Why do you want to lose weight?

Plain and simple I want to lose weight to be healthy. Maybe more accurately, I want to be healthy and weight loss should be a symptom of that. Why do I want to be healthy? Well, I would like to be able to do more with my body than I am able to now. I'd like to be more alert and perform better at my job and excel professionally. I'd like to be around to raise my kids and then be there to enjoy life with them as adults and help out with my grand kids when that time comes. Good health makes everything better, and I want everything to be better. :)

I want to lose weight because my entire life I've been the bigger kid. You know, the last one picked for everything, the one that everyone decided it would be great to mess with. I have no idea what it would even feel like to be skinny. I have so many medical issues because how much I weigh and how unhealthy I am. I just turned 18 and I'm at a high risk for diabetes, have high blood pressure, and have GERD (which a doctor said has to do with my weight). It's ridiculous. It sucks because everyone I know wears these super cute clothes and can shop at any store, but I struggle finding cute teenage clothes online. Ugh, we'll all get to our goals sooner or later.

I think why people want to lose weight is because they need to look more nicer and have healthier body. It is just the most precious thing for people especially women who have good looking body and also healthy, in fact, this is what everybody really want and needs, don't you agree?
 
I wanted to avoid cancer which has affected several of my family members. I have reached my goal weight of 165 pounds and I am now I am focused on maintaining my weight.
 
I want to lose weight because I'm not longer happy with my physical self after 4 kids and just being lazy I've put on way too much weight.

Very interesting question. I'm gonna give you my version.
Since I gave birth to my daughter it seemed like pounds just wouldn't go and stay off. I was always saying..I'm gonna have to start a new diet but most of times was never actually serious..was resisting the entire day without a sweet or bread and at 8:30 pm was eating it.
The wake up call for me was: I went to a clothes shop to upgrade my wardrobe..chose a bunch of really nice things and when I went to the fitting room my jaw dropped because everything was either too tight or looked like u would dress a pig with fancy clothes. I could not stop sobbing... and the unpleasant surprise was so big because at home I didn't had a full length mirror to see myself how big I become. So I left all my clothes in there...went and bought a bloody mirror instead and started dieting.
So I'd say...for myself!! because I'm not happy with the way I look, don't feel fit at all and recently I had cholesterol showing up in my blood tests!
 
I need to lose weight because....

- I need a social life, I'm 16, for petes sake :(
- Clothes
- I'm ashamed
- I always feel like everybody I see is staring at me like I'm an alien
- I want to inspire my mom to do it to. She went to the hospital yesterday for blood pressure...
- I want to call up old friends and show them how much I've changed
- I want to go back to school, and quit online school
 
The reasons for me losing weight are

1. I want to be ready for any sport for the season.
2. Want to play with my kids with out losing breath....


I went to Hawaii last year and really wanted to learn how to surf. I snowboard here in canada so thought it would be a nice transition. I had a rude awakening when trying to surf on the board. First it was so hard to swim that far because of being so big... and then my agility was not as great because of all the weight I'm carrying. I play sports regularly but only like once or twice a week, but my stamina is terrible. So I've made a conscience decision for a lifestyle change. So that's my # 3

3. I wanted a lifestyle change.
 
I want to feel good, I lost some weight before and felt unstopable and it felt great, almost like I had an S on my chest
 
i desperately want to lose weight

-so that people stop naming me as the fat daughter of my father compared to my slim and gorgeous sister
-my forever dream;to be able to wear a bikini, this is much of an essential outfit where i live, its always sunny and we have great sea and beaches
-to be able to dance when i go out partying every Saturday night instead of always be in bad mood and trying every excuses why i dont dance
-to be able to show every people who called me fat and ugly that im much better than them
-to be able to wear dresses im dying to wear since years
-to be able to walk in a restaurant or walking on the road without having the feeling that im the biggest elephant people have ever seen
-lose weight so that my husband can lift me and be proud of what i would have achieve
-to be able to b a slim mother so that my children are proud of me
-to have self confidence
and finally yo live happily without caring wat others may think of me

I have back problems. Getting to a healthy weight won't eliminate them, but it will help a lot!

I also would LOVE to fit into my old clothes again!
