When this stuff was out about 12 years ago, I loved it! I was lookin so hot no one could tell me anything. When they took it off the market, I wanted to cry. Yep, I gained the weight back too, sadly. Now, I just maintain my normal weight. But, it sure was nice being called "skinny" for once in my life. :)

Same thing here. I lost over 40lbs in 3 months while taking . Gained EVERY SINGLE pound back and plus 15 more after I stopped taking it. I found out that its really bad for you also.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have hypothyroidism, just had a little girl 6mos ago, and cannot lose weight. I do WW plan and exercise 35-45 minutes a day/5days a week. My doctor prescibed 30mg of phentermine. Does anyone have any experiance or advice on this medication?

Thank you

Hi! So you need treatment for your hypothyroidism, not appetite suppressant pills, to be honest. Until your hormonal status won't be normal, I don't think anything else could really help. You should ask your doctor how to treat your disease and then, on the background of your exercises and WW plan, your weight will become normal automatically.

So, now and again I will take one (10mg) if I really really think I may lose control. That day I will stick with my normal eating plan - and be thankful for less hunger and less cravings! But I notice the irritability & insomnia and more than that - I think for me - it takes away any confidence I have in myself and my ability to be healthy - on my own 2 feet!

The first time I tried it - I cried - it felt like a brain transplant - and suddenly I realised how it must feel to not actually be thinking about food, eating food or planning to eat food etc...

BUT yeah - I'm anti them - and I also know, from experience that the effects don't last - like someone said - sooner or later - you just have to say NO yourself - without the gimmics and short cuts - because you really have had enough - and want to put down the inappropriate use of food!

Gee - I'm still struggling to really accept this fully! I also admit - that for me having less carbs - helps me to have less cravings and less overeating - so am happy with that relief!

Anyway, sorry for going on, this thread must have pushed a button! hehe:seeya:

really old thread just that brings spammers now. Closing.
