First day back at work this year and it was awful; a complaint has been made while I was off and two of my lovely colleagues have stitched me up to take the blame. They are both senior to me, one is my line manager. I was the last person to touch the job to be fair, but I'd complained to my line manager that I didn't have sufficient knowledge or experience to do this particular task. She didn't want to do it herself so delegated it to me regardless. In the end I did it, but only under direction from both of them - and they were both happy I did it right. Anyway, now it's gone belly-up they took the opportunity to wash their hands of it while I was out of the office! Grrrr!

So, after I'd been stewing all day the boss called me in for a 'chat'. Turns out he's backing me all the way haha! She shouldn't ever have given me this task to do and he's really not happy about it. He's not too impressed with my other colleague either - he'd denied having anything to do with it but I was able to show the boss significant evidence otherwise.

Tomorrow will be fun, boss is out of the office so has asked me not to say anything to the others. They will both assume I'm taking the blame, while I know better but I'm not allowed to say haha! At least I know where I stand with those two now.

Anyway, weekend steps were mixed, Saturday was only 7,500ish steps while Sunday was just over 10,000. Today is 12,800. Calories were probably around 2300ish on both weekend days, today 1850. I think steady is the keyword here lol.

The fun we have with office social dynamics... Sorry you have to deal with it but great that the bigger boss is on it.

Just a quick update tonight

Calories around 1700
Steps 17,500

Noticed my resting bpm has risen slightly over the last week or two. I'm thinking this is because I've been quite leisurely in my walking. Tonight I pushed a bit harder so we'll see If I can keep that up and bring it back down. Not that I think it's high, I'm just curious lol

Great to hear your boss has a clue! And yeah , now you really know where those two stand! Good job on the steps as usual. You are killing it.

Sorry for not posting in a while, I've been really busy. I do feel self-indulgent when I only have time to post to my own diary without dropping in to lend support elsewhere, so I hope that explains things lol.

That said, this is just a quick one tonight. I've been avoiding the scales since I started this latest journey at the start of November. I know I was at least 336lbs (24 stone) because I was above that in the summer when I last weighed in - and from then until November I definitely couldn't say I'd held back.

Anyways... my son asked me to buy some bathroom scales earlier this week; he's joined a gym, had a fitbit for his birthday recently and so he wanted to weigh himself. I tried to argue that the gym should be able to weigh him, surely lol but he said no, I had to buy some. So the scales arrived today and after he'd done his bit I braved stepping on. 294.4lbs, just a smidge over 21 st :D

In my mind it's not a huge loss, but a stone a month is pretty darned good - and not too fast either. I know it won't carry on at that rate but I'm very happy indeed :) It's also great not to see a '3' at the start of the weight. That was such a hurdle that I struggled with last time

O well done, Stan! I know the scale isn´t everything but it´s awfully nice when it´s moving in the right direction.

Thanks all, your support means a lot :)

General updates from this week...
Steps each day all over 10k
Calories all around the 2000 mark
New trousers for work in a smaller size
New belt for aforementioned trousers, the old one is too big and loose now
Fitbit strap had to be tightened down one notch

All good :D

Geeky statistics alert! If stats bore you, skip this post haha! I do love a few stats so when I downloaded my fitbit data I couldn't resist. I've taken the 82 days since I started on 1st November and compared against the previous 2 months of data (which was 59 days as I didn't wear my fitbit for 2 of those days). Anyway...

I took my 1 millionth step today :) Sadly I can't pinpoint which one it was haha. Total steps are at 1,005,659 since 1st Nov, at an average of 12,264 which is up by 5,352 each day on the previous period.

I'm walking an average of 5.69 miles each day, up from 3.21

Minutes sedentary is down by 93 minutes per day.

Minutes lightly active and fairly active are around the same, but minutes very active are up by 40 minutes a day on average.

Calories burned are not going to be too acurate as I was (under) guessing my weight from Nov 1st and, well, I don't see how the fitbit can be trusted for an accurate burn tally (I just use it as a rough guide). But they still say I'm burning 500 more calories through activity each day than I was before. Total of 158,502 calories have been burned through activities.

On to today... woke up feeling a bit chesty but didn't think much of it so went out in the snow for a walk. Really struggled with the walk though, I felt really ill and barely had any pace in my stride for the latter part of the walk. Looks like I've caught some bug which is annoying as I never really felt 100% since the last one. Felt so very weak so I took on some extra calories and had an afternoon nap until I felt a bit better.

Those are some pretty amazing improvements  Really hope you won´t get the Stan-flu again though :( I´m afraid it´s doughnut season here (typically filled with either apricot jelly or custard, these days often with Nutella; thankfully I don´t like any of them) so I can´t even send some health your way.

Awesome on the improvements. I really need to up my steps each day. I kinda feel like I go to the gym, so I can just sit around and be lazy the rest of the day, lmao. Just walking a bit or something can make a huge difference over time - as your progress has proven!
