Yes, I have a fridge.

I know there's a limit to how healthy I'll be able to eat without cooked food. I'm just asking people to do their best in telling me what to eat, even if it's harder to figure out a diet without being able to cook it.

I don't need it to be perfectly healthy, because I know that'll be impossible without cooked food. I just need it to be somewhat healthy.

And the sooner someone can give me advice on this, the better. Until then, I'm stuck eating the crap food I've been eating thus far.

your not stuck eating junk. You know on your own that theres salads and plenty of fruits and veggies. If you don't wanna cook i guess that'll be your main focus. can't you get a george foreman grill and cook chicken on that??

Salad and veggies and fruit are good, but they don't have everything. I don't want to wake up 3 months from now to find out that I'm having liver problems because I'm deficient in some nutrient that isn't included in the fruits and veggies I've been eating.

Hmmm, George Foreman grill... I hadn't thought about that. Good suggestion. I need to know more about it, though. Does it take a lot of confusion to set it up? Is it loud? Does it cause the food to smell a lot?

Part of the reason I don't want to cook is because of my social phobias. Cooking causes smells, and I'm very paranoid about my roommate smelling what I'm cooking. And hearing me cooking, too.

no, they dont' have everything...but you said yourself you can't cook...that GREATLY limits your options...can't your mom cook you chicken for a week and you can warm it up at home?
 
What about making sandwiches? Get yourself some cooked chicken breast or turkey breast, or tuna, some bread, veggies and some dressing - there's some tasty stuff out there. A good sandwich can make a full meal, and a tasty one to boot. Also, salads, as other people mentioned, and you can throw some chicken or turkey breast into them.

Do you have any access to cooking equipment at least once in a while? So you could prepare something? Or maybe a microwave? One of these little grill thingies sounds good that somebody suggested - they are not expensive, and you can make a lot on them. Meat, veggies, burgers, it can all go in there. They are easy to set up (unwrap, use - basically), and they don't really make a noise. I don't even think they smell a lot - much less than making something in a pan, for example, but obviously, there will be a bit of cooking smell, depending on what you make.
 
Sliced deli meats like low sodium turkey and chicken, buy some whole wheat bread and make sandwiches to grab and eat. Throw some lettice and tomatoes on them and you have a meal. Greek Yogurt has 2xs the protein as regular yogurt. Cold cereal's there are several brands that are higher in protein and fibers. It's OK to have your protein shakes when your on the go for lunch. You can buy all kinds of tuna, chicken and salman in pre made snack packs that you can take with you or just open and eat. Check out that section in your Safeway store. Does your store have a deli that makes sandwiches there? If so just have them make a few up for you and tell them not to put the condiments on. Mustard is very low in calories. Low fat mayo tastes ok. Buy a roasted chicken in the deli area and just eat it cold but take the fat and skin off. You can buy pre-cut and packaged fresh fruit, salad in a bag all ready to go. If you can't find something your store just ask someone. Let them know you can't cook and your looking for healthy choices to buy. When you buy things in the deli area ask them to look up the calorie and protein for you. They have all the nutritional information right there. Read all your lables so you can figure out your calories for the day and how much you should be eating of each item. Remember it is OK to have those protein shakes just don't have nothing but them. One or 2 a day is fine to help supplement your food.

I hope this information helps. I'm sure others will come up with even more ideas.

The Foreman grills are easy to use but all foods you cook will smell. You can take in outside and use it if there is somewhere to plug it in. Some of them come out of the box ready to use. And they cook the food twice as fast.
 
the food will smell??? are you saying badly?? i've used one for YEARS and never had a bad smell to it
 
Don't think she meant it will smell bad. But you'll get a cooking smell...cooking isn't odour-less. Even though, most cooking smells are actually nice ones. :)

and its possible that you will....thats why i'd like to see you try to find some way of cooking fish or chicken.

theres nothing confusing about setting it up, you literally take it out of the box (give it a wash) and plug it in! super easy! I guess if your concern is the smell of foods cooking, yea, i guess it does smell like food.

I dont' understand your phobia, your fear of not wanting your roommate to smell your food...but i'm not in your shoes either. I just don't know how to help you around that position. The only other thing is what I mentioned before, maybe a friend or family can cook it for you and then you can store it and warm it up or eat it cold later.

No I didn't mean bad smells. I meant all cooking has some odor. Usually good unless I burn something! :smilielol5:

Perhaps. But I don't really feel like flying all the way from Arizona to Ohio and back every single week to get cooked chicken from my mom- just wouldn't be practical. She's always said that I'm actually a better cook than she is, anyway.

Chicken sounds good. Maybe I can cook that on the Foreman grill. Tuna is a big no-no. I've stopped eating tuna since I heard about the mercury poisoning it can give you. I can eat some fruit, too. Do veggies take any time to prepare, or can I just stick them in my mouth?
 
Ok, so far I've decided that I'm gonna get one footlong chicken breast sub from subway every day. It'll be on honey oat bread with some sweet onion sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and cucumbers. Here are the nutrition facts:

I need another 980 calories to satisfy my 1800 daily caloric intake. Can someone else tell me what else to eat in addition to this in order to satisfy the other nutritional needs and make for a healthy diet? I know there's a lot of sodium, so I'll need other foods that are low in sodium. I know it's lacking in other things, so I'll need to fill in for that stuff, too. I don't have a clue what else to eat. Can someone tell me?
 
Why exactly can't you cook any food? I must have skimmed over where you'd explained.

Eating the same food every day isn't idea because it can lead to malnutrition.

Regarding the shakes, my sister did a shakes only diet for a year and lost 100lbs. So it can work. Did she keep it off? Nope. This time around she's eating proper food and working out which I'm 100% certain will be more effective.

Oh and chicken in a George Foreman is great. Make sure to defrost it first and flatten it out good before grilling it.

yea, thats how i make chicken, on the GF grill. I sprinkle some seasoning on it as well. Is mercury in tuna still an issue?? i dunno, I dont' eat much of it myself. I only suggest fish to you b/c I know it has some nutritional values..i myself dont' eat it though...but i was trying to throw out ideas for you.

Sure you can just eat veggies raw if you want, no reason to make things more complicated than it has to be. Maybe you can cut up some celery and carrots, ect and throw them in a ziplock bag and take them with you for snacks??

Don't buy subway...save your money, invest in a cooking class/book, and buy some fresh produce, chicken, ww bread, and a water bottle. Subway is not a sustainable lifestyle...if you are serious about a healthy diet - learn how to cook, and be open to trying it. If you're not willing to prepare food for yourself, and put the effort into cooking, then you won't be able to sustain a healthy longterm diet.

Suggestions - apples, bananas, salad fixings, carrots/celery/cucumber/tomatos,eggs, oatmeal, avocados, almonds, cooked chicken purchased at a grocery store, canned tuna, milk products or milk alternative, yogurt..there's so much there...

Are you use to going to the grocery store? Do you know where it is in your neighbourhood? You will find 1) cooking at home can be faster than going out and bringing premade food home, 2) tastier than premade food, and 3) YOU WILL SAVE MONEY.
 
what about dairy, like milk and yogurts?? cerial?? theres lots of good cerials on the market.
