Cohen's Lifestyle My Cohen journey

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Congratulations!!!! I being getting a little bored lately and wish earnestly that I can reach refeed as soon as possible.

Isn't it nice to know that your healthy eating habits will soon brush off on to your kids as they observe you?

Hi Sarah, How's maintenance land going? I'm curious to know how you're feeling about it all. Cheers, Cate.

Maintenance Land !!!

Hi there Cate,

How have you been??? I have been visiting the forum frequently and tried to post a couple of times and each time I would lose what I'd written!! So frustrating.... Hopefully this one goes through ok.

Maintenance has been challenging, to be totally honest. I try as best I can to stick to the general guidelines for management provided by Dr. Cohen, and so far it has been working. My weight is maintaining at around 55kgs, which is good for me. If it ever creeps up to 56, I'll probably do a week or two of the program, just to keep the weight in check.

I think avoiding the desserts has been the most difficult challenge, everything looks so tempting and inviting !!! But I have been sensible, and maybe treat myself to something small once a week.

Carbs I do have maybe once a day, in a small portion. And I usually have this during lunches, so that I keep my dinners light. Fruits have become a huge part of my diet, and I eat a whole load of mangoes, apples and oranges in a week. My hubby is amazed at the amounts of fruit I'm consuming. Bananas have taken a back seat, and no longer appeal to me like what they used to.

Unlike you Cate, I find bread still agrees with me. I may have one slice a day, but it doesn't go 'boom' in my tummy the way it does yours :) I'm happy to keep it in my diet. Heh heh.

Other than that, all is well, .... and I hope it stays that way. I will start exercising again in a few days, starting with a brisk walk in the local park this Sunday morning with a dear friend. Looking forward to that.

Will keep posting when I can, in the meantime take care !

Sarah, Thanks for the update. I'm glad bread is ok with you. I keep trying it & keep having bad reactions (ouch!) I, too, eat lots of fruit & have it with yoghurt usually, unless I have just eaten protein. Have fun in maintenance land. A lot of it is trial & error but the best thing is to keep on top of it by not letting weight creep back on. We have the tools (Cohen's) to correct any weight-gain & you will be surprised how fast you will lose it if you put on a kilo or two. 2 weeks will not be necessary! It sounds like you have it all under control. Take care & enjoy the new you, xo Cate

Back on Cohen

I have been naughty and allowed the weight to creep up again. Sigh! :blush5: I dare not weigh myself, am sure I've put on at least 3kg. So I am definitely slightly over the high end of the range. Shame on me!!

I've started to be strict again, and today is Day 3 on 100% Cohen. I dunno why, but I'm feeling a bit bloated. I hate the way my trousers feel so tight and I suddenly have that muffin top effect on my waist.... I do hope I can lose this bit of weight soon.....:toetap05:

You will fix it Sarah, I'm sure. If you are only a few kgs over your GW range by being 100% for very little time you will blitz it! I predict one week. It's like your body remembers Cohen's & a little light bulb goes off & you drop it almost instantly! I love Cohen's! Good for you sweets switching that little light back on, xoxo Cate

Oh dear .... I am 2kgs outside the higher end of my GW :( Last weekend was a disaster, I gave in to temptation. But today I am a revived Cohen woman! No more deviations. I need to lose this extra weight. Suddenly it feels horrible to be heavy again, and I don't want to feel this way for much longer.

Am keeping my fingers crossed that the program works as well as it did the 1st time round.....

Hey Sarah, I remember reading your diary from start to finish and it was inspiring! Am sure you can lose those pesty kg's pretty quickly!

Thanks for the encouraging words, dietgrrl and Cate :)

Weighed myself this morning and have lost 0.5kg from yesterday. So that's keeping me inspired to stick 100% on the program for at least the next week or two! Need to trim the waist and a bit of the hips .... !

Hey Sarah,
that's exactly how i feel when i weigh myself these days...the couple of grams of weightloss really motivates me to go..i'm sure the 2kgs will be nothing...just 1.5kg left. Cheers!

Sarah. You will lose more than 2kgs if you stay 100% for at least a week or two. That light bulb is now well & truly switched on! LOL xoxo Cate

Hi Geo and Cate,

You are right! I've shed almost 1.5kg now, and about 1kg out of the upper band of my GW. Although I have maybe 4-5days with no deviations, the other 2-3 days where I can't have exact measurements, I try to stick as far as possible to the plan. I'm feeling much better now - the trousers aren't quite as tight as they were a couple of weeks back :)

Will see how I progress through the next week. I'm trying to get my weight down a bit as I intend to try for another baby in the next couple of months :) Don't want to get started on the wrong foot (i.e. overweight)!

Hugs..

Hi Sarah, It was nice hearing from you again. I hope those baby plans are going well ;) Starting off a little slimmer would help but eating very healthily with absolutely no rubbish food would give any baby a good start in life. Imagine having a baby & feeding that baby & you & your family a healthy, nutritious diet. If every mother or would be mother did that our world would change for the better. We have the biggest influence on our children. Whoops- sorry. I got on my soap-box there! Sending you lots of love, xoxo Cate
