What are you training for?

Perormance

My training is designed to of course keep me strong, fast and as agile as the cheetah which coincidently keeps my CV systems healthy. At 36 I can still compete with 20 year old in Ironman distance triathlons. And easliy win my age division!

Why do you train?

I guess another interpretation other than the one I posted would be, to administer and recieve violence more efficiently. I'm a big performance guy but my emphasis and intent is more violent than others'.

Says the guy who only dreams about competing...for now.

why?

well because im workin on becoming a navy SEAL. so have to pass the screening test for started but im mainly training to prevent any injures and be in good shape when i get the the one of the most intense military trainings on the planet. i dont want to get injured and have to drop out for a medical reason. and it is a very physical training so need to be ready for anything they want to throw at me. and i also think that if my son sees me training all the time he will want to join me and not sit around and play video games and be a couch potato. he's almost 2yrs old, but if start now he will see it and understand it

Lead by example.

soma15 says "How many guys do you know that are>200lbs can run a sub 6 minute mile do 75 pushups or spend heated hours with their women in the bedroom?"

ME! I am one. I do not look cut and all that, but I can do what you say here. in the bedroom the sweat is quite de-hydrating,,,,,,!!!! i like what you say..............but ... for me today! performance is not enough!!! I also want to look good! why? because it "looks good."

I am just now finding out that your view (not you, but your view) (i am as barbaric as it gets but....), which was once totally mine. This view MAY be a lil bit rooted in 'gluttony.' I am willing to sweat and work, so i can have, do, eat, and be whatever i want. It lacks discipline. this place seems to be all about discipline.

But in case you ARE the man, and DO wanna play, i started a thread for one-ups-manship!!!

edit: i just noticed your other post that mentions your age 36! kooodos to your view. I am 39. Do not wish to retract anything i have said, and i am calling you out, in respect. (many here are youngsters) to you- namaste! knowng you are 36 and triathelete tells me you ALSO will push well past injury. see you at the other thread....IF yer even still around! *wink*

I'm not really training for anything. I just want to be in shape and as healthy as possible. Also, I'm trying to get it better shape to serve the Fire Department better. Our last fire found myself running back and forth between a burning house and the pumpers for about three hours in flooded area......so, where there wasn't two feet of water there was a foot of soupy mud. :(

I started training because I was fat and gross, and I wanted to be less fat and less gross. And now I love working out, crazy right?

Now I cant get enough of nutrition and fitness and am considering a degree in Exercise Science as well as Business.

One of the reasons I train is for the looks but thats not all. I mostly train because it will help me in my sports.(basketball/lacrosse/football)
