Seven or more eggs a week raises risk of death

The bottom line with the article is that :-

Men who ate the most eggs also were older, fatter, ate more vegetables but less breakfast cereal, and were more likely to drink alcohol, smoke and less likely to exercise -- all factors that can affect the risk of heart attack and death.

We all know that the general populace especially kids are overweight, do little or no exercise and consume too much sugar, additives and processed foods. To lay all of this blame on eggs is disproportionate. Everything should be eaten in moderation and lack of exercise affects all.

There was an article saying that vitamins increase mortality. Imagine some obese couch potato hearing that while his wife/kids try to tell him that he should exercise, take a multivitamin etc. The media spin on these articles often has the unintended effect.

Uh-Oh.... I ate 8 eggs today :(... will I die?

I never knew it was possible to microwave eggs.

How long does it take to microwave on high?

You just pour it into a cup, plastic or normal and just microwave it? wow. how simple.

50-55 sec on high and they are done. I like the eggs fluffy myself. Really no cleanup as the eggs just pop out of the 4" tupperware.

I wonder what the author of that article eats for breakfast? Probably Coccoa Puffs and Pop Tarts (he needs fruit right?). Give me my eggs!

LDL to HDL ratio

The egg is probably the most nutritious single unit you can find on earth. Enjoy them as much as you want but make sure you exercise if you want the ratio of LDL to HDL to stay low (<3.4). I suggest you have them in the form of a huge omelet in the morning with lots of mushrooms ham and green peppers:cool:

Most nutritious food? come on you can't be that dumb?
And underpar there are a lot of better alternative to eggs than cocopuffs, maybe if you bothered having a look you would know.

Well what is the most nutritious food then? I'm having a hard time thinking of anything that beats out the egg.

well first you'd have to define "most nutritious" The egg is awesome and has a lot of very good protein and fat. It doesn't contain many vitamins though.

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from there. But if you think about it, the foods that are the highest in good vitamins, like vegetables, are extremely low in macro nutrients. I guess that just means you have to eat a variety of foods.

The healthiest food would be raw fish.

I saw a thing on TV about a guy that survived on a raft lost at sea for a couple of months eating nothing but fish. First he started by just eating the fleshy parts, but then as he started to get low on the vitamins and nutrients he needed, he began to crave things like fish eyeballs and livers. He was able to get all of the nutrients necessary for life from the fish, so I guess it's true.

OMG!

Thats why I said raw fish!

I saw that exact show haha

Pretty crazy how he started "craving" to eat the eyeballs and stuff.

How did his mind know that the eyeballs and livers contain the vitamins he needed?
