Red Panda: Cute but fierce!

I was just thinking I should also note my current weight/measurements right, since this is a journal and I haven't in awhile :p

Weight: 147 lbs
Bust: 34 in
Waist: 28 in
Hips: 38.5 in
Thigh: 22.5 in

Yay :) So pretty much holding steady with whatever measurements you probably saw last, but heavier. Stronger though, and looking less flabby, so I have to assume its muscle.

I'm thinking I need new pics soon - I'm told there's been good improvement over here! I've been going to the gym 4-5 days out of the week for what they call "Tummy Tri's and Thighs" class. It used to be kind of silly, but the trainer they hired a few months ago does a really good job of making sure everyone works to their potential. Its only 4 to a class so there is personalized attention. Some days we incorporate cardio, some days we do free weights, some days we use the machines, but its always a little different.

I also have been trying to keep up the yoga but I'm sad to say I've only been making it once every other week *ashamed* because the classes just happen to clash with my current schedule. The gym is easy, its open 24 hours and the classes are at 7 or 9pm at the end of my day. I'll have to work harder to fit the yoga in, because I do love it.

And of course there is the pole dancing. My inverts are getting smoother, my spins stronger, and I have learned a couple new spinning tricks. I've been working on some new inverts but I always miss them by just a little - arms need to be just that tiny bit stronger to nail them. Which is of course where the gym comes in. So, working hard, firming up, and needing to update at some point in my busy life.

Just updating that I'm going back on the eating plan I was on in the fall, the one that helped me lose fat before. I had gone off it because one of my medications required a specific diet, but I'm off that one now so its back to what worked for me :) Boiled eggs in the morning, yogurt or nutrition bar for morning snack, tuna salad or chicken for lunch, fresh fruit as afternoon snack, steamed veggies and rice for dinner, greek yogurt with honey for dessert. Also smoothies here and there as treats. No juice or soda, just water.

It was really easy for me to stick to, so its the one I'm going back to. Easy to prepare foods, no temptation if I don't shop outside that list, nothing on there I'd have trouble portioning (that is, nothing I'd want to eat way too much of), and pretty rounded nutrition I think.

Looks like you have been working hard! You keep it up! Glad you can get back to your desired eating plan. I know it can make a difference, and with your workouts, you're slammin'!

So day one of the eating plan went well, with the exception of tuna for lunch being substituted with a falafel! My friend took me to a Lebanese restaurant, but falafel is still healthy so I feel ok about that. Also those bumps on my joints I mentioned before came back, so today the doctor biopsied one of them (Ouch!) and hopefully I'll have answers soon. They think its most likely an auto-immune disease, which could be really dangerous or totally harmless depending on which one. I'll know next week. Because not enough is wrong with me already right? Argh. :(

Hang in there gal! Hopefully it isn't anything that can't be dealt with! It's amazing what medical advances we have made!

I'll keep positive thoughts for ya!

pulling for you doll!

Thanks guys, I'm trying to stay positive and not worry unless I have to. I'm just glad I'll have an answer soon, I've been bounced from doc to doc since November! I can't bend my finger for a week which puts a cramp in a lot of things, but I can still run and walk :)

Keep us posted, and keep yer chin up! :D

So despite my finger-biopsy I went to the gym last night for a weights class. It was pretty funny since they of course biopsied... my middle finger. Its all taped and gauzed so that I can't bend it, so I picked up the weights and apologized in advance to the other people, telling them not to take my finger personally =P They thought it was hilarious. Anyway it was easier than I thought to lift the hand weights with one finger not in use, so a good workout was had! Hooray!

Good stuff! Personally I use my middle finger the most in my bar grip, so I'd be 'effed! On a side note, I want to find a girl that does pole dancing but isn't/wasn't a stripper! Seems to be impossible, but I'm taking advice :D

Can't you find a non-stripper girl and then convince her to pole dance? :p Or you could find a pole dance studio in your area and linger outside it observing the students until you find one you like... (not creepy at all right?)

And I bet I wouldn't even be the only one waiting out there! :yelrotflmao:

Biopsy came back, and the news is pretty good =) I have a pretty benign condition called Granuloma Annulare, which is chronic but not harmful. So basically I'll have strange bumps and stuff pop up and fade away now and then at random. The doctor recommended I take Niacinamide as it apparently reduces the outbreaks, and if one of the lesions is ever particularly unsightly or painful they can get rid of it with a cortisone injection. So I am not dying of lupus or anything (yay!) I'm just a little bumpy in the joints now and then.

Now that my finger is all set, and I'm back from my one week vacation in Nantucket (yes, I got a tan!) as of yesterday I'm right back in to my workouts. Went for an hour to the gym yesterday, and tonight I'm going to a weight class there too. My weight is holding steady, but I'm noticing more definition in my back :)

For those who missed the new post:

My spinning pole video =) Work different muscles, takes more strength to hang on, but its so fun. The roller-coaster of workouts heehee.

Just had to stop by and say good job on the video. I bet that took a lot of hard work.
