Olga's diary

Excellent progress Olga. I'm impressed with your dedication to the process. 90 minutes is a lot of walking for someone who has not been active. I don't want to discourage you but please be careful you don't over do it. I am one who has exceeded my capabilities in the past and it sets me back to starting over. I have found that gradual increases over longer periods of time allow me the motivational feeling of improvement over that longer duration and lessens the likelihood of an injury setback. My feet are not particularly tough so I need to watch my footwear selection and work up to longer distances. On the other hand, if you can already comfortably walk 90 minutes, please make it enjoyable and as rewarding as possible.

Thank you for your support, guys.
I walked for 45 minutes on Tuesday and on Wednesday.
Every day I drink pomegranate juice (about 250 ml), eat mashed yellow split peas or soybean cheese or tinned peas or tinned corn or boiled potatoes + whole-grain bread (often)+ tangerines (often) + cherry tomatoes (from time to time) + bananas (from time to time) + fresh-ground coffee without milk but with sugar + vegan sweets from dates and dried berries (rarely) + flaxseed porridge with carob but without milk (sometimes) or wheat porridge (rarely) with cedar oil (about 5 ml) + pears (rarely) + whole wheat crisps(frequently) + coconut milk drinks (rarely) + tea with cranberry, lemon, and sugar, etc. I cannot memorize everything that I eat, but I never eat milk and meat products, eggs, fish, and I reduce the amount of oil to 5 ml daily as the maximum, I take vitamins and do exercises or walk a lot.

Hello there!
I celebrated my birthday recently, ate lots of chocolate, sweets, pizza, salads with salmon and mayonnaise and put on weight (about 2 kilos).
But I don't give up.
Today is my fasting day, so, I am going to drink lots of water and eat as fewer products as I can, and tomorrow I am going to start my vegan diet again.

Hey it happens. Just pick yourself up an move on...

Hello guys!
I have come back.
My weight now is 85 kilos.
I am exercising a lot, going outside, walking or just helping my father with repairments at his flat.
Going to keep to my vegan diet again.
Thank you for providing this warm and welcoming environment.

Welcome back Olga. How´s it been going?
very well, I learnt a lot about cooking vegan dishes, learnt how to cook lots of porridges without too much fat, have become more active, exercising every day or walking or going shopping or washing/vacuuming the floors at my parents' to waste extra energy.

2 days on fruit, vegs, and macaroni.
Lost 500 grams.
Have been enjoying vegan diet.
Always full and joyful.
The only thing which was not 'really vegan' is mayonnaise, but I am trying to get rid of the habit to add mayonnaise everywhere.
I have already reduced oil and fats, cooking mostly steamed vegs.

Did you get into the habit of logging your food on a nutrition app? Veggies are amazing but it looks to me like you could still be lacking protein and healthy fats.

Congrats on the loss Olga. I agree with Lama. It does sound like your diet is lacking in protein & healthy fats. I found a good article about getting your protein & fat on a vegan diet, so if you do a search you should find lots of info.

Hello there, guys!
I have changed my diet a bit: now I am a semi-vegetarian or flexitarian (you probably know, what that means).
It is more comfortable for me, and I don't have any lack of protein or carbohydrates, or fats.
Thank you very much for this warm and welcoming atmosphere, for your nice community and support. I am going to keep moving forward!

Hello, guys!
I have come back.
After a long pause I have returned to my flexitarian diet. I keep to eat lots of low-fat yoghurts, mineral water, tangerines, tomato juice, eggs.I am going to go on foot a lot, if the weather is nice. I don't take any medicines which can provoke my weight gain. Sometimes I drink energy-drinks but I try to replace them with coffee. Is coffein harmful, who knows? I am feeling boundless energy after having a cup of strong coffee.

Hey Olga, welcome back!

I am new since you were last here. What is a "flexitarian diet"? Can you tell us a little more about yourself and your goals? What do you weigh now and how much do you want to lose? And how fast?

I am looking forward to reading about your progress.

Hello there!! Flexitarian diet is a diet with a low percent of meat. It is something like of "wannabe vegan" but not too restrictive as vegans do. Flexitarians eat milk, meat, eggs, fish from time to time, but not every day.
My goal is to lose about 40 kilos. Now I am about 90 kilos. I am about 160 cm tall, so, my healthy weight is about 45-50 kilos. I weigh double, as you see. I am going to be losing the weight for about 2-3 years. Maybe 5 years. I am not going to make the process faster. I want to lose the weight gradually, step by step.

Hello, Olga! I'm another person who is "new" here since you were here last. :) Good to meet you!
