Still working in the Charity Shop. Pretty much doing it on my own by now, even though I shouldn't....lol.
Got a 'Thank you' card and some chocolates today - we had a new manager coming in for 4 weeks, and she had no idea what was going on, and most of our volunteers just didn't come in, so it was just her and me most of the time. Now she's going back to the place she usually works, and she gave me the card this morning, because, as she said, 'I would have been lost without your help here, wouldn't have been able to keep the shop open without you'. That was nice. I don't think I'm doing anything special (and I'm enjoying it a lot as well), but it's just nice to hear that you're doing something good every now and again. I left the chocolates in the shop though. Too much temptation!
Other than that, did I mention that we have two more cats? Two rescue kittens, 12 weeks old. They were undernourished and absolutely terrified of humans when we got them (they'd been mistreated), but by now they let me touch them, pick them up, and I even get the occasional purr. I just don't understand how somebody can mistreat (as in kick, hit and THROW) kittens that are only a few weeks old. Or any animal, of any age really. Some people are just sick bastards! Sorry for the rant, but stuff like that really gets to me.
