keep with it man, the times will improve. when i first started at 236, I ran a 7:30...in a year and a half's time I shaved a minute and an half off my time.
1.5 miles use to take me 15 mins (about four years ago on a treadmill) But I had a go at it yesterday and managed it in 11mins 12secs (treadmill) which is proof that the running I've been doing everday really has helped. I want to be able to do it 10mins and with out the aid of a treadmill (it takes 12 mins on my normall route)
This sounds about right. In the army for the recruitment standard you need to be able to run 2 miles in 11 minutes for fmls and maybe 10 mins for males.
My best time was right on about 10 for 2 ( fml 169 cm, give or take either side around 45 kgs) but these days I wouldn't have a clue.
Sounds fun though. When it warms up I 'll check it out.
The current world record is sitting at 3mins 43 which is godammin flying. I don't think i'm going to go near that anytime soon :/.....
i don't know why i'm mentioning this, but after reading a thread somewhere else about times on a mile, out of curiosity i spoke to my father today who used to run and was the faster miler on his squad... he says 40 yrs ago the worldrecord was 3mins58. and his time was 4mins 10. I think i just realised how fast that was!!:0:0..
Even wiith those genes and training with him from kneehopper, i think i'm just going to leave the record breaking to you guys!
