The lowest prices we've seen for Myoplex Lite are on n101.com, though we now buy from drugstore.com, because with our GNC Gold member discount, it is a little bit cheaper than n101.com.
 
Myoplex lite sells for 54$ plus shipping at bulknutrition, Id still recommend just a protein shake, lots cheaper. its like 1.25$ per serving with myoplex and less than .50% per serving with protein shakes. and bicker myoplex is cheaper at bulknutrition.com. Lol I sound like a sales rep for them but they give good service and I respect that. I am very anti GNC lol, I go there and laugh at how bad they rip people off. I see too much stuff like 2 times more money than I buy online. Whatever you get make sure you buy a good shaker bottle or two, because they will not mix good enough with a spoon. Make sure you drank your water today!

Thanks for the pointer to bulknutrition.com. We may need that eventually. Drugstore.com is even cheaper than bulknutrition, with the Gold Card member discount, and doesn't charge for shipping either. (BTW, Cappuccino flavor doesn't come in the 42-pack boxes.)
 
Protein Drink

I really think that the chocolate Whey protein drink by optimun nutrition ROCKS !!!!!

Anyone Else Agree ?

I have a 10 lb bag of the stuff, I believe its my second one in like 3 months. cheap and good high quality too.
 
I use the Chocolate Mint protein shake by Optimum Nutrition and I like it so much better than the plain chocolate. It tastes like one of those chocolate mint cookies. It's so yummy. I also have tried the vanilla - it's alright, not the best. If you love chocolate mint - go for that one, it's great, and it's a good buy.
 
"Optimum Nutritions brand, 100% whey Protein" By far the best...myoplex is sooo expensive considering what you are getting.

Optimum has 20grams 3 diff type whey protien...100cal...3grams carbs...very low fat...

mix 1scoop of that with 8oz of fat free milk u got urself 30grams protien 7grams carbs and only 200calories...almost no fat...GOOD STUFF
 
Protein before or after?

So if you are lifting weights and stuff.. should you eat/take in proteins before you work out, or after?
 
in short, both :) ... you need it for your workout to reduce any muscle burning during the workout, and you need it after to help in the rebuilding of your muscles
 
Shakes

For a variety of shakes try mixing your protein powder(this is what i did with my shakes they came already flavored like chocolate and vanilla) with one cup of fruit and skim milk or water. here's a favorite:
In a blender put-
protein powder(chocolate)
1 banana
3 ice cubes
skim milk(375ml for the brand i was using)
(you can vary the fruit(like strawberries)and powder flavor(like vanilla)
then blend til its smooth.

here's another of my favorites
chocolate protein powder(what ever your brand recomends)
skim milk(what ever your brand recomends)
1 Tbs of instant coffee
4 ice cubes
put in a blender and blend until smooth
kind of tastes like an icecap from Tim Hortons! :)
 
Yup, you need before and after. Also, remember to eat your carbs. Complex carbs prior to working out will give you sustained energy for your workout, and simple carbs post-workout will help replace glycogen lost during your workout :)

Here's one I make:

1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 banana
1/2 cup oj
ice cubes

you could substitute the oj with skim milk if you prefer :)
 
protein before a workout helps in 2 ways ... 1) your body already will have some extra stores of protein to help in the muscle rebuilding process after a workout .. 2) when you do any amount of hard work (ie. cardio), your body burns a certain amount of protein .. if you don't have any redely available sources, it goes to your muscles and starts burning them ... that's why HIIT is so highly recommended for your cardio work, especially for guys.
