Good morning ladies! It's 8am here in Southern CA. Yawn. hehe

Yesterday I kicked butt around the house. I was too sore from lifting weights to go to the gym, so I cleaned the house, did laundry. The hard core laundry where you wash the pillows, sheets, bathmatts, and some of my old sweaters that were in storage, plus all my regular laundry. Geez. then I vacuumed and washed dishes among other things. Dusting, went through some clothes to give to charity. I didn't stop moving all day. I must have burned so many calories.

Good news! I am down 1 pound! I'm so happy. I didn't think that scale was going to move. Because it went up a few over the weekend, then back down. Water weight! I hate it, it really makes it hard to tell when you are losing.

I read somewhere that when you lose fat, your body will store more water to balance things out, then enventually it will drop that water. Makes it hard sometimes to know what is going on.

I still have a fridge full of fruit. I need to get crackin on that. I've been taking some green tea fat metabolizers and they have helped keep my appetite in check. whew.

Anyhow, I'm losing! So that's good. How's everyone else doing? Looks like you've been doing great with the exercise! I have to hit the gym today. It's going to be a long day.

Wow MJ you are doing great! :) And way to go on that house cleaning, want to come to my house next?? :D

I have to admit a few days ago I did get on the scale in the morning and was down to 158lbs, thus I changed my ticker. But being that TOM (and for me its like a freakin 10 day process!!!) I have no clue what my weight is right now. I am going to weigh in for my one week chk on Thursday! But I will def. be "full swing" for the TOM, so I have NO clue what the scale is going to say. I doubt it will be below 158. Thankfully I'll be through this nasty time by our final weigh in Feb 2nd. Yay!! :)

Also.. being my splurge day is Thursday, wish me luck that I don't go too crazy!!

LOL, I have no energy left to clean for a while. haha I hear you about TOM jacking up the scale. I gain so much water weight that I feel like a walking water balloon.

Mmm, splurge day on Thursday? Good luck not eating too badly. I don't hold back on splurge days. haha I'm no help with that one. lol Perhaps you can take an appetite suppressor that way you can eat what you want without being too hungry. That works for me sometimes.

Hehe Thanks MJ. Well thursdays my birthday. And I just, can't resist having a nice dinner out, eating what I want. which probably will NOT be low-fat. but I was also thinking I deserve a scone for breakfast..but that's a 500 calorie splurge..eek! :) And if my co-workers actually remembered my b-day, they'll wind up bringing a cake in! So.. maybe I can just skip lunch? :D

yesterdays rugby training was a shambles (an attempt to be polite here lol) but heading to the gym this morning.

Another tip I use, is one from my mom, who would remind me, everytime I felt a wee bit of hunger I could think fo it as 1/10th of a pound gone. :D lol.. Just a different perspective!

gum! that's what i need for my car trips (doing another 3 hour trip tomorrow morning), so hard to control myself then!

i remember once hearing that when your tummy grumbled from hunger it was shrinking - so that coupled with the hunger feeling must mean heaps of weight melting :D

hey, congrats on the loss! obviously you are doing things right. you almost inspired me to do heavy duty cleaning today, but i think it might not happen now :D

interesting about the water vs fat thing. i've never honestly understood the whole water retention thing, so thanks for explaining. i drink 3 or 4 ltrs a day at the moment, so i hope that helps me with my loss..

slowly slowly i'm starting to understand this stuff. i was perplexed when i bought my digital scale recently - it would be different by up to a kilo if i weighed myself a few times a day, very confusing! tom certainly brings on the sweet tooth for me :/ btw 158 is wonderful - i wish i was there!

its thursday here tomorrow! happy early birthday :D

hope the gym was better today than yesterday, tru - happy almost australia day! russell crowe (along with various other performers) are playing at old parlie house tonight.. i thought about going as my son seems to want to, but it looks like rain. finally its cool and rainy on the one night it would be fun to go outside!
 
the gym went well today, felt a bit slugish but won a gift pack from the gym which was nice :)

urg i just snacked on 2 pieces of chocolate (10 grams each) not to bad but i wasn't hungry.

sounds like it would be good fun tonight, the 2 things i miss about canberra is the summer nats and skyfire. but if your ever looking for a fun sport in canberra i would recommend the broomball at philip ice rink as a great way to loose weight and you don't have to skate :)

yeah i think we'll stay home tonight though, given the dodgy weather. shame, but i have lots to do at home so its fine.

i've been to the ice-rink years ago to skate. i keep meaning to take my kids to have a go, i like to skate! they've never tried it so it might be fun. my brother-in-law is very into the summer nats, he will be showing a car there next year :)

my day has been okay, had one stick of a kit kat, but other than that quite good. all low GI. i didn't get to the gym, but i did my pilates dvd again - three times so far this week, that's a first. really its because i want to report back here with something positive - these challenges really help :)
 
aghhh! Sorry girls, I am so slacking in my posts here!! ;) First and foremost, I want to bring up the fact that Rialyynn has not seemed to post at all. I think we should perhaps drop her from the group. What do you guys think? I just am not sure this person is even posting anywhere!

The gym has been GREAT! And I did sneak on the scale, I'm not changing my ticker jsut yet until my official 1 week weigh-in tomorrow morning. I am so excited to have seen it budge though!! :)

You guys are doing so great.. I'm so happy to hear how you are all trucking along! :D Keep it up! and I promise to post in here more frequently!
 
Have a great Australia Day today everybody, I don't have much in the way way of plans today except to go fishing :D

The gift pack has a towel embroidered with the RPM logo a water bottle, some bath crystals and a few other bits and pieces.

I think you are right about Rialyynn, i havn't seen any post from her for over a week anywhere.

happy australia day :) i just dropped off my son with his dad and managed the three hour drive with no snacks - just water! i'm chuffed :D

i love free stuff (der). last week i won a $50 gift voucher for a chinese restaurant - shame it had to be food, but it was very yummy :)

i'm not sure i've seen any of rialyynn's posts? i guess if she isn't here by the half way point we might have to ask her to try again next time. i got booted off the last one for not participating - and fair enough too. i had no internet - maybe she doesn't either?

now, to make sure i don't eat too much at today's barbie!

Ok, chk out my ticker you guys!!!! I was almost afraid to change it. I went down to 156lbs. I am SO shocked. Maybe its all the water I've been trying to drink lately, (trying to maintain at LEAST 60oz a day. hopefully more!) but I don't care WHAT it is, its coming off!! I really feel like I am contributing to this challenge. I am so geeked!! :) So if I recall correctly it means for this first week I am down 3.5lbs. Hope the scale wasn't just teasin me!!

so yesterday...i went reasonably well. after the successful drive i went to my friends place for a barbie. the food was wonderful - i had about three very thin slices of salami, a few olives and a few bits of feta cheese (antipasto platter) and then a small piece of barbied chicken, one rissole (oi it was australia day :D), rice salad and some greek salad. kept it to a good portion and didn't eat the desserts :D

in the evening i went to another dinner/barbie. the food was out of this world! for first course ben made a mix of avocado, tomato (roasted first), cucumber, tuna (like sashimi) on beautiful rye bread. like a very chunky salsa. then later for the main he cooked prawns on the barbie and served them in an amazing dressing plus rice and some divine salmon baked with ginger.

all of this food is low GI - this is why i love my diet!

two downfalls - i did drink a fair bit of wine over the two events, plus i didn't have time to get to the gym or do my dvd (only had about an hour at home altogether)

still, not too bad :)

how is everyone else doing? well, i know someone is celebrating a lovely day :)

and tru?
 
had a very quiet lazy day yesterday, didn't catch a thing, played video games in the afternoon. I didn't eat enough and what i did eat was mostly junk. Did spend some time climbing up and down ladders with hubby fixing the guttering on the house.
