Milestones (Amy's diary)

Did they see them? Were they (the satellites, not your family members!) launched locally?
I think my sister said they didn't see them but their paternal grandparents (who'd thought to bring binoculars) did. I don't know where they were launched but it was a private thing, Elon Musk perhaps?

Amy we have started looking at the stars a bit more as my daughter is getting interested in astrology photography. ...

you might be looking for the word "astrophotography".

I'm way behind on satellite news, obviously! But I've had a quick catch-up and now I know which satellites were being referred to. It's grey and cloudy here today - it was last night, too - so sky-watching of any sort is out for the time being, alas! Well, I guess there's cloud-watching, but really - low-level greyness can't compare with high-floating cirrus on blue, so today there's not much point in that, either. glum, glum.

But not really. I'm well rugged-up, and well-prepared for the work-stuff, and thinking hard about what I can come up with as a Tactic of the Day, as part of my s-l-o-w progress back into the 160s. Hmmm... :)
Oh! a gleam of sunshine outside! That settles it! I'm off for a quick walk! Bye for now!

(and can you believe it? In the time it took me to write Oh! a gleam of sunshine outside! That settles it! I'm off for a quick walk! Bye fo the gleam disappeared. But I'm going anyway. :) and :seeya:

My strategy for the day is reducing my soda intake again as it's messing up my digestion. But I seem to rember you're more sensible than me on these things :) I hope you enjoyed your walk: feel free to send me any surplus clouds.

Just the motivation you needed though so that worked out! Hope you caught a bit of sun or some other beauty on your walk!

Hope you enjoyed it all the same Amy. It's a series of tactics needed I think - a military-style operation at times to reach the next milestone. I hope inspiration hits.

Hey Amy, just checking in. Happy to see you working on getting into the 160s, and slow progress is much better than no progress. I am looking forward to hearing about your "tactics of the day"!

I also saw Venus along side the moon sliver, but wasn't sure it was Venus, now I know, thanks!

I did enjoy the walk, thank you, people! :)
Hope you caught a bit of sun or some other beauty on your walk!
Not sun (which I was hoping for, for Vitamin D) but I did see much loveliness of different kinds - raindrops in puddles, which made me wish I had a camera with me, and two sheep, each with a lamb in tow, wandering loose on the road (I think I know which paddock they got loose from, and rang the farmer concerned as soon as I got back.) Their wandering loose wasn't lovely, but they themselves were a pleasant sight. :)
Good plan about the soda, @LaMaria ! It can be a devious underminer of health efforts, including my particular favourites, tonic water and ginger beer/ale (including in mixed drinks :blush5:).
The rain has been great, Cate! the best start to the season for a long time, a local farmer told me this morning.

Ha! That's just what's been going on, over in the 170s Club! I was so cross with myself for getting back there that I've instituted a Tactic of the Day plan, trying to think up a new diety tactic every day until I get into the 160s! :) It's hit and miss, of course, but it gives me a bit of fun along the way. :)

The long-distance work-from-home is going well. Not sure how long it will go on for, but right now I'm glad it's happening, and very happy to be keeping in touch with people. And while April was a bit of a dud for me, in terms of weightloss/fitness aspirations, things are looking fairly positive today for being back into the 160s soon - I'll check in with the scales tomorrow.

And hey there, @alligatorob! I was just about to post this when your reply popped up! The Tactics of the Day have been happening over in the 170s Club - and at least some of them seem to be working! :D Glad you saw Venus near the moon - stunningly beautiful, hey? I must look up how close it is right now - I'm betting that the past few weeks Earth and Venus have been the closest they've been for a while.

Raindrops in puddles and little lambs out for walks with their mamas sounds so nice!!
Nice to hear things are looking good on the scales as well.
(I also went out to check out venus by the moon--thank you for mentioning it :)

Raindrops in puddles, whiskers on kittens... Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens :D Back to the Sound of Music!

I'm very intrigued by these "Tactics of the Day"! I tend to find that concentrating on what you need to do is a lot more rewarding than thinking about what needs to be abstained from. Sounds like the 160 club isn't far away at all :)

I'm sort of swinging on the doorhandle to the next door club - I can hear them talking in there!
Back to the Sound of Music!
LOL!
May is where it’s at Amy!
It's May today! Cheers for the workers - and for the new month!

Yes, April was tough, and I didn't do almost everything I thought I would, including with weight loss. :(
I did manage to keep to the bed-and-lights-out-by-eleven, so that's one thing, and blessedly today's a fresh start.
I have to get to my WFHing right now, but I'll be back to read everyone's diary before the day's out - and to think through what my self-care/healthiness plan for May can be.

Hey Amy, your April was tough and eventful, you have ever right to write it off!

Happy May! Though its still April here for 4 more hours.

Yay for fresh starts
