Hi, I am new to this forum and just wanted to share few thoughts about this topic.
I admire every one of you for your persistence. So to give you a little bit more encouragement here is some advice:

Weight yourself everyday about the same time (best time is in the morning) and dressed about the same (or even better...I do it in my underwear every time).
I use the weighing machine that also shows you the percentage of fat and water in your body (it is actually very accurate because the measurement is processed through a small amount of electricity that is being sent to your body through your feet - you have to be bare footed - different type of tissue reacts to it differently so the weighing machine can show you exactly what your body is made of in percentages. It is completely safe and you don't feel a thing).
I love it so much because I can really monitor what kind of weight I am losing or gaining - water or fat. We all know that losing water is not really losing the weight. And most of diets actually do that.

But you have to be very careful when using this type of weighing machine because you can get discouraged very soon. It really shows everything you eat. For example if you eat some nuts or let's say cheese in the evening and then you weight yourself in the morning, it will definitively show in fat percentage (sometimes even few percent difference) and this must not scare you. It is actually very good for considering what you actually put in your body. And it is more accurate than counting the calories, because calories don't tell you how much fat is actually in the food you eat.

I hope this helps a little bit. I've been struggling with weight ever since I remember, tried so many diets and then finally realized that diets won't help me. I had to change my life and I've been satisfied with my weight for more than two years now. I learned a lot in this time and I feel like sharing all this knowledge that I have with the rest of you who still can't find the way out of this every going battle. Say for the sake of easy calculations that you weigh 100 pounds. Day 1, your scale shows 25% body fat. So you've got 25 pounds of fat, and 75 pounds of lean mass.

That night, you eat an entire pound of nuts (mmmm, nuts), for the sake of taking this to an extreme. And Day 2, you weigh 101 pounds, but have 27% body fat. Which means you'd be at 27.27 pounds of fat, and 73.73 pounds of lean mass.

From this you conclude that your body converted the entire pound of nuts plus some to fat, rather than that BIA has a fairly wide margin of error, and can be easily thrown off by changes in hydration?
