No, not really. Just working on maintaining. As long as the scale doesn't go above 130 or below 120, I'm calling it good. Where I am now, normal fluctuation won't push me over 130; 124-128 seems to be the range.

Personally, I'm finding maintaining to be very frustrating. Too much inclination to want to see the scale creep lower. I see a lot more upward variance in the scale without an underlying ongoing loss pulling things down, and I haven't yet wrapped my head around that. I'm eating significantly more food, but not feeling more satisfied. (And I wasn't unsatisfied eating less! I do think I've filled in the former deficit with more junk, though.) Feeling unmotivated to excercise, which I'd been diligent in keeping up with.

One thing I learned recently: if I'm losing weight, I can put a carton of ice cream back after one bite and feel done. If I'm maintaining, I need to get a bowl out, or I will eat much more than a serving and still not feel done. I've got a calorie budget big enough to accomodate that, but ice cream isn't particularly nutritious.

I've heard from just about everyone who's maintaining that it's the toughest part of the journey. I wonder if it ever gets easier. It's daunting. It's really all psychological (in my opinion), now you know your at your goal weight (or below goal weight) you tell yourself you can have more, hence the urge to get out the bowl and big spoon.

Stick at it. You've come too far. I have faith in you, you've done so well.

The Weight Control Registry studies say that for people who didn't do liquid diets, maintaining is easier than losing - but they only look at people who have already been maintaining successfully for at least a year. So I think that I'll eventually settle into a happy medium. Change is hard, and maintaining takes different mental skills than losing.
