Well, I weighed in this morning at 227, so down 2 lbs this past week. I was a bit surprised, I thought I would at least hit 3-4 since I ate healthy all week and made it to the gym 6 out of 7 days. My leg was sore again so I didn't push it too hard. I had stopped icing the past few days because I thought it was all better. That was a mistake! Hopefully it feels better again tomorrow!

Hey, glad to see you're really sticking with it! Your mileage is going great too, you're planning on doing a 25k right? When is that going to happen?

What part of your leg is sore?

Great work!! Keep it up

Conkel - My shin is doing better, it was kind of on the side. But I have been a good job of stetching and icing my leg. My 25k race is on May 8 so it is quickly approaching. I'm also playing in a basketball tournament on April 4, so that is my first goal date!

WELL, I have had a really tough weekend. At the end of the day I found out that I was getting laid of from my job. I was (geez, it sucks having to use past tense) working for Bank of America as a commercial lender in our commercial real estate department. Well, on Thursday we found out that uppder management had decided to eliminate our entre real estate department in Grand Rapids, MI (4 of us total) and have the Detroit office handle our portfolio. I'm just devistated and it has been a really tough weekend. My severence package is pretty good, but it is such a bad economy right now that I know it is going to be tough to find another job in the finance field.

SO, I admit that I didn't follow my diet/exercise on Friday or Saturday, but today I am back on track and determined to continue to lose weight and become healthy again. I'm trying my best to stay positive, but it's just hard! OK, enough ranting and rambling! I'll post my food/exercise for today later.

Sorry to hear about your job loss :( We hope that you are able to find a new one in a timely fashion though!

Great job lately sticking to your diet. Your numbers look great and you seem to be as determined as ever :biggrinjester:

Keep your head high though, it will all work out in the end!!

Sorry to hear about your job, I was laid off recently as well.. not much we can do about it though, so just try to stay positive. If you're feeling bad about it work it out on the treadmill! Use it to propel yourself forward and keep with everything.

Hope your shin feels better, good luck, and keep up the good work :)

Crazy couple of months. After our commercial real estate department was closed in Grand Rapids, I was offered a job back at the bank where I had previously worked. So, I've been backing working at the bank since the middle of February. It has been a very busy couple of months settling into a new job, but I really need to start putting the same amount of time and energy into myself as I have been with work.

I weighed in this morning at 236 so I've gained most of the weight back I lost at the beginning of the year. My goal right now is to get back to the gym, start training for some races and watch what I eat.

Today I made it to the gym and ran/walked 4.0 miles for a total of 45 minutes. I have signed up for a race on June 13 so that is my first goal. Depending on how the next month goes, the race on June 13 will either be a 5k or 10k.

Food:
Slimfast
Turkey sandwich on wheat
100 cal yogurt
Small bag of carrots
2 slices of watermelon
Banana
1.5 grilled chicken breasts
Bowl of cereal, skim milk

EXERCISE:
45 minutes on treadmill, 4.0 miles (run/walk)

Hey Logan, what great timing! I am back as well. It is time for me to stop making excuses and focus on ME and my health. I can't use the stress of my job and the long hours as an excuse ANYMORE! I weighed myself last Tuesday for the first time since probably April or May...I weighed in at 246.5 lbs so I put back on the 15-20 lbs I had lost at the beginning of the year.

Today I weighed in at 240.0, so I lost 6.5 lbs during the first week. I know some of that was water weight, but hey, I'm happy to have posted a solid loss.

I am just feeling really focussed and confident. I know that I can't keep pushing aside my weight...today is the time to get started on changing all of my eating habits. I miss playing in basketball leagues and I want to get back into that. SO, it is time to get it done!

Another good day...

FOOD:
Slimfast
Turkey sandwich on wheat
2 yogurts (total of 200 cal)
Grapes
Carrots
Chicken burrito (tortilla, chicken breast & salsa)

Today was my day off from the gym so I know my body will be feeling really fresh tomorrow when I head to the gym.

Been a crazy 6-7 months. I accepted a promotion with the bank I work at back in October but it meant I had to move from Grand Rapids to the Detroit area. I love my new job and everything career wise is going well.

I went to Houston to visit my brother in March and watch the 1st weekend of March Madness. It involved a lot of unhealthy eating and when I got back I felt awful. I weighed myself.....255 lbs....the HIGHEST I have ever been. To think I weighed 170 in January 2008 and I put on over 80 lbs in 2 years......awful. I used to be so active.......constantly playing basketball and running mile after mile. I miss that. And I decided I couldn't make any more excuses. No matter how busy or stressed I get at work I HAVE to make time for the gym and change my eating habits. I haven't had fast food since. I have almost lost 20 lbs....Tuesdays are my weigh in days and I weighed in at 236 this week.

I feel great.....I have SO MUCH more energy and my body has become used to my healthy eating and the cravings for "bad" food are going away. I am into a solid routine of going to the gym after work. I have even started to play basketball again.........granted, I still have a lot more weight to lose to get back to the point of being able to regain my old playing form, but I am on my way to reaching that goal.

I know it is important for me to keep a journal so I am going to start that back up.

FOOD:
Slimfast
Chicken burrito (tortilla, rice, chicken & salsa)
1 cup whole grain pasta w/ marinara sauce
Bowl of cinnamon life cereal w/ skim milk
Slimfast bar (100 cal)

EXERCISE:
65 minutes on treadmill......run / walk........5.20 miles
3 on 3 half court basketball

Another good day so far.......oh how glad I am the weekend is here!!! It was a long week and I'm excited to catch up on my sleep! Already went to the gym....my body was a bit sore from the 5 miles I ran yesterday so I only did 30 minutes on the treadmill (run / walk), which resulted in 2.25 miles. I then just shot around on the basketball court for about half an hour.

Got in a good run today...3.15 miles.....getting ready for my 5k race this Saturday so I am excited for that. My shin started to hurt a bit today, so I've been icing it and may not run tomorrow......depends on how it feels.

I plan on making homemade pizza for dinner.......wheat crust, fat free cheese, garlic, tomatoes, onions and spinach. Looking forward to that!

I weighed in this morning at 235.0 lbs......so the weight is steadily coming off. Right now I'm on pace to lose about 4 lbs this week (weigh in is Tuesday).

-Adam

Adam, good to see you back on here! Looks like you are well on your way to being recommitted to losing weight. Don't lose too fast or you'll be passing me up soon! :)

I haven't been posting on here, but am doing well also, have ran two 4 mile races (best of 39mins 11secs) and am signed up for 3 more 5k's in the coming months. It has been a good way to keep me motivated!

Take care and look forward to your postings and success!
