raw apples for dinner. I think once it made me hungrier also. Thanks for the tip!!Hi, Xena. I absolutely must have protein with every meal or I am tempted to eat rubbish. I rarely have cravings unless I am super tired & have got myself into too much of a deficit. For example, if I have fruit for breakfast I have it with Greek-style yoghurt & some almond meal & seeds. The same with oatmeal- I always add yoghurt & seeds. Raw apples on an empty stomach make me even hungrier, but stewed apple with yoghurt is another matter altogether.
