Weight-Loss No binge, no purge - one day at at time.

Weight-Loss
Good that you were able to overcome the cravings LaMa. When it comes to cravings I think we all have better and worse days what matters is what we do about it. I had cravings today, but did not give in. I did find a local dietitian/nurse who says she specializes in eating disorders. Not quite what I had in mind, but she is available. So I made an appointment for next week, will see if she can help, don't think it will hurt me. She did seem to understand the urges and binge problem, so maybe.

Let's not binge tomorrow.

Certainly true. I'm curious to see if they go down again even without soda. That'd be ideal.

Fingers crossed she knows her stuff. Either way I think it's good that you're working on it.

Hope your cravings were not bad today LaMa! I had too many diet soft drinks today, sometimes it feels like I binge on them in place of food. Actually I know I do that, just am not sure if its bad or not. I have been trying to keep track of them, but don't get all of them into my diary, it makes no difference in calories so maybe doesn't much matter... No binge today and cravings were more manageable than some days, about as good as it has been of late.

Let's not binge tomorrow.

Hey LaMa, being too busy to think about food is a good way to manage cravings. Looks like you had a couple of good days.

I did not binge today, but am a bit worried about my calorie counts and some grazing I have been doing. I have to be careful on the counts, I know I can easily underestimate. Today I may have eaten a few more than the reported strawberries, and I grazed a few fritos from the grandkids, only 2 or 3, but not a great idea. I also think I may have counted one grapefruit more than I ate, lost count... I do try to weigh and measure a lot, that helps...

Tonight I feel very full, so full I feel like I overate, but my calorie count says otherwise.

Let's not binge tomorrow.

It's tedious to count everything all the time, isn't it? I don't know how bodybuilders do it for decades on end.

Yes, always counting is a bit tedious, but I know it is what I have to be doing right now. I have gotten pretty good at doing it quickly and efficiently on the myfitnesspal app, that helps. The most painful part is knowing I have to do it, that has stopped many a binge, so the pain has been worth it.

No binge today, I continue to eat a lot of veggies and other low calorie foods. It is a kind of low calorie binge, but I am thinking it may not be a bad thing. It will be interesting to hear what my nutritioust/binge eating expert has to say next week.

Lets not binge tomorrow.

Low-calorie binges are better than high-calorie ones, no doubt about it. Are they good? I dunno. If your digestion is working ok and they help you get through the day I think they are.

Can't say my digestion is great, but it is better now that I have cut the broccoli and cauliflower.

No binge today, but I did go 43 calories over my 1,750 goal, mostly because I was more careful in counting the calories, I did not eat more food than normal.

Let's not binge tomorrow.

Those cruciferous veggies can really do a number on your guts. But the spinach has a ton of oxalates, so I guess pros and cons everywhere.

Ate way too much today. Not bunched together enough to technically count as a binge, but caloriewise I was probably close to twice my goal. This kind of thing is exactly what I normally drink diet soda to avoid. If only this bloody country wasn't so lacking in decent-tasting diet soda! Or if they at least offered caffeine-free pepsi Max... I really do need my sleep though, so I'll keep trying to find a balance. If I can keep soda limited to the weekend maybe the sleep issue won't be as bad?

Hey LaMa, sorry to hear about your day, better than bingeing but I am sure you were disappointed. Since COVID the variety of caffeinated soft drinks we can find here is down, is it the same with your caffeine-free Pepsi Max?

No binge here, except that as usual I ate a lot of low cal food. It felt better today.

Let's not binge tomorrow.

I've never been able to find caffeine-free coke of any kind here. The choice in zero calorie sodas is very limited here for some reason.
Feeling better is the main thing.

They do sell a number of different caffeine-free diet soft drinks here, but I have never really tried them. Maybe I will, I may be drinking too much caffeine.

No binge here today, but as I have been doing I ate a lot of high volume low carb food. Lots of celery and spinach, - as well as a large green salad (no dressing) and a whole cucumber. It helped but did not keep me from wanting more...

Let's not binge tomorrow.

I find cola, regardless of brand, is the only kind of diet soda where the taste of the sweeteners doesn't overpower the actual flavor of the drink. I like blackcurrant soda as well but that's not available in a diet version here.

No binge here today, but I continue to want to... I guess what I do matters more than what I want...

even in the criminal system thought crimes aren't prosecuted.
Good point, LOL!

No binge here today, but I did struggle with urges, as I seem to a lot of days. I have been trying to eat more of my calories earlier in the day, that seems to help. A little anyway.

Lets not binge tomorrow.

No binge today, I was too preoccupied with the nutritionist and trying to get my head around a new diet to be too tempted. I did spend a lot of time talking with the nutritionist about my bingeing and she thought my approach of eating large volumes of low calorie foods was a good way to not binge, or at least binge in a "good" way. That made me feel good.

Let's not binge tomorrow!

No binge today, and the cravings, whilst still there, were held back by the distraction of a new diet.

Let's not binge tomorrow.
