yea iv heard that many a time. lol my mom wont let me get fructose/dextrose haha she thinks its the devil
and fructose has been working well for as long as iv been training so cheers :]

its amazing how the body will adapt under unfavorable circumstances; some football players eat jiffy peanut butter PWO (fats/hardly any carbs/not enough protein) and they are very strong and very..big

but i understand dextr/malto is optimal; thanks for the advice :D
 
Use 30-40 grams of whey, and around 60 grams of carbs (30 malto, 30 dextrose).Which means 1prot:2(1dex:1malto).
Maltodextrin and dextrose are like 1$ for 1lb so it won't cost you anything.
I'm not convinced that the fruit/fructose will be very effective pwo.
Just my 2 cents.

A banana is perfect for PWO carbs.
 
some people are under the impression that fructose/fruits dont digest as fast as malto/dextrose. even if it doesnt digest as fast, it still gets the job done in the needed amount of time and i dont believe there will be much/any noticable difference in results.

i think its true that malto/dextrose digests faster than fructose(they are different types of sugar) but i dont think it will make any difference. its still fast digestable carbs when your body needs it :]]

I know that fructose is not very effective in replenishing muscle glycogen stores, there have been studies to prove that. But if I remember correctly bananas contain some glucose as well. So they might be alright after all.
If banana PWO works for Proteinboy, than he should keep doing it. It comes down to that.

So you like living on the edge? What will you do when your mom catches you doing steroids (malto/dextrose = steroids). My Mom is also very ignorant about these things.. she things I'm doing something illegal when I drink whey protein.
She even brought once some kind of self-proclaimed "expert" a 60 + year old woman, and she told me a story about some guy at might age who was taking "substances" and was lifting weight. So at one point he was doing some heavy running and he died, his heart stopped out of the blue, and she was worried that something like that might happen to me. I just cracked up when I heard that. That was supposed to scare me from taking whey protein. :yelrotflmao:
 
im pretty sure if i take the time and explain to her what it is, then she will let me get it lol if i could convince her whey isnt satan in disguise i can do the same with this.

and if not, i will just be happy with my nanners :]]
 
PB, try talking to your mom about taking creatine! lol, creatine are steroid!

And whenever you work out and post in this log, you better do a good job and train hard because I'm watching you :D
 
LOL my mom lets me take creatine IDK why! when i used to take it, she had no problem but something accosiated with sugar scares her >.> unless its "natural fruit"

and i have 900g just sitting there now lol

and of course i will train hard! Thankyou for the encouragement!

I used to take it but stopped, because i didnt have the cash and didnt really feel many benefits. So ATM im not taking creatine.

Im thinking about going back to it tho.......

when I started taking the mono, it could have just been me, but my lifts went up on average like 10-20 pounds in a few weeks.

could be placebo tho u never know

-full chinups 10,9,8
-1x5 Dumbell Snatch(5 per arm) @ 44lbs, 2x3 @ 54lbs
-1x6 Barbell Lunges(6 per leg) @ 116lbs, 1x7 @ 121lbs
-1x18 Weighted Vest Pushup Bar Pushups @ 30lbs

PWO: bananna, 1/2 yogurt, 6 strawberries, 2 cups cranberry juice, 1.5 scoops whey

COMMENTS:
21 rep(20 was 2 ez) squats was fun today but still not devestatingly difficult. i will do 210lbs next time! :D
Reps 1-5 were easy. i thought "theres weight on my back?"
Reps 6-8 were harder. "uh oh...heh its all good"
Reps 9-12 were bad. "haha this hurts!"
Repts 13-16 were easier. "im almost done! BREATHE!!!"
Reps 17-20 were hardest but mentally easiest because i knew i was going to make it with gas to spare. "finish him!"
Rep 21 " just incase i miscounted"

i had to workout at my house today becAUSE there was no coach in the weight room today >.> it was a great workout!
the DB snatches were really fun. i supersetted jerks, chinups, and snatches with 1 min rest in between. its one of the most fun exercises iv ever done!
praise be to God! I am exstatic about being back in weightlifting!
IT IS SUCH A GIFT AND I WILL NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED AGAIN! :D

yea theyr the bomb but it was hard for me to try to catch it in just one arm lol and my forearms were gorged with blood and weakened from chinups so i felt really weak doing them haha i want to be able to 1 arm snatch with a barbell haha maybe in a while i want to practice for a while!

and as for the 100kg 20 rep squats, that sounds great! il get far past that by the end of this routine! i guess the next milestone is 200kg 1rm?!:rolleyes:

im doing 5x5 after this hopefully. intermediate linear version. either that or just do what coach tells me. i really only emphasize about getting squat numbers high and power clean numbers up too.

AND dude i wasnt about to let you down on my 20 reps today. same with next week
 
good. I hate my squat at the moment, but for the first time since my injury I have now started a program that takes squatting seriously. 3 times a week, 2 front and 1 back, all heavy 1-3 rep range. It will get my numbers up. Right now my goal is a 308 back squat
 
haha yea dude im enjoying back squats now but afterwards, i am going back to bloody o'l front squats lol...
and just so the wrong impression isnt made: when i do the 20 rep squats, i take 2-5 deep breaths in between squats depending on what rep i am on. so it isnt like non stop squats. its breathing squats.

update: i am eating a lot now...i dont know how much im going to gain all i know is im gaining! Super Squats(the book) claims that 30lbs of muscle can be gained in 6 weeks and theres a lot of testimonies on the internet(iv already had a long thread about whether or not its possible lol) so i guess thats a good excuse to eat like crazy haha
