Weight-Loss One Hundred Push-ups Challenge 2009 Edition

Weight-Loss
This is such a cool idea! I'm so bad at push ups (even the 'knee' ones) I can only do about 5 :-(. I'm going to start tomorrow and see how I get on for the next 6 weeks.

Hey guys!

Another week over and I can see there are a couple of us soldiering on!

Very happy with my progress this week...i'm up 9 from last week, up 14 in total...awesome!

Keep working hard and post your progress!

Hey!

So I never came back with my initial test for this challenge...

BUT!

I'm still doing push-ups, and a lot of them! Just not counting each time.

But let me tell you, from not being able to do ONE real push-up (on the toes) I found my self doing FIVE in a row today at the gym!

I was pretty happy about that and I just wanted to share :)

Aloha

I started this morning (woke up early before work). Started the Push up, Sit up, and Squat programs.

10 push up (I decided I needed to start with knee push ups after a quick aborted attempt on toes. Toe version had 2.5 with quite a bit of effort.)

19 crunches. (I didn't feel this excercise much at first, and then it just started to burn and hurt... oh my goodness, do you feel it.)

The Squats, my initial test had past the 3rd column. I was at 30 something and still going; I assumed I was doing them wrong. Decided to adjust leg position and depth of the squat. WOW! What a difference a little lower makes. (Paranoid about going too low, since I wrecked my knees in wresting/football.) 9 'real' squats. I decided to work from the middle column, since I had already done the 30 'bad' squats.

Great fun though. It had me huffing and puffing for a good 30 minutes!

I didn't know they had a challenge for squats...and thats kinda funny because I added them to my routine just because I wanted to.

I'll join! I've been working on improving my push-ups for a while now and its slow going. Maybe this will motivate me to not skip days lol. I'll even do the sit ups too :p I am going to try to do them mon, wed, and fri so I'll use fri as my end of the week test.

I like the "1 real, 15 girly" lol.

I keep having to restart because I'm not being consistant, but I'm going to try again Monday and I'll be starting off with girlies lol. Then if I can finally complete that, I'll do full push-ups as a second challenge.

I like the "1 real, 15 girly" lol.

I'm not consistent either... probably why I am still at one real lol. One day my arms will cooperate and not give out on me. I figure lifting weights.. doing push-ups regularly and losing 40 pounds should help hehe.

I'm going to have to re-evaluate this. I need to do all of the above and I didn't realize they extended the challenge to include squats and sit-ups.

I am getting back in the game, but haven't looked at the 100 push-ups site in awhile. I did however get in 10 "girly" push-ups this evening. :D

I havn't realy been keeping up with the program due to time and my normal training but i believe i am up to 60 full tricep pushups, still not the full 100 but getting there. I wasn't aware there was a squat program but it is not something that would help me much although i did take a quick look at the test and pushed out a quick 200 ATG squats.

I googled 100 push ups and found a plan for training to do 100. After 6 weeks I'd guess that I'll be able to do 30-50.
