Had a really good day, putting everything behind me and reminding me of my goals. BALANCE. This is something I really struggle with, but Im feeling much healthier in my body. Went to the gym this morning and had a much better session today, feeling more comfortable sprinting on the running machines. Had to politely decline alot of tempting food today, but want to be as healthy as possible for the next few days to continue my progress.

I'm now going to number days with a count down to holiday :)

37 days to go:
Breakfast: fat free yoghurt, 1/2 banana, piece of Rye bread, poached egg.

Snacks: squash (no added sugar), large banana

Total Calories: 1348,

Calories burned: 2774

Excercise: alot of walking, 15 hiit on the treadmill, ab floor work, weighted squats...

Was really tired throughout the day-most likely because of all the walking I'm doing. Had to sandwich in essay writing in between babysitting, but both went reasonably well.

Don't like how much beige food I've been eating atm, but just trying to live off of the food in the cupboards and not spend money :s

My boyfriend was trying to tempt me with chocolate caramel cheesecake yesterday, but I managed to say no- I enjoyed the chocolate sandwich biscuits I had at lunch time but didn't want to over indulge

Dinner:rice, veg, and tuna steak

Was planning to drink quite alot on Saturday (for St Paddy's Day!) was wondering if anyone has any ideas on tasty low cal food I can keep in the house for when I'm hungover? I would typically eat chocolate digestives and order a takeaway, but want to save money and calories :D

Make sure you eat plenty of protein before you drink on Saturday. I can't think of any low-cal hangover foods I'm sorry. Lasagne used to be the one for us. You could add a big salad to make it healthier. Buy some lean bacon and have bacon & eggs for breakfast on good toast. Maybe bake some veggies on Saturday to eat with eggs on Sunday. Drink lots of water before you go to bed. Hangovers need to be fed, but feeding yourself well beforehand will also help. If all else fails, remember this is a lifetime thing & just get back on the track on Monday. Cheers!

Will definitely be eating a proper meal before drinking, as my tolerance for alcohol is likely to be low (dieting, exercise and have been steering clear of alcohol) .

Lasagne might be a good idea, or another filling homemade meal to have in the fridge. Thanks for the advice! :)

Another day of counting calories... Getting rather bored of it all. It was nice seeing the initial progress of getting rid of the binge bloat, but waiting to see more results is slow. Going to keep sticking with it, as I'm definitely in a better mental headspace-feeling much more in control after the 13 days of being on this diet/WLF :)

Am home again to visit my mum, who has been signed off work because of her bad back-shes on alot of painkillers, muscle relaxants etc but she's much more up beat about it all and is much more mobile-it's given me peace of mind knowing that she's been coping well by herself. We went for YoSushi! for dinner and I luuuuuuved tasting all the dishes... Plus 25% student discount :p

34 days til holiday:
Breakfast: muesli, strawberrys, raspberrys.

Lunch: Soya deli style slices in a mini baguette with salad and tomatoes, an orange, two pieces of 70% dark chocolate.

Dinner: pumpkin katsu curry, seaweed salad, nigiri rolls, harusame aubergine, vegetable gyōzas (all shared-so half portioned)

Total calories:1301
Steps:6550
Projected calories burnt:1681

If counting your calories is what is stopping you bingeing it's probably worth it, but if you don't think that is the reason, it's entirely up to you, whether you do or don't. It helps to start off counting calories, just because we kid ourselves sometimes about how much we eat & it does help you feel in control.
I'm glad your Mum is coping well & your dinner sounds delicious.
Only 34 days to go? Nice :D

I think budgeting calories has really helped me integrate small portions of the 'naughty food' I like, without bingeing. Rather than only eating healthy foods and then bingeing.
The food was delicious! I love eating tasty food that I could never make in the kitchen :p

I think that's why I'm frustrated with the small body changes-34 days is so soon! I'm very excited though :)

Ahh, but you don't have to see any major changes I thought. Try to look at yourself & be kinder & less critical. Try to see yourself as others see you. Even if you do not lose one little ounce between now & then I'm sure that you will look great & have a ball :)

Thanks, Cate. I think the 'beach ready body' thing isnt realistic or attainable, but it's hard get out of my head. You're right, in the grand scheme of things, I'm not looking for major changes- the major changes most likely need to happen with my views about my body... It's hard, but I'm working on it.

The problem with "official" beach bodies is the goal posts keep moving. Reach your first goal, notice another thing that isn't perfect. Then another. That's just how our culture has programmed us. Ask anyone over 40 how they felt about their 20-year-old bodies back then and how the feel looking atvpictures from the same era. The difference is massive and it's all perspective.

I'm alive! Very hungover, but alive. Wish I remembered more of going out yesterday, I did have fun playing drinking games with friends/ new people.
I ended up not actually eating very much before we went out, because I have a partially toxic living situation at the place I stay in my student town-so couldn't get access to the kitchen to make dinner, but I drank about a litre of water before we went out, so it was all good.

Also, I weighed myself yesterday morning and have lost another two pounds! I doubt it will stay off after drinking alot of calories/the hangover food which I will probably eat too much of, but it's nice that I'm heading in the right direction... I don't think I'll want to lose to much more weight so I might start upping calories abit and try and get more toned.

33 days until holiday:
Breakfast: muesli, strawberrys and hemp milk.
Lunch: mozzarella soya burger, slice of wholemeal bread, tomatoes, rocket.
Dinner: slice of wholemeal bread, 1.5 tablespoon of peanut butter and chopped up banana, folded into a sandwich.

Drank a bottle of white wine and maybe more, but I don't think there's any point counting the calories I drank-I'm aware that it was ALOT.

Calories eaten: 1193
Fitbit steps: 22580... And more after midnight..
Projected calories burnt: 2764

I still feel so rough :ambivalence: I ate loads of food yesterday, but I'm not going to feel guilty about it, it was my one day of being hungover and feeding whatever cravings I had...
Food: slice of bread, banana, big ol' bowl of pasta, 1/3 of a jar of peanut butter, 6 dark chocolate rice cakes and a few hash brown fingers...I'm not counting calories for yesterday as I don't want to torture myself... :D

Was totally ready to get back on the health train today, and go to the gym but I feel so rough. Been shaking, nauseous and anxious because I haven't done any work the last two days... But have done some today.

Today I've eaten:
Breakfast: Two pieces of toast, one with a poached egg, one with butter and Marmite. Calories-445
Lunch: small bowl of porridge with cinnamon and semi skimmed milk. Calories:307

Will most likely get a healthy-ish ready meal from Tesco's for dinner with the 600ish calories I have remaining -feel like I need to eat, but I just feel so gross. :ambivalence:

Tomorrow is another day. I think you know now what makes you feel good & what doesn't & you should be able to plan to stay healthy & just get fitter & fitter. You have broken the pattern & I think you have very done well.

Completely f*ucked up yesterday. Cooked myself dinner which stayed well within my daily calories then started comfort eating peanut butter out of the jar, ate three slices of butter and peanut butter on toast, half a big tub of Ben and Jerrys and a yum yum...

Was feeling really anxious and nervous all day about all the work I need to do, with limited time to do it-also I found out when my graduation day is, which is stressful because I'm only allowed to invite two people. I have a difficult relationship with my dad, I would rather he be completely out of the picture, but I know he will want/demand to be invited.

Also feeling very disappointed as I thought I had gotten the comfort eating/binge eating under control, but instead fell asleep nursing a stomach ache from all the high fat food.

I'm just going to try again today :(

Is there a second person you'd really prefer to invite? If yes he can demand all he wants but he doesn't actually have any rights as it's YOUR special day, not his. I don't know if it's worth the drama (only you can decide that) but to this internet stranger it sounds like he's learned he'll get his way if he throws a temper tantrum.
How many days till your holiday?

That's always been the problem really, the rest of the family sort of pacify my Dad by including him in certain things, because it's not normally worth the trouble... I may invite my Grandad instead-he's always been very supportive of my academic studies... It's complicated with my Dad but I don't feel like I really have a relationship with him, more that I have an obligation to invite him? And that he'll be offended/kick up a fuss if he doesn't get to come.

I have 30 days until my holiday! Eeek.

Do you want to maintain the relationship with your Dad? Will he be supportive of you if he does go or will his being there make the day stressful? It is your day, but it is also your life & your decision. I am sorry that you are under so much stress because of this as it should be your special day.
:grouphug: Try to get back on track & eat as healthily as you can. No matter what else is happening in your life that will help xo
