Cohen's Lifestyle Sams weight loss journey part.....2

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Sam, Well done on getting through what must have been a trying & testing time in the school canteen. Congratulations on being deviation-free & back in the swing of things again. Doing well Sam! Enjoy your week-end, xo Cate

Hey Sam

Wow look at you, nearly over the biggest hurdle EVER- week one. I found the first week, then the first month to be the hardest but after that it becomes SO natural. I know your an experienced coheniete so you know what your doing and understand this :) Have a fantastic and relaxing weekend and remember things are only going to get better from here on!!!

Take care of yourself and remeber the reasons why your chaning your ''lifestyle'' and not just eating differently for a period of time.

Keep up the good work
xx nicole

Hello Cate and NickyChick:)....thanks for your support.

Day 7
This morning I woke and made myself a yummy omelette with veg from meal 1...On the weekends I will do this as I have the time but will keep it to the yoghurt and fruit on weekends. Lovvvvve my yoghurt:)

Anyway I am having a nice relaxing day today....so happy that I have done all my ironing and I can just potter around the home for abit. Nice change from last weekends hectic one.

It's funny my thoughts on Cohens this time around are of being a lifestyle commitment rather then a short term diet. I mean I know it is very early days and I hope I feel this way in a months time...but what I do know is that if I want to keep this weight off for life I will need follow Cohens for the rest of my life.

I know I said would weigh Monday but I think I'll do it tomorrow that will be a week since I started....really looking forward to a ticker change!

Okay I'll check back later with my menu.

Sam:)

Hello Cate and Diary......well what a frustrating  procress to get on here last night!!!!!!

For the life of me what I thought was my password apparently wasn't so I tried another 2 PW that I use on other forums with no success either!!!!....had to wait 15minutes after each time I'd used up my log in tries. I did get a notification that someone with a different IP address was trying to log into my details here. And last night I wasn't sure what my IP address was but this morning I checked it out and is defferent to who ever was trying to log!!!....
I did find the process to retrieve or make up a new PW frustrating:cuss: as well so I have emailed the administrator here on how to do all this.....on other forums if you forget your pw they will partially show it to you in there emails.....anyway I am here now.
Oh has anyone had this problem?

alright here is my menu for day 8....
Out yesterday visiting my parents with the kids and took my own lunch and snacks etc.

M1 - veg and egg omlette.
M2 - Tuna and salad with 2CB and an apple.
snack - 1cb with and orange
M3 - beef and veg with 2cb.

Okay it's onto Day 9......feeling pretty good and alot more settled now that I am back on here. I was so looking forward to coming in here and last night and just unwinding:willy_nilly:.instead I ended up like this...
Wanted to come visit a few diaries but can't now because I have the kids home from School, it's a pupil free day here so we have the day planned out and about....
Will have to visit diaries either tonight or tomorrow.

Bye for now - Sam:)

Hi sam, you're doing great. Computers grrrrr. I have had similar issues on other sites. This one hasn't been too bad. But I know the frustration. You will be under the 10kg mark of kgs left soon. The downhill trek. That must be such an encouragement.

Hi Sam, I have a little password book & my log-in details are in it, but in code. Only I would be able to work them out. My passwords are different for everything I use & so is my log-in email address. I have plenty of disposable email addresses with yahoo. They are a godsend as if I get spam with any of them I just delete them, after changing whatever I use them for. I only put the first letter of each word & if it's a capital or lower case. It has saved me many a time. Oh boy would anyone end up with a headache if they tried to work them out! Well done on being onto day 9! xo Cate

Hello L-Jay and Cate...

The funny thing is I am now recieving my emails through from here...so maybe in hindsight it was a good thing. Cate I used to actually do what you did but not cyptically. I have a terrible memory and should record things like this.

Well had another good day and I am feeling alot better each day and my hunger is not so strong anymore. I think this time it is taking longer for the diet to register in my body compared to the intial. I'm sure my bloods and hormones have changed over this 3 year period but as long as I am losing that is all that matters for now.
Tom arrived today so at least the cravings should settle now.....satisfied my sweet tooth by having pawpaw and mango today as my fruits.....truely yummy:).

Okay Menu for day 9....

M1 - yoghurt and pawpaw.
M2 - beef and english spinach with 2 CB.
snack - mango and 1 CB
M3 - chicken and veg with 2 CB.
2 decafs and 2 black teas.....

time to come and pay you all a visit now.

Sam:)

Hello Diary and all:)

Well it's day 10 and tom is here and I need to clean the house!!!

Anyway......

Not much to say except I had a bad nights sleep, probably due to hubby being away!
His back this evening and also I didn't visit the loo today which does distress me but this could be due to tom as well.....

Anyway I'll be back tonight to record my menu etc...

have a happy day all - Sam:)

Day 10 done and dusted:)

Tom is not being nice to me:(, but I suppose he doesn't discriminate that way with any of us girls.
Anyway had a busy day cleaning the whole house it looks and feels lovely and clean.
That' was my exercise for today.

Todays Menu for day 10

M1 - yoghurt and mango
M2 - beef, veg and 2CB
Snack - 1CB and an apple.
M3 - mozzarella, veg and 2 CB.

Seeya all back here tomorrow, have a good night now.

Sam:)

Hi Sam, Day 10 done & dusted (literally!) I have started Spring-cleaning too but have a fair way to go yet for it to be schmicko! How's your pool? Is it warm enough yet to swim in? I think I'll see if I can hire one over Summer for an hour a week. xo Cate

Hi Cate, Dairy and all:)

Cate my pool is still too cold....even though it was 29 degrees here today.
I was visiting a pool before we got ours, so it is a good idea. I noticed my swimming has improved as well since having the pool.
Funny I did some spring cleaning yesterday as well.

Okay Day 11's Menu

M1 - 1 egg and mushrooms
snack - apple
M2 - Tuna salad with 2CB
snack - pawpaw and 1 CB
M2 - Chicken and veg curry with 2 CB.

I don't feel like I've lost anything now that tom is here.....
I just feel bloated and full of fluid..(which I am, I suppose).

My day was nice had a friend come for a visit for the day.....good catch up.

Okay then hope you all have a relaxing weekend. I am off for a shower and may take a mersendroyl for this terribly headache and have an early night.

Bye now - Sam:)

Hi Diary:)

Well went to bed early and woke early with the same headache..
It was actually bordering on nausa!!!
Anyway had to get up and get kids ready for School so I took a quick acting Neurofen, which did the trick. I don't know what it is atm but I just feel in a slump all the time.....maybe it's tom???....but I am also very fuzzy in my thinking!!!
I am taking a mutivitamin, 2 iron tablets (because I am low in iron), Vit D tabs ( low here too) and L-Carntitine which assist with fat absorbtion. I have had my thyroid and adrenals checked and apparently they are within normal range. So I don't know what's up.

I have just recently gone back on the pill to control my heavy periods which the Doctor attributes to my low iron levels. He did suggest the Mirena but I was apprehensive to have this inserted. So I have only been back on the pill for a month now, oh and the other thing I've noticed is my skin is very dry and I am having break outs which is new too me.

Anyway I just thought I would throw this out there and see if anyone can shed some light.

Okay I'll be back to post menu tonight.

Keep well and hope everyone is having a great day - Sam:)

Hey hun, just wanna say, don't mess with heavy periods/low iron levels too long without some serious checking by a doc...

My wife went through this for a while and in the end, needed surgery. Pleeze check things out and don't take chances.

Hi Sam

Sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you can sort it out. A lot of my friends have the mirena and they love it as Tom stops completely. But it is a bit spotty to start and then goes altogether. Maybe the pill doesn't agree with you.

I found that for the first month on Cohen, my skin was acting up a bit and my skin was quite dry. First months Tom was the same as before. Second month it settled somewhat.

Speak to your doc.

Hope your day improves.

Sue

Thanks Cabbie and Sue...

Cabbie what sort of surgery did your wife have?
Sue I have heard good and bad things about the Mirena so that's why I hestitated and thought I'd go back on the pill to control it. It's early days yet so will see how it all pans out...

Day 11 went well, tom coming to an end so that is a good thing compared to before. I suppose it is only week 2 on Cohens so I probably need to give myself time to for the hormones and everything to settle down. It's my lower back and neck that are playing up abit and happens more so around tom time. Anyway enough complaining.

Menu for Day 11

M1 - yoghurt and mango
M2 - beef and veg stir fry with 2CB
snack - apple and 1 CB
M3 - chicken and a cabbage salad...this was a really yum dish:) with 2 CB.

Have a good night all - Sam:)

I had this whole post all written up and since it took too long, I had to log back in and it went away.. :(

Bottom line was that after a good pap, the doc was only going to prescribe mirena. My wife pushed him a bit, her referred her to another doc (who was much better, IMO), who then proceeded to run her through a total of about 3 different procedures, that in the end, finally resulted in a hysterectomy, because she had early stage cancerous cell s growing behind a polyp that hadh been removed hysteroscopically. She is fine now, no further issues, and she kept her ovaries, so no hormone replacement necessary.

I happened to see the iron suppliment and heavy period statements in the same conversation here in your diary, and a light went off. I don't mean to sound scary, I just want to make sure you are covering your options is all.

I sat with my wife through every appt and procedure that I was allowed to, and would/will do it again if it ever becomes necessary. It was not a lot of fun, even if in the end it all turned out fine.

Oh yeah, and for the record? since it's gone now, neither one of us misses TOM... :biggrinjester:
