My Diary

omg...I want one....

Happy New Year everyone...

I actually didn't cook last night as I had dinner at my aunt's house. Also have been finishing off what I've had in the fridge. Like most everyone else I'm a bit higher than I'd like to be weightwise but I'm sure that will come off over time. And as for the party, who am I to say no to such lovely company?

Workout 1/2

Spinning

The first workout of the year (since I took a rest day yesterday) and it was good. Was nice to be back in the saddle to speak and working out. Felt good afterwards mentally and physically - maybe there is something to this whole exercising thing.

I know that I had a good rest, having skipped Monday's workout (Friday being the last time I did weights), but the legs felt unusually good, particularly the left. As a result balance was noticeably better in the left leg, so I was quite pleased. Hopefully this will hold for a full week of working out too.

Online Gaming Anyone?

I was wondering if any one would be interested in playing some online games - things like World of Warcraft, Age of Empires series and such like. Would be willing to learn any game, and might even buy a new next gen console if it came to that. Ideally, I'd like to find a small group to play World of Warcraft, but am interested in any games. As an old goat (age 40) that still plays, I'm looking for likeminded gamers with the right kind of immaturity. Shoot me a pm or reply in this thread if you're interested.

All right, Tom! New Year and New Goal! :D

Is online gaming part of your goal too? :p
I'd say don't don it! Online game is a time sinker! XD I got sunk bad. A miracle I managed to surface hehehe. If you gonna try, I heard WoW is good and going on strong. FFXI is dwindling kinda. I still have the act tho. And there is a new one coming out for PS3. Eve Online is for PC only. It is huge and it looks complicated. If I have PC i'd prolly try it out.

Nope - I'm allowed to have other hobbies aren't I? :)

I know that WoW's only going to get bigger as they have their expansion pack coming out now. And still, not suggesting playing 24/7 - most likely on the weekends and such.

Maintain, Don't Gain

The gym I go to has a program called Maintain, Don't Gain that they run through December and into the first week of the new year. You weigh in just after Thanksgiving, and then again in the first week of the new year. The main goal is to either lose weight, or maintain it within 3 lbs higher. They have holiday activities to be completed every week, like bringing in a healthy recipe, or parking in the last space of a parking lot etc. There are also weekly nutrition goals, like eating 5 fruits or veggies a day, having 20-25 grams of fiber, as well as 2 personal goals that you set yourself. The upshot of all this is that if you do all that they have a lottery in which you could win a stability ball. I'm not so much interested in the ball, but rather in being successful at completing it. It's one of the reasons I was so down around Christmas, because it would've been the first such program I'd've failed at. However, when I weighed in after T-day, I was 248, and today I weighed in at 247, so I'm quite pleased that I was able to make that mark. (A little disappointed the 2nd number wasn't lower, but oh well...) Still, I'm optimistic that I can finally break out of the 240's (in the right direction) and am hoping it happens sooner than later.

Very nice!
