I think that everyone here is right. People like to look at 'hot' people, period. Relationships have to do with a lot more than 'looking.' When I read that women tend to prefer some 'fat' on their men, from ILM, I've heard in my many years of existance, it is a sign that women feel they will be taken care of, because their man is not 'high maintenance' where they spend all the time to work on themselves - no body fat. Their attention will be to their hot woman. I have no idea, but she indicates her hot friends like that. And I'm sure vice versa.

I don't prefer fat on my guy, but as I previously mentioned, there are other qualities that trump superficial good looks.
I'm not surprised I'm with a guy who looks like he's high maintenance because those are the guys who always ask me out. I suppose my BF is high maintenance to some degree, but so am I in certain respects, so it evens out in the end.

That's because most men only develop mirror muscles and look like complete idiots. Symmetry has always been embraced as beautiful.
As for women, most are just dumb. They have no idea how to attain bodies that are truly attractive to males. Their measuring stick is skinnyness. Men's measuring stick is shape.

You're right. However, I have always preferred more muscular men. The more muscle, the better I like it. None of my girlfriends appreciate the hard work that goes into a well-muscled physique. I do. And I like it. It feels awesome

I think the media is to blame for a lot of this, but the fashion industry bears the most blame. I've never had legs that looked like cigarettes, and I have a bubble butt. Finding pants to fit is the impossible dream unless they have stretch to them. Jeans never fit me in the waist -- to get them over my legs and butt, the waist is usually 4"-6" too big. I often wonder who fits them.
Ditto for shirts. I haven't been able to wear a blouse for 15 years. My chest is too big (factor in the back here ... it ain't my boobies taking up the slack). For me to get a blouse that I can button up, the shoulders are hanging half way down my biceps and the arms are long enough for a gorilla. Everything I wear has stretch to it and is skin tight. Even at work. I can't find anything else to fit in "normal sizes".
Clothing makers have gotten used to people with huge waists and small shoulders. Women with hourglass figures, even if they're thin, have a more difficult time finding clothes now.

I bet that if you slapped people like this in the face, they would still be clueless. They have been bound by reputation and raised on appearances from birth, IMO.

Being "happy" is not enough. We as people need to come together and usher in a new era of progress, peace, love, etc etc. And for the record, I don't think those people are happy at all.
