McDonalds Diet

Eh, I hate eating mcdonalds. I wouldn't eat that stuff for 30 days if you payed me a million quid.

In this article, there are a few positve and important learning messages that stand out for those that are willing to see it and use it to a personal goal advantage. THIS ARTICLE ROCKS!

----->------>"Oooops", says an average deficit dieter, "I ate a 300c candy bar. OH! Im still within my calorie restrictions; its all good. I dont have to fall off the deep end and get sad or depressed. I STILL ROCK!"

Reading with Correct Perception + Applying what can be Learned = Personal Goal Advantage

EDIT: There is more in this article than just one thing to learn here, do YOU see it? :) And, Im not talking "basics of common sense applicable to training and fitness" we all know, either. Thats TOO EASY for most of us, but doesnt apply to ALL OF US, as some in society dont even have the common sense of weight loss, maintain weight, or how to properly gain weight, down. And, thus one of the reasons I made the comments I made. :)

Deliberately and earnestly look for things that can help you on your goal path, PEOPLE! In everything you see! YES LEARN BABY. Learn to master yourself!

It can help in figuring out your "personal puzzle"

Yes.,.......figure this damn thing out, make it work! Live and learn all day everyday!

Are your eyes open? Do you truelly see? Earnestly look for knowledge to BEAT DOWN adversity.

:)

Oh......good morning......HEHE. I just got done working out, I get rather psyched........HEHEHE........Love the feeling, baby! :)

I feel like I am 18 years old.......YEP! Fitness does fricken wonders! (except for my hair......:( )

I worked out with my 19 year old this morning....He had a hell of time getting out of bed. LOL. When his 46 year old father was up and spunky.....HEHEHE, ;) He wasnt enthused. :( ---lol :)

I was a "motivating irretant" :) What ever works.....LOL

LOVE leading by example.......YEP, this ROCKS!

Its all good!

It's common sense:

Eating in moderation + Eating a variety of food + Exercise = Maintaining a healthy, natural weight.

Another good case in point is Subway's Jared. Jared had been fat his entire life, and he's been on one diet, only to go on another. Finally, he decided he's going to eat nothing but Subway, the closest fast food chain near his college dorm. If it was McDonalds, Wendy's, or Burger King, he would have gone there instead. In the end, he ate three meals a day at Subway, kept it sensible, and exercised. He lost weight.

The problem is: how can it be realistic to eat fast food everyday? Despite what most people say, eating fast food costs a lot of money and if you eat it everyday, three times a day, you can go broke rather quickly, especially if you're a college student.

I personally think this whole fast food craze is nothing but a big scare. People left and right blame McDonalds and other fast food chain for no reason. When you eat at fast food joint, the food is good! Big surprise!!! I mean it's supposed to taste good, that's why it's so popular. Duh! The problem is eating it in moderation, eating a variety of different food, and just exercising. Most people just go there, order the largest meal, go home, sit in front of the tv or computer and do nothing. You can get fat that way just eating chicken and salad all day.

Great post Dallen ...very well said !

Couldn't agree with you more.

Its not rocket science

- overeat like the 5000/6000 calories a day and you gain weight
- under-eat like the examples above and others on the web and you lose weight

Won't the saturated fat/unhealthy fats used by the fast food joints affect you somehow?

I hate the way they market to the children. I saw this parade once that was sponsored by MD and they had their advertising all around and the RM clown throwing candy to the kids. They try to suck them in young.

The key to a healthy lifestyle is moderation. I'm sure that eating Macdonald's every day isn't that good for you even if it doesn't exceed your caloric limits. There are things like saturated fats and lots of simple carbs that aren't that good for you in excess. You really should eat a variety of things.

Fast Food joints do not provide the caloric content of their food including saturated fat/Trans fats and provide meals with a sugary fizzy drink and probably a high calorie apple pie as desert. The typical eater at a fast food place is not going to get a mcnugget, he is going to get a full meal and probably not know how many calories he has eaten.

At the end of a day I would consider a "McDiet" irresponsible just like someone eating only a few snickers bars a day - the nutrient quota has not been met . It is probably a stunt of some sort just like the guy who overate at McDonalds's and went on his GF/Wife's detox program.

Actually you might be interested in reading this study...

The short of it is if you are obese that diet would be a really bad idea and in general there is negative repercussions of eating high carsogenic foods.

Actually I have seen the nutritional information on the Big Mac box now. I know many people who eat a hamburger, fries, soda, and apple pie dessert at home as well.

I also guess you didnt read the link I posted because the guy who did it wasnt eating McNuggets. He was eating Big Macs, 1/4 Pounders, Big N Tasty, etc. At the end he lost 8lbs, good cholesterol went up, and bad went down.

Now he was also very lean to begin with, and being lean allows a much greater option of foods. He was eating 5000 cals +/- each day and wouldnt have been able to do that if he wasnt in great shape to begin with.

I remember coming off of the low-carb approach to dieting, and reached my goal of 8% BF, and made the decision to splurge ( ), and ate about 3,500c (way over my MT Line), and one of the meals was at Wendy's (one of the absolute rarest of rarest of things I do): I ate one of their triple decker burgers, large fries, and a diet coke (LOL). The next day, I had a rather extraordinary experience. I swelled up like a baloon, but was as lean as ever. After doing some "reading", I attributed the "swelling" to the introduction of carbs, salt, and water.(that was effected in the low-carb period). It was rather interesting, and comprehensive reading can thrwart off confusion and assist one sometimes. It was just my body taking the carbs and water where it was needed as its stores were low (in simple terms).

Reading ROCKS!

Guilty as charged!
Same here as I had read of the Morgan woman's 1400 calorie Mcdiet and jumped to conclusions as most of these people do this to write a book or a movie. McDonalds was made to be "evil" by the SuperSize me overeater and you have a spate of people now coming up to say they lost weight at McDonald's or Subway's.

Back to the topic at hand what is the bottom line for these McDieters and the headlines they make? Does the ordinary obese guy on the street do what they did (or will he do what they have done)?

The article finishes rather nicely :-

Truth In Fitness said:
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: I am saying that exercise was the reason for my improvements and not the fact that I only ate McDonald’s food for 30 days. If you were to take exercise out of the equation, I would have gained 30 to 40 pounds of body fat, and I can not tell you how my cholesterol would have reacted; This is where education becomes very important

Sure, anyone can lose weight eating nothing but Macdonald's just like anyone can lose weight eating nothing but pure butter and sugar as long as it's within a certain caloric limit. It doesn't mean it's healthy though. Weight isn't the only gauge of health.
