I'm ready!

So do we need to figure out how we are going to divide the exercise for this week? I'm not sure how this is supposed to work - I mean I have an idea, but sometimes what I'm thinking isn't what is right. ;)

When I exercise I usually get in 30 to 40 min., but I can always up it - I think I need to up it somedays anyway.

I can definitely get in the 4 hours and 17 minutes. I could probably get in a whole 5 hours if someone needs me to pick up minutes, however more than that won't be possible with being out of town this weekend. Although since I do count my commute to work (a mile to and from the train to my office) that will give me extra minutes on top of my kickboxing classes. And depending on how much walking we do in NYC I may count that. If we do five hours of walking, I'm going to count an hour of that because I certainly don't do five hours of walking on a normal Saturday... maybe that's why I'm chubby:)

shall we all aim for 5hours of excercise this week and see where we end up lol!

i know it will be too much but if anything does happen that one of us couldn't do all of it atleast the other 2 will have doen extra minutes.

x

Oh and I'll be trying the dance as I think eating boiled cabbage is quite repulsive... :)

Oh me too! but if I can't do the dance I will try to find a recipe or two. 5 cups of boiled cabbage just doesn't sound good.

So for the challenge, isn't it that we get the 4hrs and 17 min. done as a combined effort? Or is that each of us individually have to get in 4 hrs and 17 min.?

Good plan.

Do you thinking scrubbing floors, tubs, etc. would count? :biggrinjester:

Hey ladies! I thought this might help with your exercise questions. If you are ever curious about anything, go to the main thread and read the rules. Most of your questions should be answered there. :)

1. Each week we’ll “travel” to a new destination. The travel time will be the amount of exercise each team must complete in order to get maximum pts. If a team “reaches” their destination, they’ll get 10pts. If they reach 80% of their destination they’ll get 8pts. So if the travel time is 15hrs and the team exercises 15hrs, they’ll get 10pts plus an additional 5pts bonus. If they only exercise 12hrs they’ll get 8pts. Percentages will be rounded down to the nearest tenth.
2. No team member may do more than 50% of the weekly exercise, and each team member must do at least 10% of the weekly exercise.

I did try the dance, but I don't think it was successful. Of course I did "try" it for a min.

As far as boiled cabbage, it can be used in recipes. You just boil it for like 5 min to soften it up. I'm planning on a chinese food day on Sat. It will have boiled cabbage in the spring rolls, hot and sour soup, and the stir fry! :D

Well it seems I am the "old" lady here. ;) No wonder you two are so keen on the dance. I think if I were younger, I could swing it!

30mins done so far!!
Woot! Angel! I'm heading downstairs just as soon as I'm done here.

Just got done with the self-challenge strength workout - 25 min. for that, then I added squats, bicep curls, crunches, etc. for 10 more min. So my total for today is 35 min. Not bad considering I didn't feel at all like exercising!

another 100mins done today. i need to do 50mins to reach the 5hour target! woohoo. hope you both are doing good as well.

Angel, you are way ahead of me! I need to get my booty going. I didn't do anything yesterday. :(

However, I did get my cabbage cooked and eaten today. And it was pretty darn good. I made egg rolls with it, stir fry, and a hot and sour cabbage soup. I used 2 heads of cabbage for all 3 things. Boiled the cabbage for the egg rolls and stir fry - the soup it boiled itself. :D So I'm good to go for the detour. I did make enough for the whole family - and there is plenty of soup leftover, so even if I didn't get the whole 5 cups in today's lunch, it will be gotten in with eating leftovers. That was a lot of cabbage I used. And everyone's digestive system seems to be working well today. :biggrinjester:

They loved it all too! I made the soup and stir fry with turkey sausage instead of the ground beef and pork it called for. It was delish!
