The walking, hiking, jogging and running club

Walked for about 2 hours on Sunday in our fairly hilly neighborhood. Got to look at some really nice houses in a new development nearby... Too bad 1-2 million is out of our price range! Not sure how far we went, maybe I'll use Runkeeper on my phone from now on to track it!

Did some running outdoors tonight about a mile in total - found it really really difficult though - I can run 13mins on a treadmill without stopping but outdoor running I only managed about 30secs - 40 at most :0( boooo!

today I did about 6 miles... I DOGGED the first 2, felt like I had shin splints... but then thought about this documentary I saw last night on Military Channel about Marine Corps Recon, and thought... I would be a TOTAL pansy if I quit now :p... ended up okay, did about 70 minutes total, so about 5.2mph average.

that's EXACTLY how I was about 6 months ago, now I can do 10 miles on my absolute best day without stopping... I think what helped me was never pushing it past my comfort level.. if I got tired or was hurting physically, I walked (albeit briskly)... I don't want to say I never pushed it... I definitely pushed myself, I just didn't push myself to injury. It's a fine line :)

Hiked 4 miles today. It was cold and windy when we started out so we were going as fast as we could to stay warm. Gave us a good workout. Next hike Thursday!

Melancholy,
You really run a lot of miles. I think that's great. I can't run due to an ankle problem but I can walk pretty fast now!

Walked 2 miles outside in 30 min. and it's up and down hills. Fitness hike in the morning.

Nice! That's a quick time to walk!! 2 miles in with hills.

Yesterday, 3/9/2011, I ran 7 miles, and walked another 2.5 miles at night, for a total of 9.5 miles.

JUST returned from a 7-mile run/walk/jog ~ 90 minutes, burned 1032 calories according to the HRM.

Today was tough, I have a day off tomorrow so I didn't want to cut the run short, but after a couple of weeks of really pushing, I am sorrrre. Break day tomorrow, and by break, I mean snowboarding :)

My neighbor told me her kids saw me walking up hill the other day and couldn't believe I could walk uphill so fast.

Today I hiked 5 miles. It's getting warmer here so we're going to start earlier. It was 80 when we were done at 11:00am. It's going to be in the high 80's all week.

Day off today. Shopping and oil change. I'm going to try to get a hike in tomorrow as I will be too busy Sunday to take one.

Its snowing today(In march lol) so my plan for a nice run of walk was crossed off the list but i will go for a 3 mile run on the treadmill later this evening!

Sunshine here in AZ. It's 85!

Walked 2 miles outside. I wasn't able to go for a hike. I have so many thing I have to get done. At least I'm on my feet a lot.

Extremely happy today, for all of winter and up until now when i got home from school i only had like 20 mins of daylight so i couldnt go for my walk on the road but this week, its bright until nearly 7 and im loving it, i am now back to the way i was last summer, walking in the evening and then later on in the evenings treadmill for my run

Last 2 days ive done

Medium paced 2 mile walk on road
2.64 miles running on treadmill! :)

I only walked 1 mile on the treadmill. I have just been so busy this weekend. I did go outside for a break and it was a beautiful day.
We don't change time here in AZ.

I didn't get a chance to walk yesterday. I was soooo busy.

Today I hiked 6 miles. A lot of up hill like going up stairs!

7 mile hike today. It was real nice outside. Now I need to get my butt outside and do some yard work. At least 1-2 hrs worth.

Went on a run this morning. I went ~2.5 miles at 11min/mile pace. I could not maintain a running pace the entire route yet, but the fact I got up and starting going is encouraging.

On a not unrelated note, is anyone else using runkeeper.com? I have a Bluetooh heart rate monitor that works with my phone.

Hey, a runner! Congrats, and don't worry too much about pace/ running continuously right now.

I use a Garmin GPS w/ a timex HRM that tracks my HR, and the Garmin obviously tracks my distance/ pace. It then syncs with the computer after, and works freakin' awesome (for me at least).

TODAY: I did 5 miles total, 4.5 miles running. Running pace ~10min/mile
