My Story

Today I am making a commitment to myself to start eating healthy. I am about 100lbs over my "ideal weight" This past year and a half I've been the heaviest I've ever been (up to 230 :eek: ) I'd never gone over 190 till I hit my 30's.

Well I find myself completely ashamed of the way my body looks, but worse is the lack of energy. I have exercise equipment at my home but still I just sit on the couch watching tv with a bag of what ever fast food restaurant I stoped at on the way home :eek:

So with everything else going great in my life, I need to take care of me!!!

I've deciede I need to eat breakfast and pack my lunch, and cook at home.

I have a pilates reformer at home to get me moving and stretching. My goal is to be able to do these special push ups (can't remember the name) without falling on my face.

Sooo, Here's to a great weekend!!!;)
 
Glad you started a diary! :D remeber to eat at least 3 meals (ideally 6 mini meals) every day - your body will go into starvation mode otherwise! :D

yOU can do this! You've taken the first step - you can continue!:D

Hello! You can definitely do this. Just make some realistic commitments and stick to them. Don't worry if the exercise is hard at first, or if you can't go as long as you hoped. Just keep working and it will get easier and easier. :) Good luck with all your efforts!
 
You can do it! And you'll find lots of support and encouragement here. I agree, set realistic goals ... small goals if that will help ... and just try your best. You've taken the first step by admitting that you want to lose weight. We're here for you. Good luck!
 
well the weekend went better than I thought. We didn't hit one fast food drive thru :)

I didn't weight myself this morning. but.. I have already had 16 oz of water. and my light yourgurt this morning for snack. (I didn't get breakfast in :eek: )

I have some lowfat soup for lunch and then for break around 4 pm I have an apple with 1 tbl spoon peanut butter.

Hopefully I can make a good decision for dinner.
 
You WILL make a good decision for dinner. Joining this forum and realizing that you want to better yourself is an important first step- you are on the road to success?

Hang in there and keep on making good food choices. Remember to make sure and get at least 1200 calories a day. You don't want to hit the wall because your bady thinks it is starving. I am a couple of pounds higher than you, and I am losing about 2 1/2 pounds a week eating an average of 1500 calories a day (and walking 4 times a week).

Have you shaken your booty today??? :D
 
yeah, I need to get up and make some breakfast, that would get more calories in, plus, for dinner tonight my daughter wants sushi, sooo, I guess I'll be having some soup, with all those noodles, I'll get my calories in :D

I have a short short goal of getting out of bed tomorrow morning to get in at minimum 20 mins cardio in to start my day!
 
I had an ok day yesterday, no fast food! got in 64 0z of water.

Today: I'll have my yogurt for break, (didn't get up to have breakfast :( ) or to exercise. I guess it's a catch 22 I don't get any exercise so I feel lazy all the time and sleep till I'm almost late for work :eek: but I won't start to feel better till get off my *&&% and start moving. so tonight I'll have to move something!!
 
You're doing great making small changes. We have roughly the same journey so I know how you feel We'll get there, we just have to be stubborn about it. :)
 
since I forgot my soup at home :eek: I had to go to the food court... I had a salad with fresh spinach, cucumbers, mushrooms, green olives (I love those), an egg, and they have backed chicken breast with the bone and skin. but I didn't eat most of the skin :D I am also one who likes to drown their salad in dressing so it almost looks like soup... But I used very little today. I have an apple and peanut butter for snack around 4 pm then it's off to the next job and a slimfast meal replacement will have to due to dinner :eek: I won't get off of work till after 9 pm and I don't want to eat that late.

Goal for tonight: 20 mins cardio on the gazelle machine (wish me luck)
 
How do you like the gazelle? I was thinking about buying one the other day but I wasn't sure how effective they were- Do you really feel like you got a good workout after you're done?
 
OOOHHH YEAHHHH!!!! I did it 20 mins before I went to bed. I was lying there on the couch gettin ready to read and I saw the gazelle well after 15 mins of making excuses, I got up and I did it!

I am sooo much more motivated.

Valapalooza: I have the very first machine so I don't have any resistance. I feel like for me now this is a great work out, you are moving your arms and legs and you get movin pretty fast, there is a monitor that tells you how fast you are moving, how far you've gone and how many calories you've burned. The newer versions have resistance settings which I think is great. Since I am sooo out of shape this does allow me to work up a sweat.
 
so this morning I had cheerios for breakfast. Woo hooo... I didn't get in the exercise this morning, but I did sleep very well last nite. Had my nonfat yogurt for break and a nice salad with baked chicken breast for lunch. Hopeing to ride my motivation all the way to 20 more mins tonight!!!!
 
Hi smaller, you're doing really good. Keep it up. And you've already accomplished the hardest part and that is being able to motivate yourself to do something. Like the other night....you could have just kept sitting on that couch. But you didn't....you got up and you did something positive for yourself. Good for you!!! :)
 
well I'm glad to say that the huge amounts of motivation I had carried over to last nite and this morning too. :)

I didi 20 mins of cardio last nite and burned 103 cal. I'm not going that fast yet, but I feel soo much better having moved around.

This morning I got up and did 10 mins of cardio on the gazelle (i got up late will do 20 mins tormorrow) had breakfast (cheerios), that's two days in a row, and now I'm at work, filled up my 320z cup full of water and got all the things I need to have another good day.

I don't think Im going to weigh myself this friday, I know if I haven't lost a pound I will want to quit, sooo, I'll hold out till next friday.... I gotta remember it's gonna come off slowly. besides I don't want to kill the buzz I have right now, I'm gonna ride it to the end.

Now I'm off to share my motivation with everyone else here!!
 
Yeah we can weigh in every other Friday, sounds like a good idea....I am scared... I really hope I lost at least 2 lbs....If I gained anything I am scared I will get unmotivated....however everyone keeps saying since im doing weight training I am going to gain weight, but I dont wannaaaa gain weight LOL. Good job with gazelle....I always find at first I am so unmotivated to work out but now I find myself getting depressed if I dont go to the gym twice a day. It just takes time...so we will weigh in on the 30th....sound good??
