Steph's Journey

It sounds like you are doing really well, Steph, other than car problems. Fingers crossed for the car!

Hi everyone!
So things have finally calmed down again. The holidays are over and i managed to snag a 2 day weekend away from work last week.

Just wanted to update y'all on the things going on.

Smoking: still vaping. Thinking about trying a patch because the gums and lozenges give me wicked heartburn. I slip a little at work and have a cigarette once in awhile but ive been trying to be good.

Car: so i talked to a local mechanic and he bought me some time on getting the expensive repair done. The car needs a catalytic converter..but since it runs fine now im not going to worry just yet. I have the old car still..my dad wants to get it fixed as a backup car. It can be fixed to the tune of 600 dollars so i left that up to him to decide.

Everything else: i weighed in yesterday and i am at 325 lbs. The fact that im trying to quit smoking and havent put on a ton of weight is amazing to me. Still not happy about the losses stalling but eh...
Supportive guy isnt in the picture anymore. How do the kids put it these days...we weren't vibing. Great guy just no chemistry.
Ive since been working ALOT on body positivity and self acceptance. I remember saying at one point that i finally accepted myself as i was at that point....maintaining that mindset has been a challenge. Ive settled into a "body neutral" mindset...i dont hate my body but i dont love it either. Ive been coming to appreciate all it does and what it can do.
Things are looking up in 2021 so far. Ill update again soon!

Often that's the best we can do. Well, that and deciding that our bodies are worth taking good care of. Glad to hear things have calmed down a bit for you.

It's good to hear that your life has settled down a bit, Steph. Shame about the supportive guy, but if that spark isn't there now I can't imagine it appearing one day down the track. Will you stay in touch do you think?

Im still thinking about it. It might be hard for me to be friends with him. He has some personal struggles that has caused him some issues in the past with dating(struggles that i was able to embrace)...and it would pain me greatly to hear of him going through that again.

So time and space is what is needed right now.

Fair enough. We have to think of our own mental health & wellbeing as much as we do others.
