Seuss' Hop On Pop - Shape Shifting @40ish

Day 40 (yesterday)...

More walking, but everyone had much fun at the Spy Museum, then lunch, then a visit to Ford's Theatre (for those not up on their history, that's the location Aberham Lincoln was shot).

More walking, then the Metro, then ultimate frisbee and touch football until it was too dark to see the ball. Gotta get moving this morning as we've got a drive up to Philidelphia to drop the boys at soccer camp.

Diet was okay, but will improve this next week when we get a little more of a regular routine.

And YZFRydn-- yeah, not quitting anytime soon. Gotta see this through and see what I can do.

Chillen-- Yeah, give me another month. I just wanna see a little more change and I just started on the weights, heh heh!

"on the weights" < what does that really mean Doc? Did you find the right guy or gal? or are you just doing it anyway? or followng a book? what does that mean buddy? Is Beeems in agreement?

Haha. Well, next time I hope the museum can show teach you it is Abraham haha. Don't worry about it. I have always wanted to go there.

No-- still looking for the right trainer, but in the interim, I'm using the gym trainer and reading up. Beemss is in agreement as long as I'm not doing anything stupid (I know...that's a stretch). The lifts I'm avoiding are the squats until I can find someone to help teach me the correct form. And after the one time on the leg press (on the advice of the trainer), I've decided that one is out.

You know me dude-- not going to do anything too crazy that would risk re-injury. Spent too many years (literally) dealing with the pain to take that kind of risk.

Day 41 (yesterday)...

Not much happened yesterday. Drove the boys up to Philadelphia, got them settled, then drove back. We'll see what I can get in today, but it's likely a day of getting the house back in order and ready for the week.

Will try to get in a little gym time and maybe a run.

I'll update tonight if there's anything to add for the day-- later!

I see that you are quite the busy person as far as your schedule goes. I don't know if you're a morning person or not but you might try just getting up an hour earlier and going to the gym and making it a habit. It blows at first but after a couple of weeks it just becomes routine. Unfortunately now on days that I don't go to the gym my body still wakes up ten minutes before 7 which sucks. Oh well.

Good suggestion-- and it's something the wife and I have pondered; however, with the kids (4 and almost 6) it falls on me to deliver them to daycare during the week. My wife picks them up which allows me a couple nights a week where I can hit the gym on the way home (she get the other couple days). Then on weekends we typically both get some work out time.

So even during the week we're getting up around 6 AM to get everyone ready and out the door to school (or daycare) and work.

Gotta work things in where we can...maybe I can talk my wife in to trying it out...the gym opens at 5 AM...

Haha. Well, I can't contend with having four kids but I know what it is like growing up with 6 siblings. I can only imagine how much you have to do each day. Well, hopefully you can figure something out. I know the more you work out the more energy you will have. So maybe the longer you go on the more that will help out. You have come along way and you just need to keep going.

Thanks man-- the "four" is just temporary on the kids. My nephew and his buddy from Seattle are only here for a couple weeks. That's why July is a little out of sorts for the workout.

It's all good--

Been a while...long while. Will start this up again more routinely in another week (had to made it to the next fiscal year).

I'd love to brag that it's all been great...kept making progress...looking better than ever. I'd really love to brag all that.

Truth is: haven't hit the gym...exercised...

Been very busy and quit making the time...now I've gained, but not where I wanted. Got on the scales this morning and I've hit the 200 lb mark.

Sooooo....got my work cut out for me.

Good news? I'm still not smoking after almost 9 months.

More soon-
