Weight-Loss SELF magazine challenge

I've joined up this challenge yesterday. I'm not sure how to work the buddy list, but my username there is also Tarrish.

I'm not sure if I'll continue to track my calories there, but I'm going to track my work outs for sure. It seems like an interesting site, and it has some good content.
 
I did. I have "SweetiePea" as my username.
 
I've done 215 minutes of exercise so far this week. 130 of cardio, and 85 of strength. Burning a total of 1378 calories! It feels really good. I feel that my body is more flexible (from the yoga I've been doing) and stronger (from the strength training, pilates, and walking) I feel in better shape, even if the pounds aren't gone yet.

What I don't like about this - my HRM and the treadmill monitor bot say I burned far more than 286 calories on my cardio workouts -not that it matters much -the interface on this sucks...

I was going to log in the rest of my exercise today, but apparently when it passes midnight you can't go back to week 1. Darn it! Oh well. Now I know for the future. I did more cardo then suggested this week, and did three days of strength training. I could have eatten better this weekend, but a six hour long training class with nothing but cookies and chips made it a little difficult. If I'd known about the meeting I would have packed my own snacks. Thanks Work! lol

The tracking food portion of the site is really not workable for me - even the workout entries aren't all that great because you can't enter speeds or intensity... but eh - I'm all about winning prizes :)
 
I was aiming for the 300 minute mark, but I got to 270. I completed the cardio and strength though. Last night I got an awful migraine...and just couldn't bring myself out of bed. This week I want to get to 360 minutes.

I was aiming for the 300 minute mark, but I got to 270. I completed the cardio and strength though. Last night I got an awful migraine...and just couldn't bring myself out of bed. This week I want to get to 360 minutes.

You did good! I don't think I got in that many min. all of last week. I really should up my exercise!

Thanks!!! I use exercise as my main means of losing weight because foods are tough for me. I try and try, but slip up easy because as a college student... the good foods are out of my price range. Especially this month as I have a $450 tuition payment due on March 20th, and I'm not getting any hours at work.

I've been slacking on the food tracking but so far have gotten in 530 minutes of exercise and burned 3000 cals (according to the Self calculations) since the beginning of this challenge.

PT at Jazzercise is going really well. We do 35 minutes of strength after the 60 minute class which in itself includes cardio, strength, and stretching.

I'm feeling really good about myself. :hurray:

Ouch!

I so understand about exercise vs. food. For me it's just a combo of both. When I really got down to a good weight, I was working out about 3 hrs a day and then eating lite. It was tough and I got burned out, plus other life things happened. So I just kind of gave it all up. I would workout sporadically almost not at all. My food was just so-so. And I went back up about 30 lbs. So now I'm on the reverse end of that trying to get those 30 lbs back off. But, I don't want to go back to 3 hrs a day of working out - I was being too self-centered then and I feel that it would be the same now. Plus it really does burn you out.

Ooh! Jazzercise sounds like fun! I did that when I was a youngin'. ;)
