Any one would like to do the 100 Push-up Challenge? If so, join in! I started last year but didnt complete it. :banghead:

So here I'll post the same info that Sweatpea posted last year. Here is the link:

This is a 7 week challenge (you might have to go a little longer if you have to repeat a week or two).

(But Anyone may join at anytime! The more the merrier :grouphug: Adjust the dates to work for you.)

You can post whatever statistics you like and set up mini-goals to add to these. Copy the following if you like:

Push-ups: (type of push-ups)
Initial test:
End of Week 1 (02/28/09):
End of Week 2 (03/07/09):
End of Week 3 (03/14/09):
End of Week 4 (03/21/09):
End of Week 5 (03/28/09):
End of Week 6 (04/4/09):
Final Test Week 7 (04/11/09):

Arm circumference:
Starting: R:______ L:______
Ending: R:______ L:______

Add any other stats you would like to track as well over the next 7 weeks. Feel free to leave any stats out too - I don't want this to make you feel uncomfortable (except for maybe while doing the push-ups!)

The push-ups should take place 3 days of the week. For example: on M - W - Sat.

Good Idea

Thanks for the reminder, I'll add that to the original post. I'll be doing "Lady" Push-ups. I tried full push-ups last time and I think maybe I bit off more than I could chew.

No takers?

Well it doesnt look like anyone is interested right now, Tru. Maybe I'll repost later this year. I'm still going to do it and then maybe repost when I'm ready to do full push-ups.

Im in!!!

I read about this sometime ago but forgot all about it!!

I'll do my initial test tonight at the gym and post how I got on :D

hey lilly, it might be a small number of pple in your challenge but i think more will join over time :)

100 push-ups? At once? In a row? Without stopping?

I don't think I could've done that while I was in my best shape. But, maybe I could do more than I used to. I mean, I've had years of extensive training through rigorous back and forth motions while....umm...eh, nevermind. Forget I said anything.

I'll join you. I just happend to do some push-ups today... 11 of them. Sheesh, to think I used to be able to do 85 in one shot. Then again, I was 175 pounds at the time and I'm 314 at the moment :D

Push-ups: "Good-Form"
Initial test (02/21/09): 11
End of Week 1 (02/28/09):
End of Week 2 (03/07/09):
End of Week 3 (03/14/09):
End of Week 4 (03/21/09):
End of Week 5 (03/28/09):
End of Week 6 (04/4/09):
Final Test Week 7 (04/11/09):

Arm circumference:
Starting: R: ______ L: ______
Ending: R:______ L:______
* I'll have to edit in these stats when I can get my hands on a soft measuring tape.

85? Thats pretty good, the most I've done (as far as I can remember, old age kickin in lol) was about 25-35 (full push-ups) and basically that was the minimum I had to do to get out of bootcamp lol :gnorsi:

Thanks again guys for Joining me. :seeya:

Best time to do push-ups

Welcome aboard. :waving:

I've actually wondered if it's better to do push-ups right after a workout when you're all warmed up or before a workout, before you're all tuckered out.

I think this sounds fun! I recently got serious with pushups again, that is, not escaping them as much and trying to see them as "fun" :)

I'll return with my initial test results soon!

Hey guys!

I know there aren't a lot of us on this challenge but i'd love to hear how every one else is going with it!

I made an improvement of 5 - hahaha. It's a start!

As I just posted not more than 30min ago on my push-up blog *see above* lol

"I'm gonna DO this! I can do it, I know I can. It may just take some time."

Even if it means starting over 100 times.

How is everyone else doing?

I've been super ill the last couple of weeks, so not been focusing to much on exercise..

Feeling alot better today, going to the gym after work, so will more than likely start again on week 1 day 1...

I seem to hit a wall after about 15 though, my form goes and I basically put a lot of strain on my back...ah well, its all about baby steps right?

Gosh, I haven't even started yet!

I feel like there's like a "perfect" time to start so that I can do it 3 times a week and all that, but i kNOW I'm just silly.
For example when I'm at the gym, I'm always running late for the classes, so I haven't done my intial test before them. And after a class (or two!) I'm exhausted and feel like i'm gonna suck at my initial test.... hahaha EXCUSES EXUSES bla bla bla!! :)

I think putting that down in words might help me :)

Ok... I'll be back

Hi Lily! I guess it's time to get my rear back in gear. I am going to stop back in here tomorrow and sign-up (with my dates.) I just have to get to bed now and saw this post!
