sooo, bad news I've been sick lately, not eating at all maybe some soup but only once a day, and although I've been drinking my water, I know it's not nearly enough, soooo spent most of the last 3 days sleeping. I am still going to weight myself but I really don't care what the scale says.

I am feeling better tonight and will start the same ole routine tomorrow morning. I might try to get in 25 mins on the gazelle before I go to sleep if I don't feel to light headed.

bummer #2 it's about that time... of the month... the cramps are starting.

But I don't care, I was feeling sooo good about exercising everyday. Even when what I was eating could have been way better I felt good about at least exercising.


Thanks for all the replies about the mexican food, but I have one question... Why not too much cheese? I thought it was good for you... calcium and all.

well.... I weighed myself for the first time in two weeks and i'm at 227.8 :eek: :eek:

I guess, being sick didn't help. I don't want to quit but man my motivation sure took a hit when I saw that number.:(

I got up did my 25 mins of cardio, watching the star jones interview on today, got the awful news on my scale, then took shower ate breakfast
bowl of healty heart kellogs w/ milk (approx 230 cal) and 1/2 red grapefruit.

I'm eating my snack right now, nonfat yoplait yogurt (100 cal), I'll check in later with lunch.

just feelin kinda blah right now...:( maybe i'm not doing enough exercise?? maybe I should push myself harder??? I just don't get it

Cheer up! You said you are about to start, and most women retain water at that time. Weigh again about three or four days after your period starts and see if it is not down a little.

Also, you have to remember that this first couple of weeks was a learning phase for you! Many people take a little while to start losing weight even though they are making better choices, because their body doesn't know what is going on. You have made changes in the last couple of weeks that you can build on now. Maybe you will want to increase your exercise a bit, or start to look more closely at your calorie level. But the bottom line is you are off to a positive start!
 
Apparantly your TOTM can make you retain up to 5lbs!!!! of water weight. It is something to keep in mind. Also when your body is fighting off an illness, it can retain water aswell. So don't worry too much, keep in mind that you could be holding on to a fair amount of water and just see how it goes. Keep positive, and keep up all the good work!! ;)
 
I just had lunch, lowfat soup (150 cal) and a hand full of broccoli flowerettes I think that's what there called anyway its just the tops, Just about done with my first 32 oz of water today.

will have an apple with 1 tsp of peanut butter, ??? Calories.
 
Smaller, it's just a matter of time before you unlock that combination that's going to work for you. I just know you will succeed.

Keep up the effort and don't let go of your passion to a smaller you. :)

I have not just finished my afternoon snack a green apple with 1 tbls peanut butter, don't know how many calories in the apple but about 80 in the peanut butter.

I just gotta get through dinner, I'll be at work tonight at the second job unitl midnite or later :(

Is it okay to eat my last meal at 8 pm and just have water the rest of the nite. I do computer work so not to much walking around
 
I bookmarked this site on March 4th and believe you me, I use it a LOT !!

The knowledge I've acquired on this calorie site has been priceless to me.
 
The site T2 suggested above is a very good one. I also use foodcount.com And once you start getting familiar with caloric values in the foods you eat regularly the easier it will become. I never realized how very uneducated I was about food until a couple years ago. Knowledge is power!!!! Keep it up and those results will come!!

And yes, Mrs. B is right, if it's your TOM, then you can gain weight...I'm 4 days into mine and I've been eating well, got a lot of walking in, and I still feel bloated.

Give it time, with all you're doing, you WILL see results!
 
Thanx for visiting my journal Smaller. :) Well... Let's see... according to fitday, a small apple is about 63 calories. but I've heard apples are calorie negative fruit (ie: it takes more calories to chew it and swallow it then what you actually gain from it.)

Eating your last dinner at 8 is perfectly normal. And water is great. Just don't eat anything 2-3 hours before bed (4 hours being ideal I've heard). That's usually the general rule.
 
hullo lass, sorry to hear about the scale but what everyone's saying about the period making you retain water is perfectly true, I had the same thing happen to me last week when I was on mine.

Thanks for that C. I know from a comfort point of view I always prefer a big gap, but I was never sure what was best from a health point of view. As I like to go to bed between 8-9pm, I will try to have my last meal at 4ish.;)
 
SBD, TOM is a bugger no matter what way ya call it! LOL I've found even if you're "good" you can gain for that time :rolleyes: Don't let it git ya, just keep on the right track.

Your food is looking really good :D Make sure you're getting all of your water in too :D Yeah, I'm a motherhean, but thats just me :rolleyes: :D
