I'm seeing changes but I know any dramatic difference will take time. I started in August 2018 and excited for next summer. 6 months of staying consistent with this is sure to get me in the best shape of my life soon. Thirteen pounds to go until I will be absolutely happy with my weight. I'm satisfied with the progress I made but I know if I stick with this over time it will become a lifestyle as opposed to highs and lows and gaining and losing the same 20lbs over again.. (think slow and stead wins the race)

I'm also aware that I will be gaining muscle as well hence the slower rate of weight loss. I'm losing fat but gaining muscle. I've been doing a weights class at the gym which I love and I've first started doing in 2013. It's my go-to for building strength since I don't really know what I'm doing in the weights section lol. Then there's cardio which I love. I don't get bored on the treadmill, just give me some water and good music.

Don't get sucked in to thinking slow weight loss is from building muscle, unless you are very overweight you will not be building muscle while in a calorie deficit but you will still be building strength. Building strength compared to building muscle size are two different things.

good point, I know body composition can change in a calorie deficit as well so im going for preserving lean muscle while losing fat - thats the goal

I ate like shit the last 2 days. not because i was deprived but because under a lot of stress.. the whole time i knew i was stress eating but its like i still did it anyway to cope... sigh .. now that the stress is over, i went right back to craving and eating healthy. namely green smoothies .. drinking one now and feel normal again. power of habit i guess. healthy eating is becoming my new normal

What does your weight class consist of ?
Low weight high repetition , full body exercises you can choose your weights. Squats, lunches, pushups, chest press, bicep curls, tricep work, crunches. Shoulder and back work. It's an hour long class and I love it. I don't do it everyday more like 1-3x per week

While such a class is great for general fitness it is not great for maintaining the muscle you have, high reps low weight is endurance and to a lesser extent building size if in a calorie surplus but not strength. Low reps high weight is used to maintain muscle in deficit and to build strength. Moderate reps and moderate weight are used for maximising muscle size.

Ah maybe I should tweak my weight routine to be higher weight less reps. Thanks!

Still going strong with the smoothie thing. Pineapple, banana, mango, orange juice ginger and spinach is my current favourite mix

One week into the new year and I've successfully left donuts and bagels in 2018.
I'm going to try to eliminate gluten completely over the next 21 days (and longer)

Donuts & bagels are best left behind. Here's to a happier, healthier future TC. You do get used to being gluten-free. I occasionally have some & regret it for days.

I've done the gluten-free lifestyle in the past with excellent results. The problem was that I didn't understand the concept of a lifestyle change - I didn't realize that what you do to lose the weight you need to keep up for life. So I got too "comfortable" and went back to eating gluten after seeing results. But now I know better and I'm confident I can stick to it for life. It's really not that hard!

I'm starting to notice a difference. In my face for sure. I'm a little bit smaller all over. And feeling lighter now that my digestion is good. Still 9-13 lbs to lose (will decide when I get closer to my goal... no point deciding on a number now).

I think I want to run a half marathon this September. I've never done one the most I did was 10K

I've come such a long way and cant get off course... no no no ... I told the guy at Tim Hortons that I haven't been ordering timbits and he immediately goes and gives me 2 free oness... ahh I couldn't say no so I took them and gave it to someone in the office.. also the gym by my house closed down so I had every excuse to not workout but I have actually been going more than ever. the new gym is further away but that wont stop me.
