Hey all!! I know you started this challenge like, ages ago, but is it too late for me to join??

I'm Kez, been on my new lifestyle (trying not to think of it as a diet!!) For 4 weeks, and have lost about 10pounds (it goes up and down a little and I've been on a plateau for a week-Im blaming probs with TOM!!!) But anyway, enough of that.

My current weight is 158 pounds. And there are 11 weeks til xmas. Hmmm. I want to be realistic, but ambitious!! Difficult balance. I'm gonna say I want to lose 25 pounds by then. Sounds like a LOT but I think I can do it!! It's just over 2pounds a week,and until last week I was managing that!! So I want to be 133 pound by then. Eeeek!!!! If I can do that I'll be almost at my long term goal anyway!!!!!

I get really excited thinking about loosing weight etc, and I feel so much healthier already, are you guys the same??

I'm seriously beginning to doubt if I'll lose anymore weight ever!!! The scale is lying to me--I've been stuck between 179.5 and 181 for two freakin' weeks now. It's highly annoying.

Maybe if you threaten to replace it? Have you been writing everything down that you're eating? I know you do with your exercise...
 
Hello,all! I would like to join in the challenge. My starting weight is 290 and my goal weight by Christmas is to be 285. I just need to motivation.
A little about myself... I am 30 yrs old (soon to be 31...ugh), have a dh of 11 1/2 years and a 10 yr old son who keeps my active with all his sports. I work full time and recently have had some medical problems. I have always been healthy, but it was like I turned 30 and started falling apart. Had to have gallbladder taken out about 3 months ago, and now my blood pressure keeps hitting stroke level (it has always been 120 something/ 70 something until now). I am on my second medication, but I think if I lose some weight it will help more. On with the challenge :0)-

Hey Beth!! Welcome to the forum and the challenge!!

I think you can totally lose 5 pounds...way before Christmas!! What are you goals for nutrition and exercise that will help you lose the weight?

I really need to start eating more... I know that sounds weird, but I do better eating 3 meals a day with a couple of snacks. I did south beach before about 3 years ago and lost 60 + pounds in about 7 months( then my dh lost his job and my stress eating came back to haunt me and I gained back more than I lost) I want to get back on the schedule I was on at that time. For exercise I am going to start out with my walk away the pounds tape and work my way up to some kind of strength training. What kind of exercise are you doing?

Error *** I meant to put goal weight at 275 by Christmas. 15 pounds... totally capable of that... I usually lose big the first couple of weeks I start, then a couple of pounds a week (I hope) :0)-

I do a whole assortment of exercises...I ride a stationary bike and do a lot of weight lifting.

dari: I use fitday and aside from my burger attack all my calories are within an 1100-1300 range.
 
Just wanted to drop in and see how everyone was doing :) So awesome that more and more people want to join in!
I dunno.. feels more motivating knowing that other people are doing the challenge as well.. ya know?
Keeps ya wanting to do better!

Anywho! Hope everyone is doing what they gotta do to lose the weight! :D

I am joining in as well - I know I dont have a lot of time till christmas - only 12 weeks but even if I only lose half a pound a week that is 6pounds less than now. BUT I AM HOPING FOR MUCH MORE!!!

I have finally started to lose the weight. I am so excited! I went food shopping last night and have plenty of fruits and vegetables to make the pounds come off.

I started counting my calorie intake on Wednesday. I was hoping to only have 1200/day. I was straving both wednesday and thursday. I can't even image how many calories I was eating before. My husband told me not to think about that and just concentrate on making better food choices and I will see the weight come off.

Oh and I feel bad about getting cranky with him when I came home from work and was hungery and only had 450 calories left for the day. But he is great and we went for sushi and I was able to get full and not go over the count by much.

Do you think I should be counting right now or should I just be making better choices and portion control in the beginning?

Gonnalose: your right... only a little over 2 months til Christmas. It will be here before we know it. I hope to be a little thinner by then :0)

If I were you, I'd keep track. It's very easy to "forget" about the little things that add up. And if you have a record, you can go back and look at what you were doing, and what you may need to work on!

I would give yourself a range for your calorie counting. So 1200 - 1400 a day kind of thing. This way when your at 1256 you don't freak out. That's what I do. :)
