The times are changing: S3tsuna's diary

Alright, So I'm new here and the first thing I thought I'd do is start up one of this diary things. So here I am... -waves-. lets see, I guess I should tell you a bit about myself. I'm 17 and have been fighting with my weight ever since I was around 10 years old. Its been a strange battle, sometimes I feel I'm winning other times I'm not, though now I'm close to becoming a legal adult ( my birthday is in august), I've decided it's time for a change.

Right now I'm weighing in at 217lbs at the height of 5'6. Which is just... ugh. So i'm hoping to work on that throughout the summer before I go back to school in the fall. Since I'm very optimistic about all this and have already mapped out my goals, I feel this may very well work and I'm all for giving this one more shot.

I've already started a few weeks ago on the whole weightloss process so I've already gone down a few pounds which is good for a half-assed start. Luckily it is the summer now and I have plenty of time to spend on this. For example what I've done is sort of substitute a few of my favourite unhealthy treats, Dr.pepper for V8, fries for wraps... and so on. Now I can start doing some exercise as well.

Starting weight: 220 lbs. @ 6/14/06
Current weight: 217 lbs @ 6/27/06
Goal weight: 150lbs

For the goal weight thing, I plan on doing this in little chunks. I'll go and get one of those ticker things I see in most of your sigs and update it that way. Anyway... I hope this is a good enough start.

it's a great start - welcome .... and good for you for dropping 3 already- the safe and sane way... :) and a reasonable goal weight as well...

Nice to see you here, and look forward to reading more from you...

Morning Log: (06/28/06)

So this morning I made a good choice instead of a... well not exactly a bad one, just a not so helpful one. ;)
So my alarm went off at 6am and I turned it off and reset it for 7:45am. Which is a terrible habit of mine that I usually do during school, anyway so I laid there for about a minute then just said " Nope, not today" and got up. What a terrible start to my day if I had of opted for more sleep rather then get up and get to work.

Ok so its 5 minutes short of 8am and I'm all pumped! I just got home about 15 minutes ago from an hour bike ride and did some stretches before and some more when I got home along with 25 crunches and 25 push-ups. Which I am pleased about. Also before I went out, I had an apple and now I'm eating a low-fat yogurt and a peach. ^^

So far so good.

Afternoon & Evening log: (06/28/06)

Alright so after the morning I ended up doing some errands with my dad and went strawberry picking for him. I didn't get a lot because I didn't want to spend all day in the berry patch, I didn't taste-test either but that was mostly because I was going pretty fast.

So after the errands I had myself a V8 and when I got home, and after I cleaned up the berries, I had a bowl mr.noodles.

I didn't really have a very active afternoon because it started to thunderstorm and hasn't even let up yet. For Supper I had a salad and 1 hamburger patty.

And now I'm snacking on cherries. <3

Today was a pretty good day.

Hello and Welcome!!!!

What a great start to your new journey. Your making healthy choices for yourself and you seem to be very realistic with your goals. Viewing them in small portions like you mentioned is so helpful I think. I've done the same thing and it makes it not feel like such an overwhelming burden.

So good luck to you and we are all here for you!!!

Thank you very much^^

I'm all excited for tomorrow now, for another bike trip. though hopefully my seat wont be all wonky on me now that my dad fixed it.

Morning and early afternoon log: (06/29/06)

So this morning I had a strawberry and banana smoothie. It was so good.^^ Though since its raining out here I figured I'd opt for going for a run later on the tread mill rather than go biking. even though I was looking forward to it.

So soon I'll be having lunch, which will probably be a salad. yum! Anyway I'll fill you in on the rest after.

Set~

Evening log: (06/29/06)

Ok so right after I posted this, this afternoon a friend called and disaster struck. Turns out she thought she was up for graduation tonight, but she got a call this morning from her english teacher telling her that she was unsuccessful in her exam. So I had to go comfort her.

So this is what lunch was:
A chedder cheese tea biscuit, heated and buttered.
a medium Iced cappuccino.

not too good, but not overly too bad either considering I was lacking in cals today. Also I just got home from walking around with her and two other friends, and I've just had a salad and two slices of bread.

Plus tons of water today.

-----------------------

Though I'm already contemplating a snack for later and although I haven't gone for that run or biked as of yet... I was thinking of some popcorn but I know we have celery in the fridge and I might opt for that instead.

Ah this is so hard. :p

Looks like your getting in lots of exercise. That's really good! Maybe have a little pop corn than go for a bike ride? Your doing great!

See how you are conscious of what you are consuming? You've conquered the first obstacle in weight loss. We are so proud of you.

Thank you.

Well yesterday was a complete write off. :p
Chinese food... party... oh dear.

Anyway, no point in getting upset, its already tomorrow so lets move on.

----------------------------

Well today I'm currently eating a banana (yum) but it is also Canada day and I'm going down to the park with some friends and stuff so I'll have to watch myself there.^^

Morning log: (07/02/06)

I didn't eat much yesterday because my throat was killing me, still is today but not too bad really. Though I walked around a lot down at the park so I suppose it wasn't a bad day.

Today I'm just going to do some work I owe to the school in september and tomorrow morning I am going to the Y and getting a membership. :) So i can have a bit more structure to my exercise instead of just biking and running.

Mmmm apple. <3

Sometimes we just have to write days off, dear. I had the same problem yesterday. But like you said it's already tomorrow, let's move on. You've got a great positive attitude so you just hold on to that and keep on doing what you're doing. :)

The Y

I LOVE my Y! :) I hope you have a lot of fun working out there. Our Y just got all new equipment, and I still have not gone through the orientation to use it, but that place is going to be my second home once the twins start preschool next month. 2 1/2 hours a day all to myself!!! Anyway, good for you getting going with a membership!

Wooo today is a day for good choices!

So I was going to go to the gym tomorrow. Bah... why not go today? So I did, though when I go tomorrow I will get the membership. :)

So I was there for over an hour and I worked on the cross-trainer, the row machine thing, did 60 crunches with 50lbs weights ( that machine thing as well), and worked biceps, triceps et cetera.

it was so much fun and I can't wait to go back tomorrow, though I might bring my friend there because she wants to build some muscles, cus she's scrawny. :p

Then after I was done I biked downtown to see if I could get my bank info for the membership but alas they are closed today and since I was hungry I went to Pita pit and had an assorted pita with lots of veggies no mayo and a V8 for a drink.

Such a good day! :D

Evening munchies log: (07/02/06)

Ahhh the munchies. So what am I doing about it?

Unsalted pretzels and a can of V8 juice.
Weeeeeeeee.

Breakfast:

3 boiled eggs
1 hashbrown
6 pieces of bacon

1/2 glass of milk.

Its raining today, so i'm not going to trudge up to the gym. Tomorrow I will though.

Well, looks like you've had a couple days of really good food choices. Good for you.

And sounds like you did have a lot of fun at the gym. That will help you in looking forward to it instead of viewing it as a chore.

You are rolling now, honey!!!! You just keep it ut.
