Hello lovelies - having a complete nightmare of a day. I only have til the 27th Jan to sort out all my case transfers before I go to my new job. To re-cap, I'm being funded by my workplace to complete my social work degree (already work as an unqualified social worker so it basically means I will get a pay-rise at the end and do more child protection and less of what I'm doing now which is with young adults leaving care) so I'm working full-time and supposed to be doing around 20 hours a week of University work. I've just had a look at what I'll be doing next module and it's just insane, no idea how they want us to complete it in the time frames we have been given, alongside my law module that doesn't end til June! So will be juggling a brand new job, having weekly supervision of two hours, averaging one 4000 word essay a fortnight whilst working full-time. Feeling overwhelmed and very stressed. The paperwork is just insane - all practice learning agreements, direct observations, supervision records, records of practice etc that I will have to do alongside another module. I'm also being supervised by 3 different people. Which makes no sense to me. Hoping I'm going to be organised enough to do all this!

Maaaah. Just venting. I've been home from work for 2 hours and still working my way through the initial paperwork for the learning agreement. Think life is going to get a whole lot busier from the end of the month. Luckily I will have you lovely people to rant to.

Will be back later to post food. Back to the fun. Yank cooking as I am close to teaaaaaaars.

Sorry to hear next semester looks grim. Sadly I´m no good at planning so the only advice I have is: aim for passing grades and no more.

Oh, honey that sounds gruelling. Something has to give there Hana & we don't want it being you. It sounds like any extra "work" you do that is not compulsory may have to be put on hold. You, my lovely, are not Superwoman. Close, but no-one is infallible. Hope you have a good cry & feel better afterwards. You'll be right hon, as you're a very smart cookie (low-calorie of course) xoxoxo

Oh no Hana, that sounds insane! Yank better get used to cooking more if he doesn't already. Listen to Cate, make sure you aren't doing anything unnecessary while you sort everything out.

Oh my gosh - Hana that sounds awful! Is there a way to talk to your supervisor and ask how other people have handled this course-load plus working full time? He or she may have some ideas and if this isn't the norm, perhaps they can re-modify your course/work load?

That seems like a LOT and while you WILL get through it, sleep is important too. I handled a full time job editing a newspaper + starting a student revolt (it was an accident, I swear) and 6 courses for a semester and towards the end was veering off into a very unhealthy amount of alcohol to cope. It was NOT fun...and your workload looks like about double that.

Take it easy, breath and vent as much as you need to. Worst case, I volunteer to write an essay lol!

Hey lovelies - thank you for your support. Was having a slight melt-down last night but went to bed early, didn't get drunk and am feeling a bit better today. Just need to get organised and make a plan. I hate being unprepared which makes me quite funny about doing things way, way in advance to avoid the last minute feeling that I hate. I've triple checked and my next thing isn't due til March so I need to get a little perspective, focus on doing my reading and getting my case transfers done for my current job and start revising for my law exam. I will be okay - I did my first degree whilst working 70 hour weeks supporting Yank (he couldn't work on his first visa) and I managed. I am capable and confident and in controllllll.

Doesn't help that it's time of the month and I feel like a beached walrus. Weigh in not til Sunday so hoping to be off by then and back to a normal level of fatness. Calories much better today, ideally don't want to be over 1400 but happy to have a higher day.

Today I have a meeting with the police over my kid that stole the Maserati car - got to give a statement. Police officer has gorgeous phone voice so am hoping for bearded loveliness...lovely handcuffy police. Also one of my homeless kids just found a flat! Today will be a good day. I will be meeting the lady who is taking my cases over whilst I'm on my placement so hopefully she will be receptive to my ideas of what I would like her to do. No plans for tonight - hoping to relax as we are going hiking all day tomorrow.

Thanks again for all your kindness, you guys are very important to me x

1) Doesn't help that it's time of the month and I feel like a beached walrus.

First of all: LOL.
Ad 1): Walruses can move around on dry land and get back into the water when they want to, so your condition is preferable over that of a beached whale. Yay for independence!
Ad 2): rotflmfao.

I love that you spun dealing with the police officer. Way to think happy thoughts :)

Good luck with your schooling. I can't imagine trying to juggle all that, but you can do it. My step-mom went through a similar process and she kicked butt.

Police officer was very yummy. Was the highlight of an otherwise dull day. Have chilled this evening - no news to share. Off for a hike early tomorrow morn so having an early night.

Howdy girl
When i was getting my degree and working it felt like it was more than i could handle. Then i just got use to the workload. Your body will adjust to the stupid sleep hours and your multitasking skills will surprise you. Your going to be just fine. :)

Thanks Rebel - I'm feeling much more positive today. It'll get done - It might not be much fun but it'll get done!

Cate - he was seriously gorgeous. Contemplating crime-ing it up so I can be arrested.

Off hiking now - have a great day folks <3

Hullo Emily - it was feckin' awesome. Did 11 miles by the time we got home but 10 miles of actual hiking. Here are some photos! My feet are now horribly sore so I have not moved from the sofa since 6.

Just finished watching 12 Angry Men - never seen it before and thought it was exceptional. Am now writing this whilst Yank watches old Jim Carey stand up and then going to bed as have walked myself sleepy -25,000 steps!! Weighed in this evening and am down a bit for this week despite time of ze month but will post officially tomorrow for end of week 2.

14th January (day 13)

Breakfast: graze box, alpen bar (235)
Lunch: skipped as snacking whilst hiking so breakfast spread over a few hours..
Dinner: 2 cup brown rice, 1 egg, broc, mushrooms, peppers, onion, 1/2 naan bread, sesame oil (home-made egg fried rice!) (882)
Snack: frozen curly wurly, 2 x 187ml wine (422)

Total: 1539
Steps: 25,000!

It does look absolutely lovely Hana. It also looks familiar. Have you been there before & posted photos?

Hey Cate - no, last weeks hike was at a place called Staunton - this was Queen Elizabeth Country park in Petersfield - both do look quite similar..lots of the same trees, mix of open space and foresty areas... Haven't been in ages but went with my Dad and Yank about 18 months ago so may have posted pictures then! xx
