Cohen's Lifestyle My Cohen journey

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hiya Cate and all,

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Mine was alright until yesterday when I woke up with a bad cold! My son (4) has caught it as well, but I popped an Actifed last night and woke up feeling much better (tho a bit drowsy!) this morning.

I have decided not to weigh myself until this coming Sunday morning because of TOM. My 8 week blood test is coming up on Saturday, so I'd better stick to the program 100% this week! Haven't really deviated much, except yesterday when my husband arrived home from Mecca and brought home such delicious dates! Truly delicious.

Because of TOM, I'm starting to have cravings for chocolates....and there are a ton of them sitting in my fridge (they belong to the kids :))..... so hard to resist! But I will ignore them and focus on my Coke Light instead for that 'rush'....

Have a great Monday, all, and I hope to read good stuff on your forums over this week!

Hugs,
Sarah

Sarah- I hope you ignored the noisy chocolates. They are only a temporary fix & just not worth it . Get some vitamin C into you, as much sleep as you can & hopefully, get well soon. Cheers Cate.

Almost at GW!

:cuss:Hi All,

I'm excited today! Weighed myself this morning and I am now 55.4 kg! Wow, haven't been this light in more than 8 years :hurray: !!! It's truly amazing, I am so into Cohen's and I've been raving about it to almost everyone I know..... some are skeptical (which I have come to expect) and some are interested to know more! As of now, there are 3 of us here on the programme, and we are all making great progress :).

My 8 week blood test is a bit overdue, and I'm heading to Gribbles on saturday morning. I reckon if I can maintain at 55kg by the weekend, I will order my re-feed. The ideal weight range given to me is actually between 55-58kg, so maybe this is a good time to order re-feed.

Hunger pangs are also quite loud these days, I wonder if my body is shouting for more food ???? :toetap05:

I can't wait to see more results from everyone, will keep on reading your pages for inspiration!

Ta for now,
Sarah

Wee Hoo!!!!!!

:hurray: Congratulations Sarah- That's fantastic. You blitzed it!
 We'll all have an imaginary party with you. I'm drinking French Champagne. (I wish!)
Re: re-feed. I would ask your consultant if she thinks it's time. It probably is. Well done!
Cheers,:cheers2: (but not with beer though-ugh) xo Cate

Sarah!! :D

You're almost/at your GW!!! That is just AWESOME!!!
CONGRATS lady!! :D :D :D

You really deserve it, so spoil yourself a bit ;)

You can be so proud of yourself! I know we all are hehehe ;)

Whoop whoop!!!!

Happy Bunny !

Hi Cate, Luvbug and everyone !!!

Thank you for all the PARTYING !! Me too, am partying in cyberspace with you gorgeous people !

I will be speaking to my consultant tomorrow, and will check whether it is time for refeeding yet. I'm so thrilled to have made it this far ! And for sure, everyone on the forum will have that same estatic feeling as I've been experiencing the past few days !

Cate, can't wait to join you on refeed :) when do you complete?

Luvbug, you're due for your weigh in today, right? All the best :bigear: I look forward to hearing more fantastic stuff from you :)

Cheers, all!
sarah

Hi Sarah- It's great to hear your joy! I have re-done my re-feed & am on maintenance. I actually did Cohen's over 2 years ago but went back on recently & then did re-feed again to stabilise, after putting about 8kgs back on. Cohen's food & succeeding with weight-loss makes you feel fantastic. We just have to remember that & not slip back into our old ways. Me as much as anyone. Cheers for now, Cate

Waiting for Stage 2 !

OUCH!
Had my 3rd blood test done on Saturday, and I'm now waiting for Dr. Cohen to come back with the results and also my refeeding programme. I can't wait to see how different it is! I wonder what kinds of foods will be re-introduced back into the diet ... hmmm, I'm just hoping bananas will be one of them cos I still am having a bit of a bowel problem......despite eating apples, spinach, and having loads of water! :ack2:

Hopefully will get the programme by early next week. I'm now stable at 55.3-55.4kg, would be happy to lose another kg, but its not critical. I also think its time to hit the gym, to firm up those muscles.

Can't wait for the weekend, I'm taking a whole week off next week to spend time with the kiddos (who are on vacation), so am looking forward to taking them out and doing activities with them!

Hope everyone is having a great week, and I'm still waiting to hear Luvbug's 8-week weigh in results !!!

Take care all, :waving:
Sarah

Hi Sarah, How exciting for you (re re-feed not constipation!) I truly empathise with you there. I would think that bananas will be a part of your refeed but not straight away. It was day 8 for me. I don't really like bananas but now I have a few a week as my body seems to tell me I need them. Perhaps that's why.
I hope you do get your refeed so that you can start it during your vacation when you have more time to study it carefully. By adding the extra food you should not suffer too much from hunger if you start exercising but take it slowly at the start.
Have a great break with your kids Sarah & congratulations for getting to where you want to be, xo Cate

Back from vacation :-(

Hi all,

I'm finally back from my short break. Didn't really do much as the hubby was away on business, but I did get to spend quality time with my beautiful children. They are really a joy to have, and it's so wonderful seeing them play and read and sing so happily ! :smilielol5:

It's been 2 whole weeks and the refeed hasn't come yet ! I called my consultant yesterday and apparently Dr. Cohen had been on vacation and I should be able to get it this week. Yippee! :hurray:

Weight-wise, I think I was a bit naughty last week..... didn't quite stick to it 100% but I don't think I've put on. In any case, I think the weight has pretty much stayed the same. I'm back 100% on it this week, and will see it I go down anymore.

I've been reading everyone's posts and its wonderful to see the blooming friendships everywhere :) Especially Luvbug and Starfish who should be meeting up today !!! :grouphug:

Hope everyone has a good week, I can't believe almost half the year has flown by so fast !

Love to y'all,
Sarah

Weekend

Hi all,

The weekend was absolutely tiring! And it involved lots of food around me, and I tried as hard as possible to stick to the rules, but alas had to make some exceptions - especially when a very close friend made a super delicious Malay dish. I couldn't resist but had a very small portion.....

Despite all the foodies distracting me, I'm glad this morning's weigh in didn't give me a shocker. I had really expected the scales to jump up at least a few hundred grams, but thankfully it read 54.9kg.

I'm still waiting for my refeed program. It arrived last week, but my consultant has been super busy, so I will only get it mid-week. Can't wait to see what else has been introduced into the program! :hurray:

Hubby is still away, and is back tomorrow morning. Finally the household will be complete again. Somehow, I really feel that a link is missing whenever he goes away on his business travels.

Here's hoping everyone has a fantastic week, and I'm looking forward to reading all your pages for inspiration :)

Hi nuttyprofessor!

It's good to see that you're still going strong! ;)

Wow -- so you're ALMOST gonna start refeed -- how exciting!!!!
My consultant has also ordered mine so long, but I'm not quite ready yet...

I don't know what I weigh at the moment (it's less than 54.6kg I hope), but I STILL have a huge fobia for the scale! Eish, that thing really scares me haha. Must be because I know how that number can influence my mindset - good or bad.

Glad to hear that your husband is back now! :D

Hope you have a stunning week and come and let us know how's the refeeding program, okay?! hehe :sifone:

Hope the refeed goes really, really well. Just concentrate on it 100% because it really is the key to the whole process working, and where a lot of people fall down and eventually go wrong. (Like me!)

Refeed Program Received !!

Hiya all!

I finally managed to meet up with my consultant yesterday, and she has passed me my refeed program !! Wow, I didn't expect it to be a day-to-day programmed diet....mine spans over 19 days, and the quantities of food are gradually increased over those days.

The one great thing is I get to have a banana on Day 8 ! Hehehe.

But I must say, the refeed is not as simple as it looks. I've read it over twice and I still need to digest what I need to do. First thing is to plan my menu for the next week. Should be easy at first as I will just be increasing my intake of the foods that I'm eating now. Come the 2nd week, I will start to incorporate new proteins into the diet (salmon, here I come!)....!! Then start mixing proteins, aargh! Am so used to having just one protein at a time, it's gonna be a big adjustment to suddenly have both fish and meat together :)

Once I decide when I'm gonna start refeed, I'll try to maintain a day-to-day count until its done....

Looking forward to the weekend!

Take care, all,
Sarah xxx

Hi Sarah, Re-feed does need concentration. You will be amazed at the amounts that you will eat & think that you couldn't possibly fit them in & then your body adjusts to that new amount. It's a very interesting exercise. Things that you once really thought you were hanging out for may not be so delicious. Have fun! Cheers, Cate

Fantastic news. Refeed is definitely very complicated, but stick at it. I didn't, and ended up back where I was.

Refeed - Day 1

Hiya All!

Hope everyone had a good weekend....

Cate, Niyah ~ Thank you so much for the advice, and I have taken it to heart. Spent almost half of Saturday planning for the 1st week of re-feed, re-calculating the weights for the proteins and vegs, buying a load of 'new fruit' and etc.

Finally get to start on refeed today. Mine will span a total of 19 days, so I should be done by mid-July :)

I have to say, the quantities look huge to me - have gotten so used to the nice small portions that it's a bit strange to suddenly add so much on ....!

Luvbug ~ looking forward to hearing about your experiences on refeed :)

Will update again soon ... take care all.

Just a quick note to check in - I've just had my lunch. Today it was beef korma and spinach. I'm not sure if I'm getting sick, but lately I've been losing my appetite ! Maybe it's because I'm on the home stretch, everyone else's food seems so much more interesting compared to mine.

From tomorrow onwards, I'll be allowed to have a slice of bread in place of 3 crispbreads. Not sure when I'd want to have it since carbs are not allowed for breakfast..... Am thinking of skipping bread altogether, though I really do miss it. Before the diet, I was a carb and protein person, so it was a shock to be rid of carbs! hehehe.

Am really looking forward to having small doses of rice and pasta though. Mmmmm yummy.

Hi Sarah- It's really funny but your body just adjusts to the extra food. It looks like a lot, but it's not. You will cope with it well I'm sure but try to remember what you have side-effects from & then you can work out if you want to give them up as an every day thing. Keep a food diary perhaps & write down how you feel after eating something like bread. I introduced it when they said I could but dropped it after a bad belly-ache & bloating. Ouch! Every now & then I have a piece & snap! Ouch again!!Mm mmm. Beef Korma & spinach sounds nice. Take care & have fun with re-feed, xo Cate
