Petals diary

Thanks for the link!

Not much to report here at the moment . Had a couple of food struggles but nothing too major. Have walked 3 days in a row.
Work is just mega busy and there are lots of unhappy staff right now due to the covid payments which we are still on and should not be we feel. Also I need a break as not really had a holiday from work now since February. I might be a little burnt out . I might take a day next week.
Weather is rotten most of the time but I think to improve.

Reading lots though which I enjoy and am enjoying time with my grown up kids . So some positives still to be had.
Pubs are not now opening until August which I feel is a good move . Considering I cannot get a breast check which I'm well overdue the country needs to get its priorities straight.

I hope you do get to take a break from work, Petal. I agree with you that many people/countries need to get their priorities right. I am going to get back into reading again after the weekend. I find reading a novel is about the most relaxing thing I can do.

I would sgree that as long as necessary services can't work safely yet unnecessary ones with lots of people in enclosed spaces really shouldn't either.

The pubs I can live with but I do feel sorry for the business owners.

I know a lot of people won’t agree with me but making masks mandatory in shops scares me. I just don’t see when exactly these major laws that are being rushed in are ever going to be reversed. I don’t want to have to wear a mask in public for the rest of my life.

We also had a girl in the office demanding we all download the tracker app. This is the problem now, people think they can order you to ‘comply’ with everything. I don’t like the way society is going. There’s so much finger-pointing. And no, I won’t be downloading that app and it is my right not to.

Hey Petal, it looks like you are doing great, fending off the temptations and walking, can't beat that!

That does sound like mixed up priorities. Not that ours are any better, but at least we have no restrictions on medical care, all that is open.
am enjoying time with my grown up kids
It doesn't get much better than that, not for a good mama like you!

Hi all sorry have been distracted a bit . I have been walking loads really happy with it and toning up . Weight loss is so slow , I’m at a standstill but hoping another week of exercise and eating healthy it will eventually happen but I’m happy with how I look and feel so I’m not stressing .

As long as you´re relatively satisfied with where you´re at maintaining is pretty awesome.. Times are weird and it makes weightloss harder.

Hey Petal, good to hear from you. And you know that "walking loads", "toning up", and being "happy with how I look and feel" are a whole lot more important than the speed of weight loss. You are right not to stress over it, you are doing great!

Thanks everyone. Rob yeah sorry the days fly by and I struggle to post sometimes .
Em that’s what I’m banking on the living healthy will reflect on the scales eventually. I don’t want to get too het up on it .

thank you Cate . LaMa yes times are weird . I am happy to have maintained more or less in this lockdown . I certainly wasn’t deprived of food ! And I do feel good and fitter.

So my son will be living and working at home for the foreseeable future and my daughter . College will be online . I know it probably sounds selfish but I miss my bit of alone time at home when i would get home and there was just me and the dog for an hour or 2 . Also September was going to be start of a different life phase for me but saying all that I am loving the fun and chat and company .
and they are in different phases of their lives which is great .

Yeah, I think things are being to be different for a lot longer than we imagined. It’s good that you can see the bright side, but not having alone time is definitely tricky.

I find that about my shared place as well - because people aren’t travelling as much or meeting others, there is someone always there. It is nice to just have a cup of tea and watch TV uninterrupted, but it’s ok.

I can´t remember if your kids help out around the house but if not now would be a GREAT time to change that. Because if they weren´t living at your place they´d have housework to do as well and it´s healthy to keep those habits going.

I’m with you on having that quiet time to yourself, Petal. It’s very hard to not do all the things you used to do when your kids stay, but I agree with LaMa. They should pitch in & do their fair share. You are entitled to your own life & space & may need to get that across somehow. It’s hard.

Yes the kids are not bad at all . Everyone is responsible for their own laundry now ( well except husband I do his ) . Breakfasts lunches are own responsibility. I do dinner mostly and son likes to make his own dinner as he prefers to eat late after the gym etc. It's just more the stillness and peace I miss for that hour or so.

I have first lunch ( first meal bar a coffee) out today since lockdown so first in about 5 months how weird is that .

Oh, I really hope you enjoy it Petal.

The house routine sounds pretty good. It’s nice that everyone does their bit. Your kids always come across well anyway, I’m sure they’re lovely.

i'm glad having them home doesn't mean a lotof extra work. You did things right raising them!
