Workout Songs

I just got my MP3 player. I'm adding my music to it for my workouts. So I thought I'd start a thread.

What do you find to be good work out songs? You know, what gets the heart pumping and the legs going? :p

Its always one song on any workout track... "Eye Of the Tiger" , the Rocky song... :D

I'm not really a big huge fan of techno, but most of it has really good beats and keeps you going. i have found that working out to techno remixes of some of my favorite songs is a good way to work out. I have Tainted Love, Bittersweet Symphony, Kung Fu Fighting, Staying Alive... i used to have a subscription to a download service and got a bunch of them that way...

I like listening to cheesy disco and funk from the 70s. "Shake Your Groove Thing," "Car Wash," "Brick House," "Shining Star," ect. It's fun and makes you move.

I like big butts is kind of funny when it comes on..........I listen to rock,Metallica, Ozzy, Alice in chains is a favorite, Eminem.

YEA, thats too funny, just yesterday I downloaded like most of the old ones like, George Benson, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, most of those r on the album "Bye Bye Blackbird"....its good stuff

lol yes "Baby Got Back" (or as you call it, "i like big butts") haha never thought of that one. How motivating :p Actually, that's one of my favorite songs! :)

I realized that I didn't put what I personally listen to. All sorts of stuff though really. On my MP3 player right now I have Eminem, No Doubt, Scorpions, Ozzy, etc. I like all different types of music so it ranges from Classic Rock, Modern, Rap, Pop, R&B, Rock, Emo, etc. (depends on my mood) :p Pump Up The Jam!!! haha

The biggest problem i have with 70's disco is that the songs are only 3 minutes long. It breaks up my stride.

Meatloaf's- I Would Do Anything for Love (but I won't do that) - is a good workourt song because not only does it have a good beat, it's 12 minutes long.

I just started working out to The Brian Setzer Orchester - fast rockin' swing - When the House is a'Rockin', Johnny Cool, VooDoo Doll - good stuff.

Here are a few that get me sweating:
Kylie Minogue "can't get you out of my head"
Will Smith "Getting Jiggy With it" "Miami"
Bobby Brown "my perogative"
Chaka Kahn "Aint nobody"
Sugar Hill Gang "Rappers Delight"

ROTFL!! you're so funny.Meatloaf is o.k but i would exactly pick it as one of my workout songs.
As for Baby got back,i believe it's my national anthem lol actually love it too!
I usualy work out to anything with a good fast beat to keep up the pace. :)

I'm going to make a CD for myself to listen to while I bike or maybe even go jogging once the weather warms back up again in a few months. The thing is, I'm having trouble thinking up enough good music to exercise to. What I'm looking for is high-tempo, up-beat and really energetic music you can really MOVE to. I am really flexible on the "genre" of music, with the exception of rap. Hip hop and urban are okay if they're actually good music, but rap I have a lot of issue with because it usually isn't good music at all in my opinion.

The songs I have so far (in no particular order, just how they show up in my "All" playlist):
Bad Religion - A Walk
Finger Eleven - Good Times
Great Big Sea - Newfie Rap
Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl
Led Zepplin - Immigrant Song
Sir Mix A Lot - Baby Got Back
Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal
Dan Nielson - (unknown title, from the LOTR trailer)
Final Fantasy X - Battle of Jecht
Great Big Sea - End of the World As We Know It
Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta
Kylie Minogue - I Can't Get You Outta My Mind
Kylie Minogue - Love At First Sight
Lustra - Scotty Doesn't Know
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Rob Dougan - Clubbed to Death II
Soil - Breaking Me Down
Utada Hikaru - Simple and Clean (English remix)

That's 18 songs (by the way I would suggest any of these songs to anyone), but I want to collect as many as I can because I get bored of listening to the same music over and over again, and also because I love collecting music in general. My discman can play MP3's also, so that means I can get hundreds of songs onto a single CD if I can find that many.

For anyone that would care to know, I have nearly 12 hours of music on my comp right now, though I don't know how many files that is. And this is just on my profile. FH has probably 3 or 4 hours on his profile that isn't accessable from mine because he always saves it in "his" documents rather than shared :p

Hm, I should go raid his music files for something I might like.

To toss out some "youngins"
I like Britney Spears Toxic
Ashlee Simspson, Boyfriend (even my FH likes this..and he's TOTALLY not typically into this type of music!)

I like to listen to Linkin Park, Metallica, breaking benjamin, Nightwish, within temptation, evanescence, and Earshot when I work out. As well as fun songs like 'I like to move it' 'Car Wash' ect. They've all got good workout beats and I love singing along.

I haven't seen this one on here but I normally listen to it over my workout movies, it's Sean Paul's "Get Busy" I think that what it's called but this beat is very booty shakin! works everytime!:p

I'm a *big* fan of Johnny Cash, but his music doesn't quite do it for workouts. :p

I like to listen to techno, or anything with a solid beat. Right now I just listen to whatever's playing at the gym, because my headphones always fall out. Need to get some new ones...I think with more music that I like, I'd be able to stay on the cardio machines longer.
